JustROLLIN 09-22-2004 12:34 AM

205mph, wow... That is freaking insane.

illz 09-22-2004 12:39 AM

that reminds me a bit of this guy:

http://www.illz.net/realbusa.avi

this is a segment i clipped out of the Ghostrider DVD .. it's a 500HP turbo Hayabusa

500HP

in the clip, he does power wheelies at 180+ mph (speedo is in kph), in the rain

DSM97RS 09-22-2004 05:30 AM

holy shit! its true! i was watching two wheel tuesday today on speed channel and he said someone from minnesota got a ticket for 205mph. moto gp bikes cost around 1million a bike and they JUST reached the 200 mph mark earlier this year i believe. awesome stuff

Kracka 09-22-2004 12:01 PM

Dude should have kept going :)

huh???

the first year the hayabusa gsxr-1300 was released it did 200mph stock

Raptor 09-22-2004 01:42 PM

This was a honduh 1000 from what I heard. Right after the guy got the ticket, he called 93X and told them, it was funny and I don't think anyone believed it. But then I read about it on KSTP, funny stuff. The guy was 20 and got a no endorsement ticket as well. He slowed down to 100 to let his friend catch up and the heli had troopers waiting on the highway ahead of him. It will be interesting to see what the fines ended up.

Who from this site is gonna try and break it?

The thing is I know who this kid is. He used to work with me before he was fired. But anyway there is no way his bike could do anywhere near 200 mph. So I am going to say the highly technical measurement of stop watch and counting whites lines may be off just a tad bit on this one. The kid rode a Rc51 which is a v twin 1000 nothing like the CBR1000 which is the inline 4 which btw would still not even come close to 200mph without major modifications. They are pretty comparable to a 600 on top end maybe a little quicker. And this kids bike was not really modified either just slip on mufflers.

A//// Guy 09-22-2004 02:35 PM

Yea im sure their measurement is a bit off but.

LightningGSX 09-22-2004 02:47 PM

I guess, whatever bike he was on, had a max speed of 179 mph(according to the manufacturer). That and the publicity this incident is getting, coupled with how inaccurate VASCAR is at high speed, will make for an interesting court battle.

SlowWhite 09-22-2004 02:53 PM

Well I would have tried to go for the record the other day - but I came up on my exit to quick. And I wasn't about to keep going based on what was going on at that time. But I'll just say my GSX can at least go as High as I've had my GS-T.

For those that have known me for a while know how fast I've had my GS-T upto.

1slowdsm 09-22-2004 02:57 PM

Since I dont know you, I'm gonna have to ask. How high was that?

Is it possible for a non-turbo Plymouth Laser RS to reach a top speed of 156 stock? There was this kid who used to go to my school who said he got his car up to 156...I didnt believe him at all.

A//// Guy 09-22-2004 03:04 PM

^ haha NO.

Enes 09-22-2004 03:04 PM

doubt it, and if it did, it would have to go down hill with Ivan storm winds blowing behind him helping him..

Enes 09-22-2004 03:05 PM

i've not burried my spedo yet, but i was very very close.. if my EGT warning light didn't turn red i would of burried it, but since it got to about 920 i backed off very close to burying it ;)

niterydr 09-22-2004 03:26 PM

I'll try to top it when my car is back together..
...at the salt flats ;).

SlowWhite 09-22-2004 03:31 PM

I'll join you and we'll get it on tape.

By the way I love the car in your avatar.

niterydr 09-22-2004 03:34 PM

haha, puma GTO destroyed the circuit before it got 'outlawed/outclassed/abandoned'.
modded and 2400lbs setup to carve corners like mad...who wouldn't like it?

He must have done a search.

This is funny---> "Tilley, the son of a sheriff's deputy, displaces William Faenza at the top of TSG's speediest driver list."

Enes 09-22-2004 10:18 PM

here you go ladies and gentlmen.. its been done..

Enes 09-22-2004 10:19 PM

ignore the oil preasure gauge, the wire falls off the damn oil preasure sensor..

i added soo much fuel up top but it still got to 910 egt's it kept climbing and climbing.. finally i got up past 170 mark and i kept going until it started bouncing off the rpm limiter.. yup..

A//// Guy 09-22-2004 10:46 PM

Why is your coolant guage showing cold? Also boost guage doing nothing? And WHY would you not fix the oil pressure guage before doing that type of stunt? So what if something happened and your oil pressure really was nothing?

Nice job but that is scary if you really pegged the needle.

npaulseth 09-22-2004 10:49 PM

edited for stupidness...

thats how it is usualy.. the dsmlink showed 193 to 196 that run..

got up to 206 on top of the run..

the boost gauge.. changed in dsmlink to display voltage..

even if i did fix the oil preasure vire falls off if i go faster than 100 from the air.. i don't have the plastic clip to keep it on..

If something hapend to the 7 bolt i'd tow the car home and put it in storage and start on the 6 bolt ;) early retirement for this year..

wtf isn't that pegging the needle?

carltalon 09-22-2004 11:04 PM

YOUR NUTZ I want to see the log from the dsm link

FattyBoomBatty 09-22-2004 11:04 PM

there is something to be said for the power of a car that can pop off a 170+ mph run and not sweat it too much. and 910 degrees for egt? isn't that fairly low? i thought 1500 or so was normal.

Enes 09-22-2004 11:14 PM

Celsius degrees.. not F ... thats 1670 F

I can see the tape that you used on the gauges to hold them in place.

A//// Guy 09-23-2004 12:28 AM

It is hard to believe but enes is really crazy at times so Im not sure haha.

It looks real except you have 0 gas left, guages are all fucked up.. I dunno.

I cant see tape though?

And I would think it would be really really hard to take a pic that good going 160+mph...
