I want to paint my 90 Talon TSI in the next couple of weeks, but I can't think of a paint scheme.Any Ideas? I was thinking maybe, black with ghost skulls or ghost skull flames and a graveyard mural on the hood(I've always wanted to do this on a vehicle).ANY color or Design.Best idea gets a case of beer(your choice).

How about "black"? One solid color is always a nice paint scheme...sometimes my black roof on the white and on the maroon car is almost a bit too saucy for me to handle.

LightningGSX 11-29-2003 03:04 PM

I get bored with solid color schemes and end up changing paint jobs every couple of months, but when I do custom stuff I usually keep it that way for at least a year.So I gotta do something different, so I don't get bored with it to quick.

Gotta agree with chris on this one, black or maybe blue would be good colors. Custom paint just attracts to much of the "wrong" attention, wether it is from cops or theives.

Maybe some subtle flames, like really dark gunmetal on a black car so they don't stand out too much, but when you get up close, you can see them.

Anodize all the panels!!! i dont know if its legal but it would look sweet!

I still/have always dreamed about having a chrome car with miror window tint. The whole car being chrome dipped or something. Then I would spend all day driving around laughing at all of the people I pissed off because of the reflection. If I become a millionaire and you see a car like that, it will be me on the inside.

I would say a dark metallic green with some type of ghost flame worked in (or ghost skulls like you were talking about). I just love dark green on the 1g. I saw one at the shootout in July and fell in love!

Kracka 11-30-2003 08:42 PM

My favorite is a nice pearl white with a VW gloss black roof.

BuildADSM 11-30-2003 10:18 PM

I really like the ghost stuff worked in so it doesn't exactly jump out at a glance but when you look longer you can see the real beauty behind the paint..... Also if you get bored w/ the paint on your cars have you ever thought about buying a car, painting it, drive it for a year, then sell it for probably more than your got it for cause your work is crazy... I would imagin that would cost a hell of a lot if you didn't do it yourself.

jpretz 12-01-2003 12:18 AM

Do you paint cars? Cuz if you do i'd like mine painted. Its a 91 talon, just white/ black basic. It already is but could use a re paint.

LMK

Yeah I paint them myself and will do it for others, but I have to paint 2 of my vehicles soon and I've got some electronics stuff I have to get on the market ASAP, so it will be a couple of months.

I kinda like the green idea, but I can't picture how the skulls will look. What color skulls do you think would work?

At-Least-It's-An-Evo 12-01-2003 03:53 PM

Hot pink w/ yellow teletubbies and purple barneys all over.

custom paint is sweet

go black with silver bone tribals and put a silver grim reaper on the hood. swiss cheese tirbals too. then do silver and black interior.

thats your car? I have seen that before in a pic. Very nicely done paint that must have taken a ton of hours with the airbrush! i am guessing that you didn't do it yourself.

dsmdude 12-06-2003 03:44 PM

thanks, caleb nelson from smooth customs did all the paint. he is a pimp daddy with the air brush.

damn that is nice airbrush work! must have cost a small fortion though. just wondering what year/ make.

sorry to be OT.

A//// Guy 12-06-2003 05:49 PM

Eh i dont like it. Good skill but nasty color scheme.

dsmdude 12-06-2003 05:54 PM

95 talon with eclipse taillights and blitz body kit. caleb estimates the paint worth 8-10k. the interior is getting done this winter and should be even more crazy, the dash will be a 1 off custom fiberglass unit. we worked out a trade and i bagged his truck and did some work on his stratus.

BuildADSM 12-06-2003 08:51 PM

lol well the paint is pretty crazy.... so you just did some work on his truck and stratus and you got a 8-10 k paint job... seems like you came out on the better end of the deal..

back on topic ... lightning you could do something kinda like you old paint job that you posted up when you posted you GSX. You could do something like that but almost make it look like the paint on the front of the car is ripping off.

LightningGSX 12-06-2003 11:04 PM

No offense to you, I think the paint is cool, but that guy is on crack if he thinks that is 8k+ in paint work or I need to start charging people more money.Either way its a definite good deal on your part, if you just bagged a truck and did some work on a stratus.Did you notch the frame or something?Do some custom shit on the rear axle or something? Anyway....I was mixing around with some paint and came up with a cool dark gray, so my current idea is my dark gray with tribal ghost flames filled with ghost skulls and a huge graveyard/satanic/night of the living dead type shit on the hood.I gotta come up with a color for my 98 too, I was a thinking of the paint ripping off thing(like stated above), I always wanted to do one like my old one,but spend more time on it, I did that one in like 3 hours and drank 12 pack before I even started. Or maybe I should go with one solid color on that one.Maybe a custom maroon color or something with a mural on the hood.Damn decisions.

BuildADSM 12-06-2003 11:27 PM

this is probably a stupid question but what the hell does he mean by bagged a truck???

AJ 12-07-2003 10:59 AM

Air bags for suspesion.

BuildADSM 12-07-2003 03:49 PM

ahh i should have known that..... If he just installed them he probably came out on the better end of the deal

dsmdude 12-07-2003 11:35 PM

he got a full air ride fbss fast bags setup with 10 switchbox and top of the line compressors, tanks, valves, etc. plus a custom tube bridge, relocated and dropped shocks all around, step notch, spindles, etc. for his stratus he got a body kit, intake, exhaust, coilover struts. he is a good freind of mine so i got hooked up, he also knows the car will be at alot of shows and track events compeating so it is good advertisement i guess. custom paint is the best mod i've done to my car yet, almost EVERYONE looks at it and makes a comment, some good and some bad. its strictly a show / track car so the more attention the better.

BuildADSM 12-08-2003 06:07 PM

yeah it would get alot of attention but I was getting ready to say it must be a cop magnent.
And I take it he payed for all the stuff and you installed it.

Ok back on topic. I was thinking about mabey do some type of cool color paint and slowly fade it darker and darker as it goes down or from the front to the back.... They are simple looking but still at the same time incredable.

dsmdude 12-09-2003 02:37 PM

no, i payed for the materials. we bag ALOT of stuff so it really didn't cost a whole lot for me. he has extensive work done to his truck though, $3500+ in supplies with installation. he paid for the paint and materials for my car.

i actually have not yet been pulled over in the car (despite there being a few illegal things about it, no front plate, loud exhaust, etc) knock on wood :)
