Re: Im a trader...
Well the thought was there when you made the thread title but traitor is the word you're looking for rather than "trader". Unless you traded one of your cars for this then I have to say; 1. Damn & 2. Damn. I'm sure this isn't the case however. How'd you manage to get one of these? It seems you have quite a few parts left and a little bird has told me they're waiting on reimbursement in the form of cash for one of your previous transactions. Might want to get on that.
I myself have been considering a 90's Impreza 2.5RS just for winter and such. That's neither here nor there at the moment however. I get to travel from Fargo to Bemidji once a week, every week, thru December to retake a class. If you plan on taking this thing to extreme levels I know Aric at MAP will be happy to build you an engine. I have been told he does a LOT of Subaru work. Not sure about the obligatory Subaru neon/bright colored wheels but it looks like a decent looking car nonetheless. |
Re: Im a trader...
Not to be a dick or anything Chayce but it really isnt anyones busness to know how i got it lol. I just work my ass off becuase you have to work for what you want. Thats my beleif anyways haha. And id also like to know who this little bird is ?? Because im not the guy to screw somebody over unless they have f*kd me over also.

Re: Im a trader...
Contact Brandito93 on here or I can forward his contact information to you via Facebook. I don't believe he would be one to screw one over. Plus he was on the selling end of a shell if this helps ring a bell.

Re: Im a trader...
Dang serious accusations....serious-er ride! Take it 2 pm's guys the forum in my opinion has enough hate...or start a fresh good/bad guy thread. See NF for baseline tune ect 2 once you are use to the car.

Re: Im a trader...
All issues should be solved soon.
|
Re: Im a trader...
"Trader"
What did you trade for those horrible purple wheels? My guess is your common sense. :) |
Re: Im a trader...
Technically they are blue. Not purple lol.
|
Re: Im a trader...
Blurple to me. I like the matte pearl white though. That's cool. Congrats!
|
Re: Im a trader...
Nothing wrong with a Subaru, a buddy of mine has one and it's fast in it's own right. I'm sure you will like it.
|
Re: Im a trader...
Thank you for some positive comments guys !! They are a bluish purple in a way depends on the angle haha. And i do like it alot already its definantly different than mitsus.
|
Re: Im a trader...
At least it's a change, learn some different modding. I think the color of the wheels could be changed but to each their own. The only thing about modding a Subaru is I hear that parts can be more expensive.
Not sure why DSMINMN needs to bring drama to this...wow. |
Re: Im a trader...
I do think it's funny that you think this will somehow be cheaper to own than a DSM. You'll soon find out otherwise, Scoobies aren't cheap. :D
|
Re: Im a trader...
Nice pick up! But Steve is correct on the cheaper to own than a DSM. All you need to do is change your signature or are you thinking about traitoring it soon and come back to the dark side.
|
Re: Im a trader...
Might be more reliable though.
|
Re: Im a trader...
Reliable because it's so expensive and a pita to mod. haha

Re: Im a trader...
Cheaper in a way i mean i wont be buying a new dsm every month haha. Ill keep this car for awhile. I have some smaller plans for it over the winter so well see were that brings it. I do still have my 2 dsms sitting at home also with built motors sitting in my garage.

Re: Im a trader...
Here is about the cheapest mod you can get and everybody will love it!

Re: Im a trader...
Nah you need rockstar bruhh
|
Re: Im a trader...
Yeah, a 3-year old car is generally more reliable than 23-year old car.
|
Re: Im a trader...
More of a joke than anything.
|
Re: Im a trader...
I did a 9 hour endurance race with a 1G DSM. Went fine. Run a 9 hour race with a 100% stock STI and I bet the pistons don't live through it.
|
Re: Im a trader...
Well geeze maybe i should take out the reliability part. Its not like the car is going to be a full on race car.
|
Re: Im a trader...
If you don't build your engine in a sandbox and put on worn out used Ebay parts, DSM's are actually very reliable.

Start saving for a rebuild Tyler! Factory tunes and internals on these things are scary. It only took Subaru 20 years to figure out how to make an engine when they came out with the FA20 |
Re: Im a trader...
I agree dsms are reliable if you do them right and accually. Spend the money on reliable parts.
And mike ill be getting another block to start a build on this winter for it |
Re: Im a trader...
My old panda car was reliable with 90k miles over 400/400 on that motor, stock bottom end that had 120 compression across the board.
That motor got pushed past 500whp and went MN to TX about 10 times. |
Re: Im a trader...
The pistons just suck on the EJ25. I don't know why Subaru never fixed the problem, but they did some many other things wrong with that engine also that it didn't matter. They had to add an exception to the Rally America rules for the STI in the Stock Production class to allow them to use aftermarket pistons because even though they run race gas and make less than stock HP(due to the turbo restrictor), they still broke pistons. The FA 20 motor seems a bit better and now the turbo is in a much close location to the heads to cut down on the lag caused by the 5 feet of piping to the turbo.
