Re: 93 tsi awd

Do you run timing covers? Does it leak any oil?

Just wondering cause apparently all dsms do so I just want to see.

If it doesn't than you sir have a diamond in the rough.

Nice car, and a good price.

BTW welcome to style.

1g&srt 07-12-2012 06:18 AM

Re: 93 tsi awd

Yes it has timing covers, it does have a very minimal oil leak right at the front of the oil pan. Can't tell if its the actual oil pan gasket or from the oil line. It leaks maybe a couple drops a night.

1G_DSM 07-12-2012 07:04 AM

Re: 93 tsi awd

Check your oil return tube. It might be leaking between the tube and the pan because of a bad gasket.

Wth, is this car back on Craigslist? What did it originally sell for?

Re: 93 tsi awd

Hahahaha, $5500!

1G_DSM 07-29-2012 02:57 PM

Re: 93 tsi awd

So it sold for $5,500 and was owned for a week before being listed again for $5,500?

Don't worry about it, its a manual car and you can't drive it.

I just got a better paying job. I'm tempted to buy it to take the miles off my current 1G and I want a clean 1G to mod but I don't really like red cars and I'm sort of worried about it being sold again after a week of new ownership. I'm sort of on the fence. I think I should sleep on it for a while. Who knows when a good Evo IX will show up for sale too.

Should have bought it a few weeks earlier! Save a few grand!

Did it originally sell for $5,500 or was it lower than that?

Re: 93 tsi awd

If you can get a 9 and save yourself the headache.

1G_DSM 07-29-2012 06:39 PM

Re: 93 tsi awd

I'm sure I can afford an EVO IX. I will be making $48,000/year now without overtime. I'm not rich by any means but I'm only 26. I'm only interested in certain colors, mostly EB, but I think IXs are overpriced. That's just my opinion.

What I really want to know is what this car originally sold for. I don't think the original poster is on here much.

Constant_Project21 07-29-2012 06:51 PM

Re: 93 tsi awd

I think this car was listed at $3500. I imagine that's what it sold for. But who cares? Maybe it is really nice and the guy felt it was priced too low.

1G_DSM 07-29-2012 07:12 PM

Re: 93 tsi awd

It was listed for $3,500 originally? I'm not interested anymore. I guess I'll wait for that EVO IX. Thanks for the info.

CornFed2.4 07-29-2012 07:38 PM

Re: 93 tsi awd

Car was listed cheap at $3500. Car was easily worth $4500 in my opinion. Shouldnt stop you from at least making an offer cause someone bought it cheaper 1 week ago. What do you think all those dealers do to 8/9 evos.

1G_DSM 07-29-2012 07:49 PM

Re: 93 tsi awd

I'm just gonna pass. I had a feeling it originally sold for considerably less than $5,500 but I just wasn't 100% sure. I'll wait around for another good deal. Thanks again for the info.

1g&srt 07-31-2012 09:37 AM

Re: 93 tsi awd

I sold it for 3200. Trans grinded slightly in first, slight idle surge, and had a small boost leak. I wasn't trying to get a fortune out of it and rip someone off. I'm an honest person and sold it for what I had into it. If someone bought it for 5500 I feel sorry for you
