Okay so my buudy has a 90 hatch dx with the d15 he did a multiport swap and he turboed the d15 so im thinking like idiot right... NO I drove it because he didnt think it was running right so i made a couple tweaks with turboedit(just came out sweet obd0 tuning for honda's) So going down the road and he wasnt boosting till 4000 rpm but when i hit the boost it hit like a train and in second gear on a dx tranny he just lit em up in the middle of the gear. He is only running 8 1/2 pounds of boost but it is getting me thinking...

Turboedit is very sweet indeed, makes all the difference. Also knowing that if your engine blows up you can get a new one for free doesn't hurt either. I do have an SI tranny laying around if your buddy would want it.

You want to see a turbo'd D15 in a Del Slo? Nate from PIK just about has his done, he expects close to 200hp, and it would be fun as hell to drive, and it looks nice with all that bling! :D

Alright, that engine barely has 100hp stock, so if he can achieve 200hp out of it, that's a 100% increase in hp. Now factor that into a small and light little Honda and I bet it will be fun to drive. I haven't driven a boosted Honda so it should be interesting.
Now, BTW, I am a DSM kinda guy, and I like MY turbo'd car, but I bet this car will be fun to rip around in. Ya know, people that can't "LIKE" any other kind of car but the one they have are funny. Damn, enjoy more than just your dsm's, there ARE other nice rides out there ya know. :razz2: BTW, I believe he should have tossed an SI motor in there, as it would be a better engine to boost, but he is building this on a budget and has only like $3000 into so far. :woowoo: |
Actually, del sols are the heaviest honda made based on the civic platform.

well my buddy makes a good point out of the d15 has a better rod stoke ratio than the d16 so it can take the boost alot better and in theoretical(sp?0 horpower he should be putting just over 200 at the flywheel 8 1/2 pounds of boost on a stock 100 hp motor

If your buddy is already using uberdata (or whatever eeprom program) he'll have some decent #'s depending on turbo/supporting mods. I wouldn't push the 1.5 to much though. If you want more info on my tranny let me know, I also have a lot of honda parts to clear out.
