Well, my '94 TSi just got towed away today so now I am officially DSMless. Deffinately kind of a sad feeling, but I felt it was something I needed to get out from under; time to move on to the next project I suppose. Someone on this board is lucky enough to now be in possession of it and I wish him the best of luck, I know he'll turn it into a great car once again.

He sure did.....suspension, built tranny, and all.

john 09-05-2004 12:39 AM

It wasn't a good running dsm anymore. That is why it was parted. I am considering the same with my 92 now.

Kracka 09-05-2004 01:57 AM

With the exception of a rod-bearing, everything was great with the car.

Jakey 09-06-2004 02:17 PM

What are you going to purchase now Chris?

Kracka 09-06-2004 04:06 PM

Oh I have something nice picked out ;)

fievel 09-06-2004 05:19 PM

Atleast it wasn't a big problem with the car :stick: 7 bolt right?

Enes 09-06-2004 05:30 PM

s2k most likely?

-E

niterydr 09-06-2004 07:04 PM

s2k or 3000gt vr4 was the running leaders last time I heard.

A//// Guy 09-06-2004 07:16 PM

Something "reliable" I assume. Although a DSM with 160k on it fairly modded seemed quite reliable to me. Things break and thats how it works with old cars, especially ones that are modded. ;)

Good luck with the new car.

I vote 3gt

Kracka 09-06-2004 08:00 PM

It was a 7-bolt, but that had nothing to do with the failure. My head studs had streched allowing coolant in to the engine oil causing the rod bearing to fail.

Kracka 09-06-2004 08:02 PM

There will deffinately be no 3/S in my future, decided I want to get something newer than a 90's car. I test drove and EVO8, and to be honest, I was not impressed. Reminded me a lot like a stock DSM...fairly bland and boring requiring mods before it can truely be a fun car.

FattyBoomBatty 09-06-2004 08:17 PM

so, you're going to get a porsche 911 turbo? they are fast and handle great out of the box. the only problem is the price. but i bet you could steal one someplace.

A//// Guy 09-06-2004 08:36 PM

Evo 8 reminds you of a dsm? How could that be? They only have engine components that are almost identicle ;)

Kracka 09-06-2004 08:41 PM

Cool, two unintelligent posts in a row.

ecotech>double vtec

A//// Guy 09-06-2004 09:03 PM

Your a funny guy Hughes. Anything that gets modded has a lowered life span. I just dont get your ideas but whatever...

Kracka 09-06-2004 09:26 PM

Exactly...thats why I don't want to get an EVO, or especially a 3/S since they are already old(er). Stock/near stock and fun, thats what it will be all about.

Nothing beats double VTEC, nothing!

I see hughes as a SRT4 guy, checked one out?

Looked at them...no thanks. The seats were really uncomfortable and the interiors weren't any nicer than a base Neon. The power for the money really can't be beat, but it just isn't my thing. I liked the MS Proteges much better than the SRT-4's, but I am really not interested in owning any car that is just a reworked econobox.

Goat Blower 09-06-2004 10:25 PM

I've been seeing quite a few of what you're interested in. I haven't looked close since I thought you had one already. Let me know if you're still looking for one.

Thanks Steve. I've decided to wait until next spring before I do anything, save up a bit more money and get the nicest/newest one I can.

I think I am going to miss your sarcasm and remarks if you ever leave the board, its great to scroll down and see the sarcastic thought in my head already posted.

x1genx 09-08-2004 09:07 PM

go double vtec...

SuperSleeper 09-08-2004 09:40 PM

If we cut your feet off at the ankles, you could get a Mazdaspeed Miata for the price of a used S2K. At least you could stick to your turbocharged roots then... I dunno.

Super Bleeder!! 09-08-2004 10:34 PM

he's gonna break down at get a ULEV, we all know this

I deffinately like the MSP, but I am tired of these sudo-sports cars. I don't want some 4-door sedan that has been reworked to make it fun and sporty, I want a ground-up sports car. I actually almost bought one b/c the dealership only wanted $17.9k for a '03.5, but I just decided I would be even happier with something I truely want rather than something that I could settle with and just be happy.

S2k is actually only LEV certified.
