Re: I have a confession to make...
Weak! Post pics here, no links to facetube :P
Oh, and some actual info please! I see lots of shiny parts. |
Re: I have a confession to make...
Give us more info, its a shame you came out the year I left.
Not that my car could keep up, but we have something in common. Also update this thread with more details. Looks like 35R power this year? Your friend with a VR4 on the link forums usually posts up vids of the action. |
Re: I have a confession to make...
Sick lookin build but idk about that external wg out the hood. I'll just have to wait n see though.

You mean billet wheel? I don't know what material HTA is. :2strangle::split:
I'm not enough on man sized turbos to know that stuff. I'm interested to see that wastegate setup too. |

Re: I have a confession to make...
Also as far as the wastegate coming out the hood Im not too concerned. I've seen other evo's with similar setups and talked with a few honda owners with similar setups and non of them seem to have issue. The car will be on E85 so that in itself cuts down on the amount of soot coming out of the exhaust.
I cant wait to see the flames shooting out the hood at night time :-D |

Re: I have a confession to make...
It'll go nicely with the orange wheels too. :D
|
Re: I have a confession to make...
To each their own :-) I also had a wasgate dump on my previous FP Red setup and it sounded pretty good, ask scheides.
%95 of aftermarket turbo kits utilize a dump type setup because it simple and it works |

Re: I have a confession to make...
I was gonna say u can post the pics here from facespace.
I'm pumped to see your car, what do u plan on revving to? |
Re: I have a confession to make...
A couple other local 2.3 evos are reving to 9500rpm. But with that turbo I would guess 8000-8500 will be good.

Re: I have a confession to make...
Ill have the rev limiter at 8200 on the street and take it as high as 9 to get through the traps in 4th
|

Re: I have a confession to make...
Just trying to help here, it looks like power on a 6262 with a 2.3 will peak about 8500rpm anyway.
That is just what I have seen, it could be higher. Its my dream setup so I keep an eye on it. |

Re: I have a confession to make...
Yea it should have a really nice usable powerband from 5200-8500k No need to rev it more than I need to though. Will be daily driving this setup with a little autox/ drag on the weekends
|

He could make power past 8500rpm and I know about racing a little guy. I plan on doing the same he is, DD the car rev to 8500rpm on teh street and whatever i need to for the trap. (on this dream setup of course) |
Re: I have a confession to make...
looking good man!
|
Re: I have a confession to make...
This car looks like it will be very fun...sweet setup!
|
Re: I have a confession to make...
I guess I like the creativity behind the dump tube, but what about when it rains n stuff? Have you thought about what might happen if you get crud in the wg? ...just a thought.

Re: I have a confession to make...
Honda guys have been running the exhaust and dump tube out the hood for a long time. Not exactly sure if that is something you want to emulate though.
|
Re: I have a confession to make...
I know that my car got way nicer to drive when I recirculated the WG dump. Ask Mustgofaster how cool an open dump is when you're door to door the whole race.
|
Re: I have a confession to make...
nice build! is that a black gvr4 i see in the background??
|
Re: I have a confession to make...
I prefer the recirced. Doesn't sound as shitty as a dumped wastegate on a 4 banger.
Hey, nice setup!! $$$$$$$ Maybe you'll actually be able to beat some cars this year :) |
Re: I have a confession to make...
^Able to beat some cars?
|
Re: I have a confession to make...
Brian, what happened :(
Was it a new turbo? How did it feel before the turbo pooped on you? Persevere! I'm sure you'll have it figure out soon. |

The thing was fucking nasty on only 26 psi and 10.X afr's with no timing. Turbo popped in 2nd gear partial throttle with only about 40 miles on it. Overnighted it and its FP right now getting inspected. Im going to flip shit if I have to shell out $1800 on a new one. Ill keep ya updated:smile: |
