as for mine, i'll let you know when the car runs

but what about j00 people?

Jana 10-16-2003 11:06 PM

Moved to off topic since it's not a direct tech questions.

Be sure to post up your favorite turbo and what you like about it! :D

AJ 10-16-2003 11:17 PM

Im gonna have to vouch for this 16G that's bit the dust in my garage. Gonna turn it into a fast spooling, rally car moving, 400 crank hp beast!

Jakey 10-16-2003 11:19 PM

My vote goes towards the 14B sitting underneath my desk right now because a similar one is going to propel Mike to the 14B record and it is the only turbo I have ever owned.

Kracka 10-16-2003 11:20 PM

I would have to say either a 12A or 9B, both ballin' top-end monsters.

redline 10-16-2003 11:34 PM

gonna say my big16. full spool by 3200 and lots of boost left once some fuel mods come :3gears:

niterydr 10-16-2003 11:52 PM

i would fancy me some big 16g's versus my ballin 9b's.

Shane@DBPerformance 10-17-2003 12:37 AM

14B, 20G, 50-trims... 14B is the king though.

john 10-17-2003 12:42 AM

I planned on 20g but I will probly go 50 trim since it is bigger.

CVD 10-17-2003 12:46 AM

the small 16g is great for blowing headgaskets and making not enough power.

Stop your honkin'. :69: Ummmm......yeah.

Matt D. 10-17-2003 02:30 AM

I like the 16G that's being a paperweight on top of my car magazines.

Super Bleeder!! 10-17-2003 03:22 AM

I love my Bunchies!!! He is so cool, don't get on his bad side though. I just like how "random hero" sounds, and since I watched some Jackass tonight, I just figured :fworld: and threw 'er up.

20G RULES!

At-Least-It's-An-Evo 10-17-2003 10:54 AM

The 14b, 20g, and 60-1(s) are the coolest. :pimpin:

TheBlizzard 10-17-2003 01:22 PM

Hey what about the T25 guys, you have full spool up by 100 rpms and it lasts for about 2 or 3 hundred rpms and then falls on its face. woohahaha. Its a cute little thing though isn't it?

CRAIG :bj:

AJ 10-17-2003 01:23 PM

T25 IS DA SHIZZIT!

CVD 10-17-2003 01:27 PM

dont be hatin on the T-25. the thing would be a monster on a vee dub.

MustGoFaster 10-17-2003 02:25 PM

What is that thing supposed to support for horsepower?

550hp

On DSM's the rule of thumb is 10lb/min = 100hp, so 55lb/min Comp. Flow = 550hp

Raptor 10-17-2003 04:45 PM

Not enough! Must go bigger :bounce: I want a turbo that will inhale watermellons. Spool? If it comes in by 7K life is great!

:P :bounce:  :bounce: :P:

If my VPE GT3056 comes up being too small, I'll be getting the FP3065

What do you estimate that you are running horsepower wise with that turbo Mike?

JET 10-17-2003 09:16 PM

My personal favorites are the 14b, small 16g, td06 20g and the 50 trim. I have had all of them except for the 20g, but Andy can vouch for them. I really love the 50 trim though. My next turbo will be the GT56, but I think I am sticking with the 50 trim for a while.

Haven't been able to get out to the track since I installed DSMLink v2, MAFTranslator & 3.5 LS1 mas, Dejon Tools 3.5/3.0 intake pipe, 272/272 cams & Fidanza gears and removed my balance shafts. I don't have access to a AWD dyno, but I've run some of the calculations using tuning tools found on performance websites. I get a range of 380-425whp and 460-505bhp depending on which sites formula you use. I would say it is probably safe to say the middle figures of 402.5whp and 482.5bhp are close. I got those figures based on a car & driver weight of 3580lbs and a trap speed of 115.4mph. Ya'll can work those numbers and see what you come up with if you like. I would hope with the new parts installed it does better though.

Can't wait to see what it does on the new engine also.

1Fst14B 10-18-2003 12:59 PM

keep the 14B as long as possible, skip the 16g crap...waste of time
i really like kevin's PTE 50 trim, spools quick, and good for 10's
a 2.4 and a 60-1 would be very fun on the street...

14B power

AJ 10-18-2003 01:40 PM

TDO6 20G Is looking to be good for 10s. :-) I will go with my 16G for rally cause I don't need a whole lot more power, but will need quick spool to get me out of corners to be matched up with more top end power than a 14b ot t25 can provide.

Jakey 10-18-2003 03:35 PM

Correct me if I'm wrong please but a small 16G and 16G are just different wheels in the TD05 housing, and the S16G, big 16G and 18G are just smaller wheels in the TD06 housing?

Big 16G is still in the TD05 housing, I don't know about the 18G.

Dragsourcetsi 10-18-2003 03:53 PM

FP-Green, comes on strong and lots of power 480. With no n20 and a trap of 128.

FP-3565, yea well 608 to the wheels no N2o and a trap of 123.

So any FP turbo  . Had lots of fun with the T-28/28 too/.

just curious, what were the times associated with the traps. AWDer's dont just go for traps :dsmrule:

AJ 10-18-2003 04:14 PM

Both those cars:

99 GSX running the green was up at the dyno fest we had and a 95/96 White GSX running the non standard 3565 are both 11 sec cars that have not to my knowledge been driven near their ability yet. Someone let us knwo if they are running at CF today or at CF next weekend!

Jacek 10-20-2003 06:52 PM

ill go with a JT9D

turbo-FAN!
