Hey guys, just spreading the word that Ricekiller meets start tomorrow (4/30). They're each Monday night starting at 6:30, in the lot across the street from Wagner's. $1 to get in.

Hellz yea! It takes time to plan and hype people up for a meet. Plus they have to pay the volunteers!

I'm kind of thinking about going and paying my $1 in all pennies

Since when do you pay volunteers? Lol. I liked it better when it was a $1 donation. In my opinion you should set these things up because you love doing it not because you're gonna make a buck off it. Just my two cents. I did really enjoy the meets last year tho

I actually think requiring money could be good for this meet, lol. Get rid of people that aren't actual car enthusiasts.

If my car was running ever and it was a nice Monday, I will prolly make a trip here, better than sitting inside on a nice day! Find some people to destroy too.

If you're taking money, you're not a volunteer. RKC has become such a joke over the past two summers. Last I went, all they were all a bunch of collar popping flatbill Monster hat wearing douchbags. Then I heard they weren't allowing some cars in because they were project cars and didn't have a shiny paintjob. For a "club" interested in all makes and models, they sure know how to make you feel inadequate. I'm all for a free meet across the street. Bet $5 they send someone over and invite us to their meet.

Well I will put my $.02 in and not care what others say about this after.

Yes it does take a dollar to get your car into the meet... Do I agree with it 100%, No but it does go for a good cause. It does take time and money to run something that large. Just an example when was the last time you went to a hardware store and bought 300 feet of extension cord. it isn't cheap, or a generator to power the little light that is there.

As for racing. No there isn't any racing that goes on around the meet for one reason, and one reason only if it gets busted it will go back to the meet and shut it down. Then there would be no meet at all.

Seems like a good reason to charge a buck. maybe weed out some of the garbage. Oh and thanks for classifying me as a "collar popping flatbill Monster hat wearing douch bags" :nod: lol

But yeah I have been with the RKC crew for 5 years now back when the meets where out in maple grove, and it isn't the same. Some for the good, and some for the not so good.

I went to wagners last night! god I missed there food, then drove by the meet and waved on my way out, I wont be attending them because all I hear is how much they suck, and I can go to the wed sonic meet for free and see pretty much the same cars. I would be up for a Monday meet at wagners but keep in mind its also classic car night so its filled with old people.

Joel, sorry but 90% of that crowd isn't worth anything but racing and even then its only about 20% of those have cars that are worth racing.

You guys just need to get bikes. They didn't ask me and Paul for any monies and I had $1 in pennies and coupons for a buffet :(

There was a pretty sweet viper there and a couple other nice cars but a lot of rice was at a ricekiller meet.

Ugg I don't know if I am just getting old or what, but car meets no longer excite me. It's all the same old, "what are your mods" chit-chat that we've all been though a few hundred times. I want to race. I want to hang out with people that are on the track and have drive and commitment. People who use telemetry data, tuning, and team experiences with collective knowledge to share their passion though achievement.

I go to these meets, any meet, and it just is not enough any more. I know any worthwhile endeavor begins with passion. But if you already have the passion, throw your hat in the ring and work towards greater goals than throwing a bunch of parts at a car that is little more than a conversational piece at a social club.

Same here, thats why we usually get a few people together and just go grab a beer and food and talk about other stuff too. 100% car talk is 200% boring.

Completely agree. That's why I enjoy our meets which are usually just friends hanging out over some food and beverages, not pure just standing around staring at cars. That gets real boring real fast.

Call me and elitest, but frankly I like the idea of paying $1. It keeps gawkers out. And putting the project cars in the back of the lot makes sense if you ask me. There's nothing wrong with having a project car, but when i looks like a fucking jellopy with the hood missing and its 3 different colors... it doesn't belong with a $45k Audi, or even a really nice older DSM that's had a lot of work put in to it.

If that is the determining factor between going and not going then don't go :)

I've only been to these like twice but I don't stay longer than like 20-30 mins, not much to do there. Just an excuse to go cruising in my mind.

There were a couple nice cars that was about it. 2 supercharged vipers and a nice gti vr6 turbo. Thats all I saw that caught my eye. Oh and a couple girls with tits hanging out that was about it. It was kind of funny they had signs that sai no loud music no reving and no burnouts. Well that sure didnt stop anybody. I went down to spring street to watch some races. I would go again if its nice out to ride the bike.

On the way home We ran a few cars on the bikes it was fun to cruise and gave me something to do, simple as that
