Oil burnin' hauler - wife's new DD

We said good-bye to Rachael's Mini on Thursday last week, so I flew out to Ohio on Saturday and picked up a new(used) car!

It is a 2011 Audi A3 TDI. It has 22k miles on it. It has the premium plus, cold weather, and convince package. It is a really nice car. I averaged 43 mpg on the way home, going 70-80mph. We have some minor power/visual mods planned for it, but nothing crazy, just plan on driving it!

Thanks guys! We are really happy with it so far. I'll get some inside pics soon. It needs a few things (like carpet floor mats, tint....) that will be coming soon.

I need to get some tint, I might be able to get a hook up with tint pros, I can let you know if/when I do.

If you get something figured out let me know. I have a friend that wants tint as well.

I smell a Tint Pros tint day in the near future. Call these guys, setup a day and they will come out and take care of all of the cars they can. They do great work!

Once the bean is running, it too needs tint.

That's the plan, they work with my cousin's shop occasionally. But I will start a thread.

Did you get navigation?

Started a little work on the Audi this weekend. Got it tinted at 20% all around. Its a "Wagon" so the back is legal, the fronts are too bad with the sunroofs and windshield. It looks nice though. The interior stayed much cooler with the sun out this weekend.

Great choice, that car is super sexy! And that mpg! Incredible. Was it hard to find a diesel version of this car?

Depends on how picky you are! If you are picky about miles, hids, and interior or exterior color you most likely have to travel. There are a couple in the cities, here and there, but most are either higher miles or over priced.

Agreed, thanks.

I saw a black TDI like yours, but no tinted window.

But I should of known it wasn't tinted and I didn't get that gangsta feeling from looking at it.

Did some mudding (drove down some dirt roads to a cabin) and hauled some lumber in the Diesel this weekend... you know ndb truckstuff :)

Then I gave it a good cleaning.. it was in need!

A//// Guy 07-01-2013 11:59 AM

Re: Oil burnin' hauler - wife's new DD

hahaha hauled lumber and a snowmobile trailer with mine full of junk to the dump saturday too!

That thing looks so good! I will be sad once the wheels go black haha, love the contrast.

Finally got the RS3 style grill on the car last night. Went on pretty easy, only one bolt on each side was a pita to get to.

Not a huge difference but a nice subtle upgrade, and less chrome! I put the plates on after dark. Had to run and get better screws.

Here is a comparison of the old (with plate) and new:

And a couple installed pics: Car is super dirty, but we are going out of town next week with it... cant convince myself to wash off the water spots.

We also took the car to the Stevens Point area the week before last, and averaged 44-45 mpg!

That grill looks killer on there. I like that the badge is chrome with the outlines of the fogs. Gives it a really good look.

Sexy!! It does need a drop. Nothing major, maybe just some springs. The car is really getting better and better.

Thanks guys! Yeah it does need a drop... but Prob not till spring. The wheels are reps. I'm to cheap to spend that much on wheels for a mpg dd.
