What is the fastest anyone has gone? (hopefully not illegally) I know I cannot say what shop offers this tranny so I will not, but if are tranny's have an improved gear ratio what is stopping us from going faster? I am waiting for Magnus Dogbox so I will strengthen and more importantly improve gear ratio. Hitting 60mph in 1st, 200mph in 5th is what is claimed. Basically eliminate a gear for 1/4. Until I get tranny installed I will not know the improvement, but anyone want to go faster? :3gears:

I've done into the 160's personaly. last summer racing a croch rocket..and yes I won.

168mph then 160mph Have the video to prove it.

160ish running out of gear but still pulling.

I did about 150mph in my old Laser. In the car I have right now it's probably a couple mph faster then my fastest trap, so probably about 130.

Speedo said 147 in my 2G, maybe would have went a litte faster but not much, and I went 130+ in JETs winter beater with Nash in it on Winter King Snow tires whooping up on a WRX.

Nash was in the car next to me when we video taped the 160mph run. as well as the 168mph run.

Speedo was passed the 160mph - and judging my RPM's we are guessing it was 168.

IF the Dyno show's 155mph in 4th gear for my car. Well I'm Sure since I was over 6200rpms I'm sure I was over 160mph.

I think around 135 or so, not really too sure.

Only a measly 137 mph in my 84 Trans Am in 1991. Of course I did this with four guys in the car almost the entire length of Park Point in Duluth at 1am with a few cocktails under my belt. Not very smart of me.

Also did 118 mph in my CRX on the way to Brainerd. Held this speed for almost 20 minutes straight. That car was a real dog.

I'm looking forward to trying a run on 610 this year. Theoretical top speed is 192 mph in 5th gear at 8500 rpms with enough room to do so. And yes, I have the power to push through the aerodynamic restriction to do it. Having the balls might be another question though.

Steve the day you decide to try for the 192mph run. Let us know. I'm sure about 20-30 of us would be there ready to help (ie: Film, 2 way radio's, Cell phones, stretched a long the highway for about 5-6 miles if need be.

105 in the BEAST going down hill... She didn't want to go anyfaster. At the time i beat a neon though.....

140 in the talon, 130 in the 98 V70R, and a whopping 98 in our 88 Volvo 740 (true top speed, it was aerodynamically limited)

A lightly modded 3/S twin turbo will max out at about 165mph. Can't exactly tell what Josh's avatar shows, but I know its in kph and not mph. Looks good though. ;)

And yes, I have personal experience at the 165mph thing. And its ballzy. :rally:

im suprised the 740 acually made it to that, those things are bricks, and have very very little power...unless it was a turbo, then i belive it, but still....woud be scary.

98's shouldnt be limited...havent ever had a chance to try one out thou...

gauge indicated '172mph' approx 5800-5900rpm in 5th, and she felt like she had more :). Maybe I just stayed in it long enough.

I just love how solid the tt's are above 140 :).

I had to back off on the talon and the V70R because I was running out of decent road, but I held the 740 at 98mph for about three miles at full throttle and I didn't get a hair above that. For the record, the 740 had about 230,000 miles on it at the time, and it only had 114hp when new.
