New 1/4 Mile Record for the Evo X

There has been a lot of threads on this lately on the national forums, team in Puerto Rico put it together, I guess the guy driving it is pretty beast.

Looks like the X can throw down solid numbers with the right driver and setup.

The video has other stuff too, but the white evo at the end is the new record holder in case you couldn't tell ;)

Dubstep makes everything better :) I personally really enjoyed the 1G...old timer still kicking it with the new boy'z and all their fancy new Technology'zz. Fast evo....i wonder whether its on a OEM bottom end...and what drive train? Sounded like a regular transmission. I just watched a video the other day of the new EVO X horsepower record being like 908AWHP that was sweet!

It is heavy, I don't think its gutted or anything, full interior. Just a good driver.

Such short gears. Looks like everyone is braking x records lately.

He has a longer final drive too I believe.

Otherwise you are stuck shifting to 5th.

My car hits like 130ish before I have to shift to 5th and thats at 9000rpms. I am leaning towards a new final drive in the future, but not sold on it yet.

Andrew re-geared his IX and it's a great mod, especially with his increased displacement.

I like at the end how it shows him just rolling up to the line wearing a hat.

I just have the diff pin upgrade yes, well that and an ACT 6 puck, otherwise stock.

The X trans is really really stout.

I thought the X gears were the same ratios as the IX gears?

I really wish I would have had the 4.11 final drive put in my trans when it was rebuilt by shep 3 years ago. At the time, I never though I would have enough power to make it worthwhile.

Very very similar; for real-world purposes you can consider them the same since tire choice will have a larger impact than the mechanical differences. Owning/driving both you'd be hard pressed to ever notice the difference.

Re: New 1/4 Mile Record for the Evo X

Goddamn thats quick, esp for 'only' ~700whp? (if I read the dyno graph right)

I swear their track down there is ~1250' long and downhill, that is really impressive!

Murlo26 03-11-2013 02:55 PM

Re: New 1/4 Mile Record for the Evo X

It's funny because everyone on evoxforums was joking about the track being downhill or short or other things lol.

Seems to be a lot of "records" at PR that people question. But I guess people called out a bunch of PR guys and challenged them at a track in florida then the PR guys came and put a whooping on them.

Everyone always challenges times and charts that they can't achieve since everyone is convinced they are the best.

Yip, I'm not the first and the PR guys come out strong every few years throwing down in us mainland guys. Pretty badass.

Murlo have you had a chance to go down the track with your setup?

Yes, with pretty terrible results, but I suck at driving.

Nope. 12 flat at like 125ish. I only had one clean pass, 1 where I forgot to take traction control off and then clutch lockout for two and called it a day.

Ouch. Are you going to try another pass before you switch setups?

Thanks for the confidence booster

I don't pretend to be good at driving like a lot of internet peoples, its on my goals list to learn to drive better.

But anyway, this thread is about someone who can drive really well! Some crazy ass PR dude. So ya

Re: New 1/4 Mile Record for the Evo X

lol, do we need to add a butthurt tag?

Why change the car if you are learning to drive? It will make it more difficult.

I'm just ribbing ya man, I'd love to drive your car and see how piloting something that big would be.

Nah, not butthurt at all, I know I suck and shouldn't change anything, doesn't mean I don't like to tinker, thats half the joy for me, tinkering setups and trying to get the perfect setup. Realistically, I should put a stock turbo on there and learn to drive but then I can't be a frumroll monster ;)

I think the car is or will be ready for others to drive, I didn't trust it yet with all my problems the past few years but now that it made it a whole year with nothing catastrophic I'd let people drive it that are careful.

Re: New 1/4 Mile Record for the Evo X

No way! Frum roll monster ftw!

As long as parts aren't dropping off it, its ready.

I was wondering though, you aren't that terrible far off from that PR car, so 130ish traps are in your future this year?

Lets just say I will run outta 4th gear for sure this year. Lots of other stuff is going to need upgrading now too.

That's why you got 5 gears.
