Sorry I haven't been around on the site too much lately, especially on the weekends. And I won't be around this weekend either. I rented a cabin on Toledo Bend Lake Friday through Monday.

BUT I needed something to have fun with while my GSX is still down, so I got this. :bounce:

Larson 190LXi Bowrider 4.3L Volvo Penta (Chevy) 190hp
Now if I could only figure out how to get a T-77 and an intercooler on it, hehehehe

And I needed something a little stronger than my v6 Ford Ranger to go with it, so I picked this up also. By the way the Ranger is for sale HERE. Enter ad code wax2216b

Nice toys, but...

Is it true, or just a myth.. that AWD vehicles aren't suppose to be used for towing because of tranny wrecking issues?

It's not a problem. At least not for this one.

It would be a little overkill for what I needed.

Raptor 05-28-2004 05:28 PM

Very nice toys Mike! Definately makes the trip down there sound even more fun ;)

1ViciousGSX 05-28-2004 05:50 PM

What I've got is really nothing all that special considering what else is out there. Two weeks ago I got to ride in a 36ft Daytona Eliminator catamaran with two (2) fuel injected 500 cid Chevy engines in it. The thing sounded like two dragsters idling side-by-side. It cruised at 95mph on open water. So far it was the baddest boat I've ever been in. :bounce:

Jakey 05-28-2004 06:07 PM

Good Lord, with all of your toys I sure would hate to see what your fish tank looks like! ;)

tpunx99GSX 05-28-2004 08:30 PM

Definatly nice toys viscious, About a week ago a brand spanking new boat got a stereo put in that had a Corvette engine in it. it was definatly badass, but the only thing we couldnt figure out is where the air was supposed to get in, there was a large bench that sealed the motor and the filters went right up to the edge of it with no vents, kinda hard to explain.

Very Nice! Do you guys have alot of lakes down there are you going to cruise the Gulf :) Sweet!

RedStal95 05-30-2004 10:34 PM

Nice toys man! I'm jealous.

My rents just bought a vacation place on the gulf of mexico. Now I just have to convince them to let me take their v10 excursion and 27 ft sea ray (chevy 454) down there with some friends. I dont think my chances are very good..

Where do you boat around here?

Jana 05-30-2004 11:18 PM

He's actually down in Louisana, so it wouldn't be around here. :)

BuildADSM 05-31-2004 10:44 PM

very nice! That boat looks new! is it? Well my family has a 20 ft sea ray and I live on the water so I love that kinda of stuff.
I work at a yacht club and we have really fucking fast boats. I saw a 38 cat this weekend with twin v8's both with hugh Superchargers on them and both motors were polished or cromed from top to bottom.... very bad ass. He had it up to 104 but I think it will go 110 ... for now.
the guys with those boats have very deep pockets because they usually blow at least one of the motors a season and also an outdrive too. One spent 50 grand fixing it last year.... but damn do they sound, look, and are mean! just expensive.

Sorry for the long post...

BTW from growing up around boats I will give you one thing of advice. Buy a cover and keep it on it. It is the best thing that you can do for it physically and MECHANICALY.

It's a 2001 model that had 41 hrs use on it when I got it. Hardly been used. I bought it from a buddy that I work with.

I have the canvas cover for it, but I don't drive with it on the boat. I tried it once and the wind caused the cover to rub the rear upper deck and tops of the rear seats, made them turn black. It took me about an hour to rub that stuff off the vinyl. The cover is on it when not in use.
