Got the itch for speed? wannaGOFAST and TheChicagoGarage present the Chicago Half-Mile Shootout at Bult Airport, located 40 miles south of downtown Chicago in Monee, Illinois. On June 1st and 2nd, man up, dump the clutch and hold on for a half-mile down Bult Airfield's private 5,001-foot runway. See what it’s like to finally race without the restrictions of speed limits on your own private interstate! Participation as a racer is open to the public and limited to 150 cars each day so be sure to register early -- spots will fill quickly. Don’t have a car? Don’t fret, because spectating is open to the public on both days as well.''

Pricing:
$195 promo pricing (once registration goes live). $225 after two weeks of registration being open.
$15 for spectators.

This event will consist of:
Standing 1/4 Mile
Standing 1/2 Mile
Roll racing

I wonder if they'll try sweeping up the airway better for the actual race day? The pictures always looked like a cloud of dust was behind the cars which doesn't seem very good for high hp cars and traction

Hmm...wish this was available when I had the blue car. Guess I'll have to try to see what a "built" 13t powered 3/s can do in the standing 1/2 mile (build permitting).

Well I don't have national guard, but I'd be game for this event I'd have to rent a trailer if I wanted to take my POS for racing down there.

However, if we get a big enough crew I'll go down a pit monkey for sure.

yep, my consistent track visits every year since 2005 to include a track visit in san antonio, TX mirrors swifty 100%. :confused:

Screw real racing, bench racing is way more fun! Nothing ever breaks, you always have a perfect pass with a perfect launch, and run quicker than the guy on the interwebs!
