Hey everyone,

Thats right. Its time to start thinking about the 6th Annual, All Mitsubishi Cookout and Car Show. It will be on Sunday, August 22nd at the Ellingson Car Museum in Rogers. New this year is the sign-up form. You simply fill out the info on the sign-up page and you are registered and put on the mailing list.

All the info about the Cookout is at: http://www.mn3s.org/all_mitsubishi2004.html

The direct link to the registration page is: http://mn3s.zforcenetwork.com/list/?p=subscribe

Map of location:
http://maps.yahoo.com/maps_result?ed=gv5HM...ew=1&name=&qty=

The price should be around $5 again this year, but I'm not positive yet. We had about 100 cars there last year. We'll easily beat that number this year.

Curt

JasonR 06-01-2004 10:04 AM

I will be there. Had a great time last year. My little red eclipse has had allot of improvements. Try to defend my 2g title. So many great cars out there. I cant wait to see all them. :dsmrule:

As long as you get your Mitsu to the show, thats all that matters. ;)

I couldn't believe that car on the trailer was the only GVR4 there last year. I have two friends with them, so there should be more this time around.

No, took 1st for 2g, Corbeau racing seats and Ultra shield 5 point racing harness. There is a picture of it in the dsm style picture gallery from last years cookout, third most viewed.

Hey guys,

We've already got 21 cars signed up for the Cookout. Here is the list as of Saturday: http://www.mn3s.org/attendees2004.html (18 cars)

The two most interesting cars so far is an Avenger converted to the DSM turbo motor and AWD. Thats just insane!! Plus there is a non-turbo Lancer with a turbo kit. Pretty sweet!!

I've also made a flyer for people to hand out if they come across some nice Mitsus out there. Here is the flyer:

Hopefully I'll make it... Will you allow me to trailer in my car with the interior full of parts and no drivetrain?

Sure, why not? You can turn it into a gigantic flower pot if you want. :bounce: Just get it to the Cookout.

PIK performance in St. Cloud is working on a 4G63 Civic. They have the motor up and running in the car already, they are just waiting for the Axles and lower cross member to be completed and she's good to go.

Can he sign up?

Also I just registured as well. doubt I'll have the body kit or the rust looking good by them due to so much effort being focused on the Mayhem. But at least I'll be there.

I'm kind of on the fence on this one. Have the person contact me, and we'll talk.

Damn, that sounds pretty crazy. Rip out the heart of that Honda and stick something Mitsu in it. I like it.

I'm sure he could always hang out in the parking lot at the very least. I know I was checking out some of the non-mitsu cars in the lot last year.

curt_gendron 06-28-2004 08:08 AM

Hey everyone,

I've made some updates to the All Mitsu Cookout page at:
http://www.mn3s.org/all_mitsubishi2004.html

I've added some hotel and campground information for those planning on staying overnight in the Twin Cities. As of today we have 38 people signed up for the Cookout. Thats right on par with what I'm expecting.

Hope to see you there,
Curt

Techniclly you don't have to sign-up. You can just show up the day of the event. But it makes my job easier if you sign-up. I can get a better idea of how much food to buy. Also, when you do the final registration at the show itself, it goes quicker if I have you on my list.

I just checked the sign up list and we have 44 sign ups so far. Thats great so far! We have always ended up with more people at the show then the number that signed up in advance.

Hope you can make it,
Curt

JustROLLIN 07-05-2004 10:52 PM

I know the amount of time, effort, and work you put into this event and we all really appreciate it. With that said, if I can make your work load even a little lighter by pre-registering, I'll do it. Thanks again Curt!

Thanks a bunch! :toast:

are you still asking for a Mods list, etc like last year?

I still have last years pinned up on my wall here at work. IF it's going to be the same format I'll just update that list.

Enes 07-06-2004 03:51 PM

do we get two pages for the mod list?

I hope so. I think JET had 3 last year. Atleast this year I won't be afraid to open my hood.

curt_gendron 07-06-2004 07:32 PM

I've got the blank car sign for you to fill out. Its at:
http://www.mn3s.org/car-sign.doc

If you want to get creative and make a second or third page, thats cool with me. Just try and make it look decent. Remember to leave the car number field blank. You'll get that the day of the show.

Dang, we are only 6.5 weeks away from the Cookout!!

curt_gendron 07-22-2004 09:54 AM

Hey everyone,

I've finalized the categories for the All Mitsu Cookout. Here they are:

Best 90-94 DSM
Best 95-99 DSM
Best 00+ Eclipse/Stratus coupe
Best 91-93 3/S
Best 94-99 3/S
Best Evo *
Best Classic Mitsu (89 and older)
Best Other Mitsu *
The "Gene Helms" Cleanest Car Overall

* The Evo and Other category may be lumped together. So far there are not enough EVOs for there own category.

We will have trophies for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd for all categories except Cleanest Car. That is only a 1st place trophy. All voting is done by the participants. So far we have 64 people signed up and we still have a month to go!!

Curt

curt_gendron 07-29-2004 08:16 AM

Hey everyone,

I always keep forgeting to talk about the prizes for the All Mitsu Cookout. Brookdale Mitsubishi is providing a ton of prizes again this year. They are really stepping up to the plate to make sure The Cookout is a huge success. I know for sure we have a set of 2G DSM floor mats to give away and several sets of binoculars to give away, plus a bunch of things I don't even know about.

Jack, at Mitsubishi Specialties will be at the Cookout too. He sells some nice Vacumn hose reduction kits for the 3/S. He'll be selling those, plus have some vouchers to give away for free kits.

QPR will be donating some prizes too. They have some hose kits from Hose Techniques and might have some other goodies to give away too. Stay tuned.

I've also finalized the price of the Cookout. It will again be $5. You can pay the day of the show, but it would make my life easier if you paid in advance. You can send me a Paypal to cgendron@mail.com Make sure to include your full name. By pre-paying, it makes the registration process the day of the show go a lot quicker.

We are only about three weeks away now!!

Curt

Hey everyone,

The All Mitsubishi Cookout and Car Show is drawing near. Its just over two weeks away now. We've got 78 cars signed up so far, and I'm still expecting well over 100 cars to show up the day of the show. Here are a few reminders:

1. If you are planning on coming and haven't signed up, please do so. It helps with the planning of the event and the registration process goes quicker at the show. Sign up form is here:
http://mn3s.zforcenetwork.com/list/?p=subscribe

2. Once you've signed up, you can paypal me the $5 registration. Send the paypal to cgendron@mail.com By pre-paying it also speeds up the registration the day of the show. $5 gets you and a guest in the show with your Mitsu and all the food you can eat. Its a hell of a bargain.

3. Bring a lawn chair and an FRS radio. We'll be using the FRS radios to announce the prizes and other info. You don't want to miss out on all the giveaways. There are a ton of them.

Thanks,
Curt

curt_gendron 08-11-2004 02:11 PM

Hey everyone,

Only 11 days left until the Cookout. The trophies are made. They will be a little bigger than last year. We also have a ton of prizes to give away. QPR has a bunch of shirts and other apparal from Redline Oils to give away. Brookdale Mitsubishi has a bunch of stuff. Plus, Jack with Mitsubishi Specialties has some prizes. Don't forget that FRS radio, or you'll miss your car number being called out. With over 60 prizes to give away, a lot of people will walk away with stuff.

Also, here is a good map of where the Ellingson Car Museum is:
http://maps.yahoo.com/maps_result?ed=gv5HM...ew=1&name=&qty=

Curt

JET 08-11-2004 03:10 PM

I don't think my car will be there to defend its' title :( Unless QPR can get me those pistons ASAP! Everything is ready to drop in this time, it should go quick!

I will be there though with my red DD. I am not going to get a trophy with that thing though!

SlowWhite 08-11-2004 03:23 PM

I Might be there. It's up to John now to bring my car back to life.

I'm also going to see if Jenny wants to bring her Talon up there just to get more numbers for the show as well to show it off for those that are interested in buying it.

curt_gendron 08-11-2004 06:43 PM

JET -- Bring the daily driver. The more DSMs the better. Its a Laser FWD RS Turbo, right??

Brian -- Hope you can get your car there. But bring Jenny's car too. You can put a for sale sign in it. I don't mind.

later,
Curt

JDM 08-12-2004 03:10 AM

I will need to defend my "2nd best 3G" title. No way in hell I stand a chance against a guy with 20k worth of *$Bling$*

Vote for Donnelly.
