Winter

So, winter is about here. What are y'all doing with your DSMs and such?
[Damn, this was going to be a poll. I've just found out that i'm not smart enough to make a poll work. (and no polish jokes)]
Never you mind folks, i got the poll working:)

Jakey 11-08-2004 10:14 PM

Hopefully mine will be roadworthy so I can have some fun on the good 'ole country roads.

A//// Guy 11-08-2004 10:17 PM

This is the first year my 91 is not going to see snow. Im very sad about it but I think its for the best :(

Thats ok I have a quattro I can tool around in in the snow if we even get any this year. I just wont be able to spin around in a parking lot listening to the spool... oh sweet sweet spool.

Shotgun! 11-08-2004 10:17 PM

I just realized that most of the DSMs of this site are broken. I'm thinking i should have added that as a third option.

Jacek 11-08-2004 10:30 PM

im going to pull the abs fuse and take my car out on the ice :)

Jana 11-08-2004 10:38 PM

Well, I don't have my DSM anymore, so I'll be driving my prizm year round. lol However, when I did have my GSX, I drove it year round as well. That's why I bought the AWD version. :D

MustGoFaster 11-08-2004 11:32 PM

The VR4 will be hibernateing soon. Anti-rust is the main reason.

A//// Guy 11-08-2004 11:36 PM

Antirust is my only reason...

AJ 11-08-2004 11:45 PM

The 1.8 will be hunting all winter long.

CVD 11-08-2004 11:59 PM

What's rust?

john 11-09-2004 12:40 AM

I am not going to vote. I have one in each catagory right now. The 92 laser AWD for winter and the 92 talon for spring possibly.

IndiEP 11-09-2004 01:17 AM

I will be driving around in 90hp of Fwd, 4spd fury. This year all the tires are good so I'll have to re-master the e-brake dorifto. I'm also thinking of making a BBQ out of a barrel and grilling out over winter, I hate grilling w/propane!

TheBlizzard 11-09-2004 02:09 AM

I will be driving mine all winter, FWD rules in the snow....NOT!!!!!!!! Fuck, even rain is scary under boost going 70+.

CRAIG

Nash 11-09-2004 08:20 AM

Hunt all year long!

Raptor 11-09-2004 11:12 AM

Mine will remain levitating right where it is except those occasions it gets floated into the shop for some work. The Max gets winter duty now ;)

CRAIG

Get some decent tires and you'll be fine. My 3" dropped FWD loved the snow :)

TalonFiero 11-09-2004 11:27 AM

Mine will be driven most of the winter. My car came with rust.

Jim

ABV 11-09-2004 11:34 AM

The 240 is goin into storage within a week or two. (There's supposed to be rain/sleet/snow tomorrow). I've got the truck for winter duty. Hey Mike, we should have a winter offroad challenge. First person to get stuck loses. Don't worry, I have a tow strap to pull you're cute little truck out of the ditch. :D

Enes 11-09-2004 11:34 AM

the truck gets the winter duty.. along with the fully working winch it should be fun..

The eclipse is in for hybernation/cleaning/preparation for next year..
either that or parting out.. not sure yet..

I might start activelly selling it, put it for sale and get the hell out of deesems forever..
about the only way i'll stay in dsm's is if i don't sell it and not loose too much on it..

curt_gendron 11-09-2004 12:02 PM

The 97 GSX is my daily driver so the snow tires will be going on soon and I'll be dodging crazy drivers on the icy Minnesota roads. :(

later,
Curt

It's on punk, the Max will own your yuppy puppy truck, you might just want to keep your tow strap attatched to the front of yours just to make it more convenient to yank it ya out.

Yeah, I know... It is too nice to be plowing through the snow with. Maybe next year. :(

Curt

Kracka 11-09-2004 01:57 PM

DSM's make great winter beaters when your "real" car is a 3/S :)

jdr_fatbob 11-09-2004 03:54 PM

ENES!!! your selling your car? dude that car looks pimp. tsk tsk oh well. drivin my lovely buick throughout the winter hahaaa and the new car i get will be put in storage.

santa 11-09-2004 04:06 PM

hunting here in lame wyoming.... damn wyo tech why does it have to be here....

1slowdsm 11-09-2004 09:51 PM

I only have one car and cant afford another, plus..no garage! So she'll be hunting year round again...oh well, its fun in the snow. Only ran into the curb once and that was when I was driving normally, haha. Is ABS or no ABS better? I dont really know...my ABS was never working when I bought the car.

Halon 11-09-2004 09:58 PM

mine has been has been in storage since june, and will stay there. I'll be driving the silvia during winter.

A//// Guy 11-09-2004 11:15 PM

ABS is poo, its nice but if you downshift you hardly ever need to use your brakes. I dont have abs.

Black97civic 11-10-2004 12:23 AM

what is reid doing on the interweb??

honda= winter beater
quest= blue paperweight

Wizard50369 11-10-2004 01:55 PM

The Talon will be up and hunting soon as I get my transmission. The Grand Cherokee will be the main one though, as it loves the snow. If we get any in Oregon that is.
The only way to drive in the snow is sideways while using your drivers window as your front windshield!

ABS is better for those who hit the curb in normal driving. A race car should have ABS, or a freaking heater!
