This to me seems like it breaks the main points of gun control advocates... first of all you have a child who most likely has no gun experience grabbing there parents guns which I am assuming will be loaded... and then bringing it to school. Where do these idiots get these ideas..

Yup, all kinds of problems with this one.

1) You have a loaded firearm that is accessible to a child. In most states, this is illegal.
2) Kid doesn't unload the firearm.
3) Kid sticks loaded firearm in his backpack with out something to guard the trigger.
4) BRINGS A LOADED FIREARM TO SCHOOL.

Though I don't believe that we should be helping these fucktards in the ways that we do, we do in fact have fucktards in this world who can't take care of themselves. I fundamentally believe that at our core level, human beings are going to look out for their own interests first. And that left unchecked and uneducated, that tenancy towards self preservation turns in to excess, and greed.

And I agree that those who can't help themselves should get help. That's not a liberal idea, that's just the right thing to do. The difference is that liberalism believes that no man should be accountable for his own well being. So to protect everybody we need to put expensive programs in place, at the tax payers expense of course, to cover everybody. Just wait, you haven't seen anything yet (can you say Obamacare?).

You have no idea what the premise behind liberalism is. Its not the belief that a man cant take care of himself. Its the belief that there needs to be programs to help those in need, and that we are all human and we are in this together. A healthier country is a stronger country.
High taxation is a speaking point of the republican party yet taxes are lower than 20 - 30 years ago. 30 years ago, good luck finding home loans under 30%, and income taxes on the wealthy were up near 50%.
Im sorry but without government programs, and the spending we as a country do, you can say goodbye to roads, schools, hospitals, the military, and a crap load of other programs taxes pay for.
Yes there is a decent amount of the budget (about 13%) that is spent on safety net programs, but where would our economy have been in 2008-2012 without these programs. Families put out on the street with no hope of regaining their house, or livelihood.
How about the government stops subsidizing companies and creating a corporate welfare program, Let them fail, but no, every time a business fails the republicans scream.

I think we addressed the need to help those who need help already. It's not a liberal idea, its common sense.

Look around, does it look like a healthier country to you? Because of excessive government handouts you now have a permanent underclass of citizens protesting, destroying public property, looting, shooting cops, etc because the handouts aren't doing shit. Lets see, we have high unemployment (and yes it's higher than what you're being told) along side all the jobs that we keep hearing we need illegal immigration to fill because Americans won't do the jobs. Get their able to work lazy asses off unemplyment and free shit, then those jobs will be taken. Its not a safety net anyore, its a fucking lifestyle now. You want safety nets in place to help those in need yet you fail to realize the government is the one creating the "needy".

Lets see, the government sets the stage for the downturn in 2008 through high taxation along with screwed up regulations, and you want to give them credit for saving the day?

Set a flat tax for everybody, doesn't matter where the income comes from, it gets taxed at the same flat rate whether you make $100k or $100 million. I'm all for it.

There is a big difference between spending on infrastructure, military,etc., and government programs that create an underclass.

I agree, let bad businesses fail. Set an example for the rest.

Obama has done his fair share of investing in companies that fail... such as solar energy and green energy companies in 2012 to the tune of 90 billion.. with a B. Granted not all failed but some did. I do believe taxes have gone up since obama as well.

I'm not defending the video. I get the point it was trying to make, but it was poorly done.

Having said that, I do lean to the left with a lot of my views. But, I also spent 4 years in the Marine Corps and learned how to shoot. Since I live in a rural area, I still enjoy going in my backyard and firing off a few rounds occasionally.

I identify as a liberal and feel offended when I hear my position equated with retardation because of a video someone else did. It's one thing to disagree on viewpoints, it's another thing altogether to call names.

It is hard for me to think of one that thing that Obama has done well since taking office ( other than the 8k i received for buying a house ) but I can admit I'm a bit biased regarding that.

Everything else he has done has been surrounded by controversy and somethings potentially illegal ( immigration reform ). Which makes you wonder since we have so many people that are still below poverty, actual current tax paying Americans. But he is willing to take just under a billion in tax payer money to help fund that.

But back on topic, all of the ideas coming from liberal democrats to curb gun violence is either misinformed or the information is just plain untrue. Maybe using libtards is wrong, but in the end they have not proposed anything that actually makes me think they are using their brain. I know republicans or (inbred christian nutjobs) have come with ideas that help with pre-screening people purchasing firearms and perhaps training before being able to buy a gun. But simply banning certain weapons will not fix the problem.
