Round 3

Picked up my 3rd evo last month. It's a 2005 WW MR, I picked it up from my buddy paul (kurdy). The car has 169k and makes right around 400awhp at RS Motors.

Heres a quick run down on the mods
GSC1 cams
Map Beehive springs
Map SST turbo (Old fp green)
Map custom intercooler
Map custom 3inch exhaust(best sounding exhaust I've ever heard)
FIC1050cc injectors
Walbro 255 fuel pump
ACT 6 puck
Fidanza flywheel
Injen IC piping/intake
Perrin air filter
Turbo smart bov( Ithink)
AEM analog boost gauge
AEM analog Wideband
Evo IX tail lights
JDM HID headlights
Hawk HP pads
VIS Carbon fiber trunk
Work springs
I think thats it but I'm probably forgetting some stuff

Heres the car when I first picked it up

Here is a quick pic of the car tonight with the carbon trunk I picked up.

My plans over the winter are to enjoy the hell out of it and probably gather some parts for spring time

-5spd trans swap
-turbo swap of some type
-Oil pressure gauge
And probably alot more if I continue to work a bunch of OT

Re: Round 3

Did a couple things over the weekend, relocated my radio to the lower spot and ordered a gruppe s bezel. For the time being I have my gauges in a homemade gauge holder kinda like the gruppe s one. I also picked up a new sony head unit with amber back lighting to better match my gauge lighting
Here are some current pictures of the car after work today

Little update,
Bought the Gruppe S gauge pod and relocated the radio to the lower din. I just recieved the Gruppe S today and did the gauge relocate over the weekend with a homemade bezel I had from years ago for the time being
http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/j...2/IMAG0058.jpg
Here's the Gruppe S after I swapped the clips and hvac decals over
http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/j...2/IMAG0061.jpg
I will get around to installing it tomorrow after work, I will be ordering my 3rd gauge sometime soon, I'm going with an AEM analog oil pressure
Here is where the gauges were, I hated not being able to see the knock CEL

Little update,My rear diff seals were leaking so I figured since I needed them replaced I should have ron do the rear diff mod. The end result was awesome, I took the car out in a nice dry open lot and I have to say this thing is awesome now. I also picked up goodharts rear diff cover with sight glass.
Here are a couple pictures I took

Re: Round 3

Nothing new with the car except getting incredibly shitty gas mileage, 12.7mpg last fill up and I drive mostly highway to work everyday. I'm gonna go back to 92 octane. I'm starting to really not enjoy driving this car, the car runs great and has more than enough power as is. I just don't see me wanting to spend the money on the 5spd swap to enjoy it on the track this summer.

turbotalon1g 01-22-2012 12:05 PM

Re: Round 3

Sounds like time to sell it.

I couldn't imagine getting that shit MPGs in anything, even full size pickups get better than that.

I thought you would of sold this by now. But looks like it will be for sale soon.

It looks great going down the highway, but from what you told me even if it got 20mpg, I still think you would be happier in something else maybe more practical for your interests.

Yup, pretty much aaron. I'm thinking about taking a break from car stuff for a couple years at least.

Agreed, if you can do bikes they are totally the best option.

Good luck man.

Nope when I sell this car, the only thing I will be buying is a comfortable vehicle and a house

I hope you decide to keep this till spring!

Re: Round 3

I'd disagree on a bike, they can be and are fun but they are no replacement for an evo/dsm. Any chump can get on a bike and go relatively fast, including this guy <---:rollinglaugh:

Haha you'll be back if you sell this evo though! Either way good luck!

haha I'm gonna be dumb then spaz. I'm just not into this as much as I was, I dont feel like spending a bunch of money on cars at this point in my life. I know I've said it before. Don't really feel like living at my parents house with no garage space half the time and not being able to have the other fun stuff I would like with a house. Sure I could afford a house and the evo, but then I would be living pretty tight on money. Not to mention I cant fit an ice house in my car with an auger or tow a boat with my car.

Responsibility sucks doesn't it? Dan just sold his GSX last week and picked up a 1999 Accord for the daily grind to work because he and Kassy are engaged now.

Re: Round 3

Clean car for sure!

It is too bad you aren't enjoying it anymore! :(

Has there been any performance work done to the car since it left Chris' hands?

I thought he sold this car for under 13k? IMHO it seems like 15.5k is a lot for the same car, but just older and with more miles on it.

Good luck on sale if you do decide to sell it! I would possibly consider it if you lowered the price, I am going to be shopping around for a clean 1ga or EVO over the next few months.

Yes Paul did buy this for under 13k, but right after he bought it had to replace clutch, tires, bent wheel, brakes, and a bunch of other little things. Since I have owned the car, I have had it tuned, replaced the rear axle seals, rear diff mod and also the pinion seal along with new wheels and snow tires. NADA clean retail is 18600 for this car stock. So with that being said me stating a ballpark price of 15.5k is what I think very reasonable since I was not in any way saying it was firm. I will post a for sale thread when I decide to take the time and do so.

Re: Round 3

Hope you stick to your word. Selling it and saving for a house is a good idea. I need to grow up and do the same thing.
