Well there was definitely a sigh of relief around the office this morning once Kerry conceded.

Kracka 11-03-2004 10:57 AM

Individual rights for at least 4 more years :) I'm deffinately in the minority up here in D-town, but at least we kept the even stricter smoking-ban from going in to effect (I don't smoke, but also don't feel people should have their freedom of choice taken away from them...not to mention all the tax revenue).

Enes 11-03-2004 11:01 AM

my taxes almost tripled in last 4 years..

Kracka 11-03-2004 11:15 AM

Are you talking about net taxes or the percentage of your income going to taxes? I am sure you are making a lot more money now than you were 4 years ago, you deffinately have a very diverse business spectrum.

Enes 11-03-2004 11:16 AM

No, i am actually making less now than i was 4 years ago... and i am talking about all taxes in general..

property taxes, income taxes... and every year i get less and less of it back..

Raptor 11-03-2004 11:20 AM

We have nicer roads all because of Enes and his tax debts. I really thought Enes and I had this thing won, not enough of you slackers did the write in for us.

I too have been paying higher property taxes (my house assesment went up over $10,000 this last year) and I was assessed ~$4500 for new sewers and roads, but overall I am happy since it is making my 'hood look much nicer. So when are some of you Kerry supporters moving to Canada like you said you would if Bush won?

tpunx99GSX 11-03-2004 12:00 PM

we're all going to get drafted dammit, women, children, bush is looking for world domination and HE WANTS YOU. we are all going to hell for what we have done.

Kracka 11-03-2004 12:38 PM

The draft bill was actually introduced by DEMOCRATS just so you people know, the whole draft-scare was nothing but a tactic used by the democrats to scare up some votes. If the draft is enacted once more, pony up to the table and fight for what this country has given you. I will be at a recruitment station that day if the draft is brought back. I can almost bet we won't hear another word about it for quite some time though.

CVD 11-03-2004 12:54 PM

Good god tom, settle down. I agree with Hughes on this one. If this country needed troops so badly that it initiated a draft I too would head on down the the recruitment center.

Kerry is a soccer moms president. He would be banning and outlawing left and right when he got in in the name of saftey and security. His radio advertisements simply make me sick, have you heard them?

Did you vote Tom? If you didn't then shut the hell up. You have no one to blame but yourselves. Sure California voted Kerry anyway (Imagine that?), but ALL my freinds that do nothing but bash/blame Bush for everything and do nothing but hype JK did not vote. Out of 17 Kerry supporter I know only 1 voted.

By the way, I can tell you are joking around with your above statement, at least I hope your joking.

I just asked, and no he did not vote.

1Fst14B 11-03-2004 04:42 PM

do you people seriously think a president has really THAT much control to go around banning things, rasing taxes by himself, starting wars with any country he wants...
screw that, thats what the congress and shit's for...

really, i dont see my life changing at all no matter who is in the presidency.

but this fuckin war is all BS. why did it start? cus bush and his lack of national security! all through the campaign his major stand was "national security and the war in iraq" he has/had no security, and there shouldnt be a war.

but whatever, im still gonna work and get paid regardless what puppet is in office.

Wow, some people have absolutely no clue. Clinton had Osama handed to him on a platter, but did nothing. We have known about him for a LONG time. Try Checking out the Iran Contra Affair once. Check to see who Oliver North named as the sole reason why he spent $16,000 on a home security system.

If people actually know what they are talking about and are a democrat, fine. Every one on here has not known the facts or refuted any arguements with facts. Don't just spout your opinion, back it up with something.

The terrorist he mentioned was a Libyan named Abu Nidal not Osama Bin Laden. The Oliver North/Osama Bin Laden connection is just bullshit scare tactic propaganda.

LightningGSX 11-03-2004 09:03 PM

Bin Laden was actually an "ally" of the US, up until the early 90's.We even funded Bin Laden(recruited originally by the CIA) and the afghan resistance with 2.1 billion during the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan.

LightningGSX 11-03-2004 09:47 PM

It never ceases to amaze me how most of you liberal democrats believe, even a small fraction of, this shit.

There will not be a draft, our military is huge, millions of troops, why would a few hundred thousand troops we have in the middle east make a draft necessary?

9/11 hurt our economy, not Bush.I think its pretty damn good considering what happened on 9/11.

National security under Bush was not any worse than it was under any other president, relative to the times.

No shit.Even if for some remote reason, the draft was enacted again, shut the fuck up and go fight(and possibly die) like millions of Americans did before you, not because they believed in their president, but because they believed in their country.

damn, im lucky he won!

OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT:

The Republicans today announced that they are changing
their emblem from an elephant to a CONDOM because it
more accurately reflects their political stance.

A condom allows for inflation, halts production, destroys
the next generation, protects a bunch of pricks, and gives
you a sense of security while you're actually being screwed.

"Damn, it just doesn't get more accurate than that."

CVD 11-04-2004 04:57 PM

And the Democratic Party recently changed it's seal:

Matt D. 11-04-2004 05:01 PM

WTF is Tom doing whining about who is in office? HE DIDN'T EVEN VOTE. Hell, why do you all care that Bush won? Kerry won in Minnesota, right? So what's the point? Go bitch on some national forum where more people can tell you to STFU.

I didn't vote, and don't care if we had Kerry in office right now or not. Personally, I like change, but as far as this presidency goes I would have rather seen Bush get a second term in an effort to fix the "problems" as some of you call them, rather than a drastic political change that a new president would have brought on.

Why didn't I vote? Because I didn't want to. I felt that neither Bush nor Kerry supported my interests well enough to deserve my support.

2003eclipse 11-04-2004 06:29 PM

It never ceases to amaze me how many broke ass mother fuckers are republicans, just because of their religion and the fact they think war is the thing to do. Why can people not seperate religion from politics. Bush is a peice of shit Kerry was not the best democrat for the job either but Bush is a tool. Bring back Clinton to straighten everything out.

Mr Raced 11-04-2004 06:38 PM

Joe you didnt vote you cant complain, lol im just messing with ya

npaulseth 11-04-2004 07:11 PM

I have heard Bush say there will be no draft while he is in office. I never thought the draft would come into play. Anyone that generalizes a party like the people above are either not smart, or only listen to key people.

A//// Guy 11-04-2004 07:35 PM

HAHA Bring back Clinton? HAHAH you made my day.

I found it interesting that all the freaking states won by the democrats this year where places with huge cities filled with money. All the Northeast Coast, West Coast, and MN.

All the republican states where small states where people actually work there asses off to make a living. Doesnt make sense does it???? Democrats complain but they are really just the sheltered served people.

Religion really had nothing to do with my stance with Bush. Kerry is the tool; Sure we solve all the problems on the domestic side. Money never seemed to be a problem... I see it as a big one because where is Kerry going to pull all the money out of? His butt?

If you think Bush is there on the religious vote you are wrong. I know of not a single person who voted for him based on that, and 90% of the people I know who voted for him are not even religious.
I consider myself a broke ass mutherfucker. Why should I be a democrat? Because I'll get handouts taken from the pockets of people who have more than me? Just because the Gov't does it dont mean it aint stealing.

To me the Republican Party means freedom. The Democratic party means mild socialism.

Clinton - I got nothing against the guy as pres, but I do think his foreign policy blew ass, and helped us get in the shit sling we're in now.

LOL. ahh, that's good, did you mean the origional draft bill? that's not the issue. what i think he was getting at was re-instating the draft. and the patriot act which i'm sure you fully support says something along the lines of: if you dodge the draft, you are basically guilty of treason, if you leave the country, you can't come back. and it added a slew of back-door draft measures for already enlisted men and women, ever notice how there are troops who were supposed to come home from iraq, but couldn't because they were forced to stay? government regulations!

as for the scare tactic, eehhhh, i dunno, cause with the patriot act, it became an issue again. it kinda brought itself back into the spotlight.

but i am with you here: if they did start the draft up again, I'd be there. just cause right now, i have nothing better to do. no girlfriend. mostly broke. w00t, i'm what the gov. is looking for!

actually, the fact that he is so religious plays a HUGE part in how people vote. he said that he believes God told him to do certain things. he said that. being an evengelical christian, he is under the impression that whatever he does, God approves. your average church going right-leaning voter gobbles this stuff up. it really does help for votes.

To me the republican party means Facism. The Democratic party means freedom - freedom of choice. under rightist republican control, people have FEWER choices, take gay marriage for example, how about abortions?

Bush - I have a lot against him as president, his foreign policy is "shoot first, ask permission later, I don't give a rats ass if Poland doesn't stay with us, as long as tony blair says, "aye OK, matey" were fine! where's my OIL bitches?"

sorry about the quick double posting. as you can see, i feel differently than most people on this board.

CVD 11-04-2004 10:27 PM

Gay marriage and abortions are a couple of things that i dont agree with, but they have less to do with me. Also, gay marriage will eventually be legal no matter what. And abortions ARE legal. I got a clue for you though, once they pry the guns away from every last citizen in this country do you think that they will EVER get them back? And I mean ever. The democrats stand to take away far more personal rights in the name of safety than the republicans could ever hope to in the name of morality. I dont agree with either, but I'm not gay and i'm not carrying an illegitimate child so that makes it a real easy choice.

Also, from what I see the republicans give you every opportunity to do the right thing (or if you choose, the wrong thing). But if you fuck up you aint going to get the chance ever again. With Dems it seems like they try to keep you from doing anything in the first place, but if you do fuck up, oh well its ok. try harder next time.

"The desire for safety stands against every great and noble enterprise." Publius Cornelius Tacitus
