i can poorly comunicate at that point -never took it in school though. any ideas how to become fluent in a short time?

Buy one of those Learn Spanish In 7 Days books, or Spanish For Dummies.

It's impossible unless you already know the basis of it. If not.. good luck trying. I took 5 years and can just communicate to get by.

If you dont mind asking, why do you need to learn it immediately? just wondering. That could help the situation more or less

there are systems designed to get you verbally fluent by audio tape in a week. i'll look around for the name of them, there are 2 famous ones. they are the systems used by military and other government agencies when an operative needs to get up and running in a foreign language in as little time as possible. do some google searching and i'm sure you'll come across them

Remember when using any descriptive words, you end the word in "O" for males, and "A" for females. So boy is "CHICO" and young girl is "CHICA"

I took 4 years of Spanish in high school, and that's all the spanish that I know.

I took two years and don't remember anything. From living in Storm Lake, Iowa I've figured out how to tell if Spanish speaking citizens are talking about me though :P Anyone know how to say, Leave me alone, or not interested? Those are the two most important things to know to say in Storm Lake.
