Winter mods 2013/2014

What does everyone have planned for winter mods this year?

Here is my list:
15/16" CE28N wheels with Toyo Proxes RA1's
Replace unknown fuel filter (with hose ends) with FuelLab filter and -6 lines to match the rest of the fuel system
Fix order of pump and filter so the pump pushes through the filter instead of pulling
Install fuel level gauge
Install clam mounted APR wing in place of stock wing on hatch
Corner balance

Maybe:
OMP Superquadro wheel
Real CF roof if I can sell the stock roof and full mohawk roof

Re: Winter mods 2013/2014

I plan on saving money to have a driveshaft built for the truck and buy a new dipstick assembly for the transmission.

For the bike I need the fork seals replaced, front brake recall performed, oil change, and buy a brocks clutch mod. Maybe man up and get a turbo kit for the bike in the spring time

Re: Winter mods 2013/2014

Put motor in the drag r1 so I can drag race next year.

Would like to get an easy pull clutch lever for the new stunt bike. Then general clean up of the wiring and maybe paint it.

Get a trailer hitch for the gto.

Get my fatass back in shape so I can man handle the stunt bike a little better and go faster on the drag bike lol

What color volks you getting Andrew?

I didn't know you had two bikes now, what is the stunt bike?
Getting them in flat black. Thought it would hide brake dust the best haha.

Yea, had two r1's for a while then traded for the stunt bike plus some cash to save some money up over the winter. Stunt bike is just a normal bike but with a big crash cage, wheelie bar and other mods to make it easier to do tricks with.

Pretty funny video of me 2nd time out trying to learn slow wheelies:

:rollinglaugh:

Flat black should look sweet, especially if you get that carbon fiber roof! Your car is so nice

I don't know what I'll do. Either I'll pick up a shell and start the boosted V8 Datsun project, or, scrap the idea of building another fast car and put money into the Raptor for suspension and performance mods.

My plans?

Get motor in the beater.

Buy new tires come spring. That about sums it up :)

Oh, I need to replace a corner marker light that burned out and eventually take my car in for the CMC recall.

On the owdee -Timing belt, water pump, thermostat and housing, rear coolant valve replacement, VC gasket, and a bunch of other maintenance, figure out why my power steering started to make a grinding noise at full lock in the next few weeks.

Decide if I want to keep it come spring and replace it with something else. Or get a second summer car.

Re: Winter mods 2013/2014

Well, this winter is going to be a lot of changes for myself:

- New all aluminum exhaust (probably from STM, maybe have MAP build me a custom one) and testpipe.
- MAP rev 3 intake manifold (have already)
- MAP 64mm ported TB (have already)
- Zeitronix E85 ethanol content sensor and display (have already)
- AEM boost, fuel pressure gauges (have already)
- ID 1300cc injectors
- Radium wally 400 surge tank and new wally 255 in fuel tank with necessary lines/mounting
- Full Race IC and charge pipes
- Full Race 7670 EFR T4 TS turbo kit
- girodisc 2pc rotors (have rears already)
- New tunes!

Going to be a long winter, plenty of time to install all this. Most of it will come after tax return time :)

Not yet, it shipped yesterday, I will post some up when I get it for sure. Took a while as it was their first batch and they had to order replacement seals and what not to make sure it was good to go.

Re: Winter mods 2013/2014

You are planning on that t4 turbo in a couple months you will want to go to stock bolt on turbo and after a couple more months you will change your mind for a different turbo set up. You were talking about a ef3 or FP red like a month ago. Now you are back to t4 turbo. Pick something and stick with it.

And once more at the end of winter, middle of spring, beginning of summer, mid summer, and middle of fall. no big deal.

Oh, I almost forgot. I will eventually have to replace the burned out plate light on the Jetta. Eventually. Probably when they both burn out. Maybe not even then.

I would still have my other t4 kit if I wasn't in a money pinch. I have done the research and the EFR is what I am going to go with, very little chance of changing at this point. I was looking at stock frames before as I thought they were the only thing I could get the desired low end out of the car and I found a better way to do that with the 7670.

But hey, if it makes you feel better I will delete my turbo kit from my list.

Calm down Murlo just giving you a hard time. I am just jelly I can't swapping turbo set up after set up. I have hard enough getting my stuff back together when something breaks.

Re: Winter mods 2013/2014

Finish putting the new intake manifold setup on and work out any bugs. Install ID2000's. Finish cleaning up the wiring. Get it tuned. Install front/rear lips, side skirts, and spoiler. Get car painted.

Then hopefully enjoy it for a few years like that.

But I am pretty set on the new turbo to be honest.

'94 Colt; fix rust..?

'92 TSi; move. Do body work..sell..?

12 Valve; new tint, front tint visor, paint tail gate, get a decent head unit, better speakers, sub(s), K&N intake (or better), more fuel. :D

No no, just feel like I'd be on the hairy edge with the 1000's, so upgrading to something with a little more breathing room.

Re: Winter mods 2013/2014

Well I do have plans for the race car. I need a motor to last more then 1 season. So to do that I am going to limit my street boost to 40psi and running e98, plus a 75 shot if things go south. Then for track duty I will be going back to c/q16 and no more then a 150 shot, with any luck this will prove to add some reliability to the moon taxi, anything can happen at 8+ awhp per cubic inch. And all I want to do is back up my 9.45 run but now on slicks with a 1.5 60' vs 1.75 on drag radials, Any dang way back to posting Liana up dates.

Re: Winter mods 2013/2014

Get my 2.3 broke in and tuned. Then some new sticky tires for drag/autox and some road course action. Thats really about it. Maybe a JDM rear bumper if all goes well
