Evo X 3.5" Intake
Hey,
Mike told me to post here. Lomker brought my AMS intake for the X over to you guys to design the 3.5" version off of it. He also said you were ordering piping to make 2 of them? You should take pictures and have MAP vendor them or something, I am sure others will want it on a side note. Anyway, should I just drop off my flange when i get it, is there anything else you need? Re: Evo X 3.5" Intake
Yes he dropped it off yesterday. We will be ordering piping to make 2 maybe more. And yes just drop the flange off as soon as you get it.

Re: Evo X 3.5" Intake
Sweet, thank you sir. I will drop the flange off the day I get it.

ETS or someone will come out with one right after I pay for this. I'm always just a little ahead of where things are easy. |
Re: Evo X 3.5" Intake
Only so many ways you can weld 2 aluminum bends together :)

The flange will be late next week, just spoke with MAP. |

Nice, now i have to go back when my car drives to get the ends rolled, looks awesome though!

Re: Evo X 3.5" Intake
thanks guys, we also have our own version of the MAF flanges coming out soon!

Re: Evo X 3.5" Intake
Thought I would transfer some of the pics from the product development thread to this one. The intakes come either polished (pics above posted by mlomker) or powder coated wrinkle black. Note that the blow off valve recirculation pipe location on the wrinkle black intake is for a special application, and is not the default location.

Re: Evo X 3.5" Intake
Looks very nice guys! Are you going to be offereing a heat shield with the intake? I know there is a problem i think with the AC on and no sheild for the X's.

Re: Evo X 3.5" Intake
ETS finally released a 3.5" option a day or two ago. Only took them six months. :loser:

^True, cams have your idle high anyway, I have no reason to take mine off though, so it will stay.

Re: Evo X 3.5" Intake
You guys at Primo need to fix this:
http://www.maperformance.com/primo-p...-evox-aik.html No description of what is included and no picture. How am I supposed to talk up your shit when I don't know what is included in the production version? I've been handing out photos of my prototype but that doesn't really cut the mustard. |
Re: Evo X 3.5" Intake
That's not on Primo's end. That's MAP's. Their web designer needs to change that, and include the photos that have been posted of this product.

Someone at MAP needs their ass kicked since it's costing Primo money. This is a need for a lot of people and ETS is the only competition. ETS is on the forums pushing their products and Primo is not. I like to help out but there's only so much I can do there. |
Re: Evo X 3.5" Intake
Im having the photos done tomorrow!
I will also call up MAP in the am to have this taken care of, and to note, the kits include a K&N air filter, Silicon coupler from intake to turbo, and all necessary clamps. |
Re: Evo X 3.5" Intake
I sent them the info on what is included and what options we have. I will have to let them know to change that. Thanks for catching that!

Re: Evo X 3.5" Intake
Just fyi, the MAP website has been updated with new pictures and a description of the EVO X intake. We will be posting up an official thread for the intake with a full description shortly.

Re: Evo X 3.5" Intake
A 3" MAF maxes around 500 Dynojet, maybe upper 400's. The stock housing is certainly down there.
It'll be interesting to see where Hollywood's MAF voltages end up since he's doing a stroker build. |
Re: Evo X 3.5" Intake
At 570whp (DJ numbers) mine was hitting I think mid 4.7 V's at most. I think 600whp area is doable, I'd say 620ish will be the max. I am hoping to get to around 620ish with manifold work.
Just checked, I hit 4.73V at 8700rpm around 30psi (like 29.8 or something). So still have some room, that was on my 37psi tune. |

No, but typically for national forums and something like this Lomker and i have learned to talk in dynojet numbers otherwise people get confused, lol. Very few people know how low a dyno dynamics reads. |
Re: Evo X 3.5" Intake
Yea I would make sure the numbers listed also specify the dyno those numbers are from, basically just say should support 630whp (dynojet), 550whp (dyno dynamics).
I want one of these! The price is very nice. |

I really doubt that it is linear like that and using a single point on one log isn't a great way to do it, but I guess what I am trying to say is 630whp could be a bit much. I think just saying 600whp+ would be wiser so you don't get some noob blaming them for not being able to make more than 600whp :) |
