Troy's Evo

Here's the graph:

http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7205/6...59b980ce_b.jpg

RS built 2.0 (.040+, O-Ringed, 9:1 compression)
AMS 900x Turbo kit (6266 turbo)
Kelford 272 cams
GSC Beehives and Retainers
Stock ports
Stock intake manifold
Stock throttle body
FIC 1450 injectors
DIY Double Pumper
DIY Coil on Plug
Hallman MBC
Synapse BOV
ETS 4" FMIC
Quartermaster 8 Leg (race version)

615whp and 495wtq @35psi (3rd gear pull)

I can't thank Ron@RS Motors enough for all the time he's put in to my car. He's tuned it every step of the way since it was back on the stock turbo on pump gas, he's been there through its Evolution (Pun intended :P) The car feels so good right now its incredible

Thanks to everyone else who i've texted/pm'd asking opinions, Scheides for helping with getting my car running on SD, Goodhart for the hook up on some parts I needed, Shane@DB for the help with the Double Pumper, and MAP for hooking me up with parts.

We have 3 amazing shops here in MN and I tried to utilize each one!

I've reached the goal with the car now and don't know whats next, besides enjoy it of course (vids or it never happened? Ok :P)

What would this make on MAP dyno?

Looks similar to mark's build.

Last year at RS I made 431whp at MAP I made 489whp. So, Rons dyno reads close to 12% lower than MAP's. Figuring that in this should be right around 698whp in 3rd gear.

4th gear "should" be over 700whp

Thanks Mark, this 6266 turbo is a beast isn't it?!

Re: Troy's Evo

Badass!!! Glad you got it running, tuned...SD working ok for you? Any hiccups yet? Gentle reminder to keep an eye on that wideband/logs here and there as the e85 mix changes.

I love the torque of the setup man. Any idea why there's a little boost spike like that? Maybe a spring issue on the WGA? That's the only thing I'd think could be a bit better....amazing numbers on a relatively simple setup!

Spring dyno day @ DB, see you there--I want a ride! :D

Re: Troy's Evo

Also, how's peak IDC%? The 1450's going to last you the summer or are you going to have to turn down the boost a little?

Not sure on the boost spike. I'll check the IDC's today, even though in Evoscan they tend to be off. I think I can make it the whole summer on the 1450's, we still had plenty of fuel so once e85 actually comes in and it needs more, there was still head room. Any more power than this and I would say i'd have to upgrade. Which is the last thing I want to do.

I'm finally happy where my car is power wise and hopefully i'm finished in that aspect before I end up turning it into an unstreetable car

I ended up using one Ron had because it was vented

Re: Troy's Evo

Now that I got the power where I want it to be, I can work on fixing the things i've disliked about the exterior. I've always HATED my rear bumper, its had paint cracks and little dings from somebody bumping into the back of me. So I finally ditched it and picked up a JDM Rear from Ron@RS Motors.

This has to be one of the favorite things i've done to the car thus far!

The GReddy Ti fits pretty darn good, it sticks out maybe an inch further than I would like, but its really not that bad. I took a picture of the worst angle I could

Re: Troy's Evo

Well, now that the dyno day is over, I can reveal some info :P

When I sent my turbo back, I talked to PTE about the upgrade to the 6466. We worked out a darn good deal so I went for it. I figured me and Ron could get actual, back to back testing on the same set up between these two amazing turbos. Keep in mind my set up is still very mild with my Kelford 272's, 9.0:1 Compression 2.0l, Stock Intake Manifold, Stock Throttle Body, and no port work on the head.

Here's one of the graphs from Ron:
http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7102/7...cfcc22bc_b.jpg

The solid line, to our surprise is the 6466! It actually outspooled the 6266. Ron thought they actually sent the wrong turbo back since it spooled almost the same, but really didn't make more power per psi of boost like we both thought a bigger turbo should. Now this could be due to my particular set up, I'm not sure if the Recirculated o2 housing is causing back pressure issues or what. Frankly at this point I don't really care to keep spending money to find what it is. I'm so so happy with the power it has made thus far, and like Ron said when I had my 6266, you dont know you have a good set up until you change the setup somehow.

If I had to recommend a turbo to anybody, it would still be the 6266 if you were to copy my setup. I'm sure with removing some restrictions I can get the turbo to do what it should. But to me the 6266 performed just as good as the 6466 for my setup. If I would've had the 2150's I could've pushed the 6266 harder to have a better comparison.

On to the Dyno Day graphs:
Uncorrected at DB:
http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8010/7...3c320225_b.jpg

And shootout:
http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5338/7...b2db4425_b.jpg

Once again, I can't thank Ron enough for the work he has put in on my car. He was busy as heck these past 2 weeks and somehow still made it happen. Once we get the minimum IPW issue fixed with the 2150's on the stock ecu this car will be perfect for me!

Nice setup and awesome turbo! 6466 is no joke and nice to se you are making good power on a lot of stock parts too!

Thanks Jim! I'm surprised my set up has done so well. PTE made some killer turbo's in the 6266 and the 6466.

Do you have a dyno graph that shows the 6466 vs 6266 at 35psi so we can actually see what the difference is?

This is the only one I have of it, they were both roughly 32 psi, the 6266 had a spike due to my MBC line being to long.

Power was 613whp on the dotted one (6266) and 597whp on the solid (6466)

Made it to BIR today, god I need to learn how to drive this thing. It did not want to shift at 9k though haha. You can also hear the LICP blow off as I crossed the line. With some more seat time, this should EASILY be a 140+mph car!

That was the plan for the year! 140's would've came on that run if I didn't miss that 2nd gear, and could've shifted the others a little quicker, but i'm happy with the day, I started getting the hang of it, then my LICP got destroyed when it blew off so I quit haha

haha yeah, street tires have a hard time holding this power in 1st, 2nd spun a little because I got out of the groove. It was so much fun actually getting a "decent" pass in. I want more!

You need to get a brace on that LICP boy!

Nice work man, that's an epic mph!

Nice, looks like traction there still sucks bad.

That truck looks fast as hell he had you till about the 1/8!!!

I bet on a non street tire night that might of been faster with no other changes.

Re: Troy's Evo

11.4@135 huh? Brings back old times (heavier car, same result/issues on a street tire car). Best of luck next time out!
