Re: A few pics from the wayback machine, enjoy!
And here I thought we were going to see a younger guy with long hair and a Dream Theater shirt leaning up against his 1g. :D

Who do I have to stab to get both of those cars, in that condition? I can only imagine what it must have been like to see one for the first time, brand new. I was born the same year they came out haha.

Re: A few pics from the wayback machine, enjoy!
Then they would be in pieces.
INB4Goodhart. hahaha |
Re: A few pics from the wayback machine, enjoy!

Re: A few pics from the wayback machine, enjoy!
And those pics are the second round of the local dsm crew. I think I spot Norm standing with Steve in the last pic. I'm guessing Shane may be the only other person who knew that OG DSM crew.
I remember sitting in a 1991 GSX at the dealer(on the showfloor) in late 1990ish when I was trying to convince my older brother that it should be his choice of car for College. Then I bought mine a couple years later. Oh, and Steve, I always wanted those wheels(the "TSW Hockenheim R".. still remember the name). |
Re: A few pics from the wayback machine, enjoy!
Yep, that's Norm. I was around way back then too. I joined Club DSM in '94 and my '91 looked identical to that first brochure. Sure is crazy to think how much things have changed. I remember rocking my 16g turbo and 5 knob S-AFC in that thing on 17psi thinking I was the shit :D

Got Damn we were skinny back then.

Re: A few pics from the wayback machine, enjoy!
SO its normal to not eat so you can buy car parts?
whew. (wipes forehead) The only person that looks the same is steve! lol. |
Re: A few pics from the wayback machine, enjoy!
Sadly enough, DSM's weren't yet created when I was young, although my best buddy bought a brand new base Eclipse in February of 1989 when we were in the Navy. We were the shit driving around in that thing, people actually thought it was a new Porsche. Haha.
Geez, my car was clean back then, gotta get that pig cleaned up again! And yeah, I almost miss those Hockenheims now, they look pretty good compared to my Evo wheels. :D |
Re: A few pics from the wayback machine, enjoy!
Awesome brochure pics as well as old skool MN dsmers!
This is why modding hughes' super stock 1g a few years back was so fun...breaking out the 5-knob afc and slapping in Evo injectors again, $100 3" exhaust, that thing was way too fun!!! Still love these cars. |

It may be EvoStyle now, but it's still DSMStyle at heart. :D |
Re: A few pics from the wayback machine, enjoy!
Hahahaha at the pics, oh boy how times have changed..
I remember riding in my old 1g in maybe 1994, my older brother bought it nearly new in 93 I think. I was maybe 8-9 years old, going to the history museum. haha |
Re: A few pics from the wayback machine, enjoy!
Here is something to add to the way back machine. Rock Falls racing in 1999: http://mn3s.org/rock-falls-august99.html

Look in the link that Kurt linked to rockfalls. He was just simply quoting what is captioned under the picture.

Re: A few pics from the wayback machine, enjoy!
good god, what the fuck was I thinking..... lol
That's all tail end of the yahoo group and into the DSMStyle era. The others before my time I remember that were active was Chris J, Scott J, and Derek H, and I know I'm forgetting some others. |

LOL. Yeah, in 1999 that was REALLY fast. ;) |
Re: A few pics from the wayback machine, enjoy!
I think I still have the timeslip when Brent drove my car and ran 12.02 in 1998. It took me a year or two to duplicate that time. :D

Re: A few pics from the wayback machine, enjoy!
Ahh, the good old days. I know I came in a little late on the "OG" crew. But man, what a ride! I still have a few of the old Minnesota Club DSM business cards on display in the basement next to a bunch of other memorabilia from that time.
I still remember my first time going to Midway (the old Mervyn's parking lot I believe) and, only by chance, I ended up following old man Hill down there. I thought "what a cocky license plate" until I saw what it could do. I then thought "it fits." I think that was sometime in 2001. Now I'm starting to miss my Talon and want it back. I wonder if it's still running around? |
Re: A few pics from the wayback machine, enjoy!
Here is a great picture from April 18th, 1999. The first MN 3/S trip to Rock Falls:
http://mn3s.org/april99/rockfalls-daffy.jpg What is awesome, after 13 years, Oskar, Basol and I are still going strong with our 3/Ses. later, Curt |
Re: A few pics from the wayback machine, enjoy!
3/S trip to rock falls? why?
You guys polish up your cars there too and talk about what the cars should run? |

They are the smart ones. Do a few mods, run the car, see what it does and keep it that way. 13 years later the cars are still running.
