To start things off for the family this past week, Randy's pride and joy was stolen broad daylight out of his garage. To view pictures of this car visit the following link.
Randys 66gto Keap your eyes and ears open for this one of a kind car I'm sure it is never to be seen again but it would just be great to help this car get returned to the family.

To make things worse Randy was flying near Webster WI. when his plane went down. All I know of right now is that the plane crashed they found his breifcase and wallet and are awaiting identification of the body from his wife.

A few of you may know him I only had met him a handful of times and he was a great guy with a wonderful family, He leaves behind I believe a wife and two children.

thats horrible, omg

SlowWhite 08-13-2004 12:29 PM

Wow - I've met him a few times down at Porky's - heard about the plane crash yesterday on the news but didn't realize who it was.

A for that car - I bet it will never be seen again. But the motor probably will in some other car.

Wonder what the insurance company thinks. - hope the family gets the money for the stolen car, etc.

TalonFiero 08-13-2004 04:24 PM

Damn, I have met Randy quite a few times as my girlfriend has a lot of family that lives in St. Anthony. Her family is pretty choked up over this incident.

Wow, definitely not cool. I believe I met him when I was at Porky's with Brian and Jenny one night, the car was absolutely gorgeous.

2003eclipse 08-13-2004 04:55 PM

I found a few arcticles about the incident but they all state the same facts. Thursday at 4pm in Webster WI.

jpretz 08-13-2004 06:29 PM

anyone watch kare 11 tonight (last night), they did a story on the death and missing gto. it turns out, eye witnesses saw his trailer at his house the weekend it was reported missing and he told police he was out of town all weekend. the police station filed a false police claim report a few days before he crashed. Anyone have ANY info on this?

JDM 08-20-2004 08:33 AM

You're skating on thin ice...

This IS the department I work for.

Police cannot file a report, citizens file reports with us.

You can direct all questions to Captain John Ohl

I cannot comment further.

CDeutsch 08-20-2004 08:38 AM

The police didn't file the alleged false report the mayor did.
http://wcco.com/topstories/local_story_232171830.html

IF it's true, it sounds pretty disgraceful to me.

JDM 08-20-2004 08:44 AM

A few of us here knew him personally...

To comment on the case, fine.

To comment on the man is unwarranted.

This whole thing sucks.

1ViciousGSX 08-20-2004 09:03 AM

I didn't know him of course, and I hope I'm wrong on this. But I wonder if he was getting into financial trouble and making false insurance claims to get money? If that were true, I wonder if the plane going down was really an accident or suicide? It's just a strange coincidence to me. My best wishes go out to the family of course. This has to be a big shock to them. :grouphug:

No one asked you to comment. We're sorry you're taking it so hard, but you know as well as anyone else that people like to assume, draw up conclusions and stir the rumor mill.

Do not trust media much.. they can make a good thing look really really bad!! or a mouse becomes an elefant and a ant becomes the mouse! the elefant that was there never existed and they were flying in a one man plane to havaii..

everything you hear on TV take it with a grain of salt... i do not like business where they lie to you to get you to watch them, aka american media , just to get their ratings up...

My take of it..
He reported his car stolen, filed a claim, car was found at a "detail" shop, he "forgot" it was there. He told the police everything.
Then his plane crashes suddenly with just him in it.

Everyone I was talking to before the report of the car being found thought it was weird the whole car deal and plane crash 3 days apart or whatever...

Death sux, but somthing here is deff out of the norm IMO.

Sorry, but this quote from the article bothers me and should bother any other honest person who pays high insurance premiums.

Quote:

Hodson had reported the theft of another expensive vehicle before, to Roseville police, and they found an extensive list of claims by Hodson with the National Insurance Crime Bureau.
I hope it's not true, but something defintely doesn't sound right.

SlowWhite 08-20-2004 02:22 PM

Honestly most people who met him in the car scene are all wondering/thinking the same thing.

There is to much coincedence that his car got stolen and then his plane crash's in the same week.

Most threads I've read on other boards are all thinking a like. Alot of people are wondering if he had a Life Insurance policy. Which most people believe he does.
Since he was rather well off so to speak.

In which case that also adds to things. Personally I didn't know him, I've seen the car that he bought several times down at porky's and that's about it.

However I'll admit my first thought when I heard this whole thing was anyone checking into the wife recent behaviors, etc?

illz 08-20-2004 02:37 PM

sounds like he was already in the habit of false claims based on his investigations. couple that with the 'how the fuck do you steal a car like that??' factor and asking 'what if i remembered it was at a detail shop' and you've got a nice suicide motive. makes for a good 10 o'clock expose anyway. elected officials are the best

Emcee gsxtc 08-20-2004 02:45 PM

Saw the article from this mornings tribune. Fist thing I thought of is conspiracy theory, or is that how the media chooses to portray it. I didn't know him or of him, so I would never make a comment about him. Yes the dealings do sound shady but how old was he? 47. That is a little early for Alzheimers although it could happen. There is a lot of speculation, but my thought is if he really is dead. The news reports can say whatever they want, I still wonder. All in all it is sad really that anything would lead to events happening this way no matter what the truth or outcome is.

2003eclipse 08-20-2004 03:54 PM

This whole thread should just be stopped, Its obvious to what you are all thinking and just trying to potray it as your nuetral and such. Even if this is all true that this was his way out of trouble, Your go from such an honored man one day to just being a run of the mill puke because the media is saying all of this. Whats so wrong with trying to save your pride and dignity and trying to save face from your community and your family. Planes crash especialy small personal planes its not uncommon. I do not think this man would run out on his problems by killing himself, run out on a family. A lot of people commit insurance fraud I can think of one a couple on this board, so why all of the sudden when this guy does it its a conspiracy.
A man is dead and now to the media he is considered a disgrace, can you not let a man die with what pride he had left.

-joe

CDeutsch 08-20-2004 04:03 PM

If he did intentionally kill himself I have no issue with that. I personally don't care (other than feeling sorry for all involved) and it wouldn't change my opinion of him either way. The insurance fraud is what I was referring to when I said it was disgraceful (I should have been more specific). I fucking hate thieves more than just about anything.
