Re: The car simply known as "The Talon"
Insane build.
Have you run it yet? |
Re: The car simply known as "The Talon"
Thanks. No I am waiting on a few odds and ends to finish it up.

Re: The car simply known as "The Talon"
I love how stealth it looks with that much tech under the bonnet.
|
Re: The car simply known as "The Talon"
Thanks, I really wanted a sleeper look. I am thinking of having the intercooler done in a heat extracting coating which is black.
|
Re: The car simply known as "The Talon"
mmmm... RACECAR!
Are you waiting for some nitrious to help spool? Assuming thats what the bungs on the runners are for. Edit: Car only has 52k WOW! thats low milage too! With all the pics I over looked the first part |
Re: The car simply known as "The Talon"
I actually had a direct port kit for the car but I decided not to go that route.
|
Re: The car simply known as "The Talon"
Looks awesome!
Two questions, why that intake manifold and what kind of ignition system are you running? Ok one more, what kind of power are you hoping to hit? I see this being a very cool thread! |
Re: The car simply known as "The Talon"
First the intake, it was very popular when I started the build. I will most likely switch to something else but for now it has to do. I have an msd ignition with buschur coil on plug. Don't really have power goals in mind but 800 on dave's dyno would be nice.

Re: The car simply known as "The Talon"
Damn nice.. and clean
|
Re: The car simply known as "The Talon"
Thanks, its actually filthy in most of those pics.
|
Re: The car simply known as "The Talon"
Welcome to style. The car still looks great
|
Re: The car simply known as "The Talon"
Oh my....
|
Re: The car simply known as "The Talon"
oof dah. How long has the build taken so far?
|
Re: The car simply known as "The Talon"
About 5 years but I was out of the country for 2 years and im back in school and working so I only work on it here and there.
|
Re: The car simply known as "The Talon"
Looks like my original DSM, at least on the outside. Very nice build, anxious to see more progress pics and numbers.
|
Re: The car simply known as "The Talon"
My first car was a 90 black and silver. That was actually the first car I ever bought myself so this car is like my first car reborn
|
Re: The car simply known as "The Talon"
My favorite color on a 1ga for sure, love the two-tone Talons, nice build! Keep us updated...
|
Re: The car simply known as "The Talon"
Will do, I should have the fuel fittings this week, but the car is in storage and it is damn cold here. Not to mention my birthday is this weekend so I doubt much will get done lol
|
Re: The car simply known as "The Talon"
You should thermal disperse coat the FMIC like you mentioned... Would be a damn good sleeper. :D
and happy birthday! |
Re: The car simply known as "The Talon"
Hey thanks for the birthday wishes. I contacted swain tech today but I am not sure if a 2-5% reduction in IAT is worth almost $300 lol

Nice build btw, and welcome to the forum. |
Re: The car simply known as "The Talon"
Actually no, heat dispersion coatings are designed to "pull" heat from what they are applied to where as ceramic coatings are insulators, holding heat in.

Hard to be a sleeper with a 1G. The only 1Gs still out there are modded to hell, nobody is going to expect a clean 1G on the road to not have power. |
Re: The car simply known as "The Talon"
But will they expect a 42r powered 1g...I doubt it. I thought about getting a license plate that says
Evo316G or 20GPWR |
Re: The car simply known as "The Talon"
Scary
|
Re: The car simply known as "The Talon"
Shane is totally right on the clean 1G thing not being a sleeper thing. But yeah welcome to the forums and it be cool to see what it puts down. Reminds me alot of Leasures 1g w/ the dual tial BOVs/42R ect...
OP did you see his build thread on his 1G? I know you said something about his EVO. |
Re: The car simply known as "The Talon"
No I didn't see it. When I get off work I'll have to check it out.

Re: The car simply known as "The Talon"
Haha awesome! I was just reading your thread on evom this weekend, welcome! Get this thing running :D
|
Re: The car simply known as "The Talon"
Oh, I'm working on it. My supplier was out of a few of the fittings I needed. I also work about 25 hours a week and I am a full time nursing student so I don't have a lot of free time, but I am slowly working away.
|
Re: The car simply known as "The Talon"
Ha, I just painted my front mount a satin black for the sleeper look this year. The Archer Bros sidemount just wasn't cutting it with 255's in front. :D
