Feeler: Evo IX

As some of you know, I got some bad news about my car this afternoon. My Evo IX SE that I purchased new in 2007 has a bad case of crank walk.

I am contemplating just selling the car as-is. It may be time for me to move on and try something new.

Here is some quick info on the car.

2006 IX SE
Tarmac Black
~128k miles

Full exhaust
silicone intake pipe
I just replaced the turbo with a stock IX turbo this summer.
walboro 255
PTE 1000cc injectors

Car made 368hp 373tq at DB on e85.

I have two sets of wheelsL
Summer Tenzo 18X8 with new fusion tires last spring
Stock evo 8 wheels with Michelin snow tires.

If you have a serious offer please PM me.

Re: Feeler: Evo IX

^yup.

To clear up a couple shout box questions. The motor is in the car, but dead, it needs a new block. It is included and all the parts go with it. The oil pan is off of the car.

I have had a couple offers. get them in fast!

Ha, plenty more evo's where that came from. In any case, what price did you get for it?

Did Shawn buy another Evo to flip?
Buy a new car yet? Or what's on the short list?

Why wouldn't you share? I'm curious what evo's with blown motors go for... What incentive would you have not to share it after the fact?

Re: Feeler: Evo IX

I bought an Evo with a blown motor, it's not as profitable as I would've thought. If I did it again, I would've gotten a second opinion on a few things, that would've saved me a lot of coin.

I wouldn't tell the world what I paid for mine either. None of your damn business. :D

It is the new owners business. because inevitably someone will say it was to high or too low.... A price that was fair was agreed upon.

Re: Feeler: Evo IX

I guess asking how much a vehicle went for is the same as asking somebody how much they make as a living...never thought it was that serious ah well..very simple poor conditioned evo's sell as low as 11-13 k well maintained low mileage ones upwards of 19-21 k to drop another engine in costs about 7500 done at the dealer...just put a quick over the counter quote together the other day...bada bing bada boom it most likely sold between 7k-10k ...that tx2k what ever evo sold for insanely cheap who ever bought that made good call. I didnt think this was so serious untill such a firm stance was taken...but im just some guy reading through our forum which seems to becoming more and more sad to visit....as the Joker would say why so serious? Its just a car lol aint no body got time for all that attitude...heck, no bodys been pay banned in a while...looks like either...how about you go ahead and do that ROSE....for people inquiring of a numerical value of a car....

What i wanna know is what potentially caused the crank walk in a evo motor....that one is a little rare even to me any vehicle is prone to that issue but not THE EVO NOOOOOO!

Re: Feeler: Evo IX

You can get a used motor for 2-3k pretty easily. Plus/minus the labor for a swap.

cmspaz 02-19-2014 09:53 AM

Re: Feeler: Evo IX

It's honestly up to the owner to share what was paid, not the seller, if it wasn't a publically agreed upon price. I know how much, but obviously if the buyer wanted people to know he'd share.

Re: Feeler: Evo IX

It was me and why most of you know that I texted you all that my car is for sale.

I paid $12k for the car and both sets of wheels.
