MAP PG13.1 Pics, stories, fights, results and more!

Post'em on up! I had a freaking blast, car didn't run perfect but it ran well enough to keep a smile on my face! Great to see lots of familiar faces and get to know newer ones as well. LOTS of good guys out there. Great attitudes and everyone seemed to be having fun.

I raced both AutoX and Stock Appearing drag. Best drag run was 11.9@121.9mph, decent but my best is still 11.6@124.x with the BBX and I ran 126mph at one point too...will be spending the forseeable future trying to figure out why the car is being inconsistent. For now I'm happy, new motor is running great!

I beat Jeff R in the first round (sorry dude!) and lost to drag newb Chris/evotuner in the semi-finals when we both bogged off the line and his EF2.5 outspooled my EF4 in 1st gear...it was over after that!

AutoX was wicked fun as always, fast course with lots of crowd watching all around! I improved by a solid 4 seconds from my first run to my final run, finishing nearly dead last with a snail's pace 28.5 second time. I had a blast, these courses are setup for more responsive setups/smaller turbos and my ef4 was being good and laggy in 2nd gear...while it felt fine to me, I'm sure there is time to be shaved off with some insta-spool action!

Thanks MAP for another great event!

Just got home, big thanks to Ben and Wade for towing my shit heap home after blowing on the first drag pass.

Coasting past a viper that was at full throttle made me giggle in my helmet.

Re: MAP PG13.1 Pics, stories, fights, results and more!

Best drag pass was 12.565 @ 113.76, 1.9 60'. Surprised at the low mph but I didn't realize the drag coefficient was .434 on the Lotus, sort of sucks. Apparently removing the wing will add a few mph, I'll have to try that next time.

Best autox was a 25.9, felt like a creeper giving that young chick a ride-a-long haha.

On the road course it pulls really hard to 100, and after 120mph it doesn't accelerate all that fast, again that damn drag. Only got two timed laps on the road course and didn't get a clean lap in, best was 107 seconds. I know I could have done at least a 104 without making the big mistakes I did.

Drove 900 miles this weekend, knees and ankles get a bit sore on the long drive. Averaged 30mpg cruising and 11mpg at BIR. Overall a good weekend, I need to find a trailer for PG2.

got my scrap home after two passes. Hope to figure out why so much damage was done to the drivetrain. Fun though

I effed the video of the Stock Appearing final and got the cars rolling up to the line and that's it...sorry evotuner :(

I only took some random pics, they are here:

Me next to beaterX. She was in true form this weekend, front bumper hanging loose, dirty as hell with dirt/rain/mud but I have just under 1000 miles on the new motor now and she was happy as can be! My dad took this photo of me (not me & the car)...was hoping for more of a car shot but oh well.

After troubleshooting in the dirt I accidentally left my trouble light snug down near my downpipe. Obviously during the auto cross runs it bounced around a bit and started cuddling with it...how could you not? That MAP downpipe is soooo sexy!

My car was 100% ready and I had a great shot at taking my class too. However, I had a little accident on my pit bike at my campsite and my ring finger on my right hand went through the chain and sprocket, nipping the tip of the finger off… It happened Friday night, this was post surgery on Saturday!

A special thanks goes out to Dan Carey for letting me use your wifes car to get to the hospital Friday and Mr. Scheides for helping me pack up and load the car up on the trailer! This is the first time that I've been to the track and there is no follow up work to do to the car!

We had a good frum roll, they were pretty close from 30mph up to 90mph or so when you just blew by me, my timeslip seems to agree with the results, both about the same mph in the 1/8 but you destroy me on the back half:

Holy crap Mark, hope you are all better now.

I think they should move PG 1 or 2 weeks earlier in the year, always hot and humid.

It's a shame that Me, Dustin and Kevin didn't all Auto-X our Raptors. That shit would have been really funny.

More details mark. The chain is on the left side, how did you manage your right ring finger into the chain and sprocket?

Re: MAP PG13.1 Pics, stories, fights, results and more!

I didn't hear of any bad accidents, but I heard quite a few went a little off course because of the rain on Sunday morning. I did notice dirt on track at the inside of a couple corners and at the exits of a few corners as well, hit some and made the back end fish tail a bit.

The pit bike has a centrifugal belt drive clutch is on the left. The output of the clutch then goes to a jack shaft to a sprocket/chain drive on the right side. It’s a beast…It was a life changing weekend for me!

I think Pit vehicle accidents far out number track related accidents at any event. I have kinda grown to hate pit bikes and golf carts at events.

almost every track event I have been to requires a special permit for a pit bike/golf kart or just doesn't allow them at all.

I'm also against them, and even more so when alcohol is introduced and the majority of these people are young adults.

Fun time overall though. I really enjoyed watching TTS battle it out. Road Course was fun, and I had the most fun driving it in the rain Sunday morning.

What's that? Bench racing with real logic!?! You are totally right dude! I even specifically waited for the end of the third honk to go (and no brake boosting ) to get the full effect. So sweet, you and I bench test every car we own against each other :)

You've helped me so many times its the least I could do. I hope I didn't slip on this but the other thing I tried not to do was offer to drive your car for you down the track. Racing your own car is 90% of the fun and lots of people don't seem to get that.

Spaz Evo with weggy rims actually. Spaz had issues and weggy had some non-insane epic tires so they swapped for the day.

I didn't bring my car so I don't have an accurate comparison. Turn 1-3 is faster and MUCH smoother than before. Everyone I've talked with says 2-3 seconds. I think that is accurate too.

We should have drag results up on our event page (not FB) in the next day or two! Thanks everyone who attended, I am stoked that the weather held out and we got a ton of racing in!

Special thanks goes out to CWSCC for running what I would consider the absolute best part of this event year after year!

Yeah, sorry about that, anything I can do? The next day when I got out of the hospital I looked at the seat and the surrounding interior and didn't see any blood, although I didn't look up. Kind of funny, my wife saw the finger just after the accident and was super queasy. I drove to the hospital as she was in the passenger seat, feeling sick!
