On Sept 9, the anniversary of the communist regime, a 2.5 mile in diameter mushroom cloud was spotted over N Korea near a ballistic missile base. The explosion was big enough to leave a crater visible from space. It supposedly wasn't a nuclear blast, so I'm hoping they had an accident and blew themselves up.

I read this late last night... They also speculated that it could have been a forest fire.

Thats the official US government explanation.

Somebody probably just imported a DSM and tried starting it.

Sure it wasn't a vtec malfunction?

whoops, my bad :).
Thats just crazy. |
If it was a nuclear blast, it would have been the first one since 1980 (done by China).

|
shit.. did i do that?

Well it would be cool if there where pics to help put the event into relativity with the surounding area. Also, too show the over all size.

The Prospect of N Korea having Nuclear weapons is just way too fuckin scary. A communist regime that would want nothing more than to attack the US main land, and test nuclear weapons in bad. This could be our next Iraq if we don't do something diplomatic. Iraq sent a bad message to N Korea. We Invade Iraq which has NO nuclear weapons, but we continue to beat around the bush with N Korea.
Come On. A forest fire? Demolition? Crater from Space? I wish Bush wouldn't lie about things like this. It's probably just so we don't panic, or to downplay and patronize N Korea, but lying to anyone about anything right now can only hurt Bush. |
Even worse, a communist regime headed by a 4 ft fucked-in-the-head guy with a napolean complex.
BTW I checked all the online seismographs I could find, none of them registered anything that day, so if it was an explosion, it wasn't nuclear. |

The majority of N Koreas revenue is spent on their military. They have an easy million+(I have read up to 1.6 million) troops.A very capable air force.A capable navy including submarines.Ballistic missiles, with probably nuclear warheads. They also have extensive strategies for defending(extensive offensive strategies too) against attacks from the US. KIM jong has made it clear they will attack the US by any and all means, total war, if we take any military action. These guys won't surrender by the thousands as soon as they see one of their buddies blown up either, they will fight to the end.And we are limited in our use of WMDs by fact they are so close to S Korea. |
I totally agree with Eric, going to war with N Korea would be a very bloody war.

We're talking about N Korea and you post a link about Iraq? Anyway , Wow alot of people have died in Iraq, where did you find this breaking news? |

The whole war is defintely a mess. I wish people would stop focusing on the past and start putting more effort into figuring out how to fix the problems. |

You love just playing games dont you..
Post what you really fricking think or are trying to say. All wars are bloody... but is that 10000 count just from the US killing civilians or is it becuase suicide attackers try and kill us over there and blew up everyone else around them?? Hmm I think thats it. Everyday I get on the computer and go to my homepage of Yahoo and there is a news link on the right about another murder/suicide/bombing/attack and someones dead in Iraq. |

Hmm... Ahh either way we are causing it. They are trying to blow US troops, it is a WAR, however pointless, and the civilians are bystanders. Congratulations, you can thank GW for that. |

Whats worse: Losing tens(possible hundreds) of thousands of your fellow citizens to a tyrant, who can kidnap, torture, and kill anyone he wants, for any reason he wants? Or losing thousands of your fellow citizens in the fight for freedom? Now, as always, freedom is payed for in blood. This is getting rediculous, even though the majority of Iraqis support our efforts, and their future looks far better than it ever did before, there has to be some ignorant liberal protesters, like yourself, crying about everything. Like the saying goes: America, love it or leave it. |
how many of you have been thru a war?
how many of you have been run out of your homes? how many of you had a lot of your family members killed? how many of you were in concentrtion camps? how many of you have suffered thru famin and homelesness? how many of you watched people die in front of you? how many of you have seen father bury his whole family and cry the whole time while burying them in their own back yard? how many of you have lost everything you own and start all over again in a new place with nothing but the clothes on you? how many of you sit behind your computers and argue about things you only have seen on tv.. i am guilty of assuming a lot of things in life.... and have made many mistakes in my life.. Many times i open my mouth when i should just keep it closed.. but sometimes you have to speak out and maybe some of the shielded people of the world maybe, just maybe would think of the other people who are suffering right this moment while you are reading this.. its late and i'm out to my bed in which i can sleep peacefully knowing that no one will come thru the door to kill me and my family... that is what drives me forward in this new place i call home.. -E |
I've never been through those things, and its tragic that any person has to go through those things.
Before we went into Iraq, these things were happening to Iraqis, and the only thing they had to look forward to, were those same things happening over and over again. Now, since GW made his "big mistake", Iraqis have a future, where things like that don't have to happen. Personally, I think no price is to big for freedom. |
fuk it..
|
They can't have it but we can...
it doesn't go that way... world will not be safe until there is one governing body overlooking all of it. But knowing how cruel and selfish and power hungry humans are that will never hapen.. -E |
Sorry I guess I'm confused if you are arguing for or against what is happening, maybe I'm slow i dunno. I have been to war yes, but that's about it out of the list you made, but I think we are fighting for a good thing and I support the cause fully. Lives are being lost, but atleast they are being lost for a good cause and not just lost because an evil tyrant says so.
