2005 CBR
2 Attachment(s)
so i picked this bike up from simple sport bike. I plan on doing a lot with this bike in the next couple of years. Right now the bike has full exhaust and a power commander 3 USB. I ordered a bunch of parts over this weekend. I bought BMC race filter, pc ignition module, pc quick shifter, 9 inch swingarm extensions, 150 link chain, front and rear sprocket. I went down 1 tooth in the front and went up 3 teeth in the rear. Oh I also bought a nitrous kit for the bike this weekend too. Hopefully I can get all the parts installed and get the bike tuned before I go to Chicago in June.

hot damn!

Re: 2005 CBR
Trying to keep up with brad? Why get rid of the repsol if you got this bike?
|
Re: 2005 CBR
Shits going to scoot with those mods! Photo shoot once you get it all on. Two stretched black bikes on spray ftw!
|
Re: 2005 CBR
Let me know how the extensions turn out. I am looking at the same setup but want to see what you think before I order them. I assume they are similar to Brads setup?
|
Re: 2005 CBR
The extensions are similar to brads.
Pat even with the mods brad will be faster. |
Re: 2005 CBR
Little update today. My front sprocket came in the mail. I should get the rest of it tomorrow. Going to be a busy weekend.
|
Re: 2005 CBR
What gearing did you go with?
|
Re: 2005 CBR
I went 1 down 3 up. Iam stayed 530 chain instead of changing to a 520

Well I got most of my parts today in the mail. I installed my swingarm extensions, new sprockets, and new chain tonight. Once I get my air filter and quick shifter I will install the rest of my parts.
|
Re: 2005 CBR
Looks good Paul! Gearing really helped wake that thing up. Can't wait to see what it can do at the track!
|
Re: 2005 CBR
Looks good! When's the nitrous or boost coming? ;-)
|
Re: 2005 CBR
Hopefully in the next week I will have the nitrous installed. I have the nitrous kit just waiting for my air filter so I can knock everything out at one time. Its going to move on spray. I want to get it tuned before I go to Chicago for the half mile racing
|
Re: 2005 CBR
Wow I totally missed that you said you had a nitrous kit in your first post lol. Should be lots of fun when she's done!
|
Re: 2005 CBR
Well I installed the ignition module, quick shifter, and BMC race filters today. Had some problem with getting the quick shifter to work. But it works now but needs some adjustment. Hopefully the weather is nice Tuesday so I can get the bike on the dyno. Next weekend I will be installing the nitrous kit.

Lol. Its fast but not fast enough. Can't wait for next weekend so I can install the nitrous.

Re: 2005 CBR
Turbo kit ;-)
|
Re: 2005 CBR
If it was a gsxr I would turbo it. I can't stomach spending 5.5k on a turbo kit.
|
Re: 2005 CBR
Yeah that's up there. I think an rcc stage 1 for a busa/gxsr is like 4k. And those come with absolutely everything you need to get it up and running. Even a map for your power commander to get you up and running

My good gopro is gone forever. I have the 3 runs decent(as you can get from a Hero2), I'll edit it down and put it on youtube tomorrow. I was gone all day today and just got home like an hour ago.

Re: 2005 CBR
Went to last Tuesdays tonight. Got the bike bike on the dyno. Kinda bummed of the numbers it made. I hope a tune will help improve the numbers. It made 149.7 horsepower. I hope I can get at less 5 more HP out a tune but that's pulling teeth. Bike will be coming apart for the nitrous install. Hopefully I will have it done by Sunday. Will update with pictures next.
|
Re: 2005 CBR
How many miles are on the bike? I wouldn't be too bummed. Basic bolt ons on a bike usually only add maybe 5-10whp max. so I'd say you're right around where that bike should be. A tune will help and get that nitrous on there! That's where you'll get your power from.
|
Re: 2005 CBR
Those stick-on helmet mohawks look really really dumb imho. Sweet race though!

Re: 2005 CBR
My old CBR 1000 made 151hp and it only had a slip on. This bike has full exhaust and race filters so I was hoping to make more than what my old bike made. Plus this doesn't burn oil like my old bike. Nitrous and a tune will make me feel better. Might try extending my rev limiter on the bike since the power doesn't drop up top.
|
Re: 2005 CBR
That is crazy those things are that fast with that power, my friends 1000 makes 197whp and its not tuned yet.

Re: 2005 CBR
^ what kind of bike?

Re: 2005 CBR
Yes the BMW is a bad ass bike stock.
Both on a dyno jet but not on the same dyno. I know every dyno isn't the same. Just bummed that the bike didn't make what I was hoping it would make. I looked at the graph from the old bike and it was lean up top. I am pretty sure that it helped it make a little more power. Anyways I am going to install the nitrous this weekend. I plan on waiting to tune it after I get back from Chicago. When I get bike I will get it tuned and spray it. I might buy a multi HB so I can have one tune for all motor and one for straight nitrous. |
