6 cylinders & 2 turbos, for now

I picked up a project car that has 6 cylinders and 2 turbos (for now). Should be fun.

Re: 6 cylinders & 2 turbos, for now

It's a Supra, they get driven less and break more than DSMs. The tabs are porbably right. :)

Re: 6 cylinders & 2 turbos, for now

I got a good deal and wanted another project. This car isnt perfect by any means but thats what I wanted. Something cheaper and needed some work. I have the front bumper and the side skirts and am going to keep them off because when I get to it, im going to go over the entire car and get it repainted. It is a 1993.5 targa tt auto. Ya Ya ya its an auto but it will be a fun auto. I am looking into a manual swap but the auto does not bother me right now.

Im going to go thru the motor and everything else when it is out. I will also sooner or later make it a single turbo and try and get some power out of it. I needed a change from DSM's so why not this.

Re: 6 cylinders & 2 turbos, for now

The autos are way better for drag racing and stop light to stop light racing, if you are into any of those. If you get an AEM EMS for it, the V2 boxes handle the auto much better.

Re: 6 cylinders & 2 turbos, for now

Shane have you ever tuned one of these using the AEM FI-C or some MAP-ECU program? Just wondering what you might recommend for tuning these if someone didn't want to go standalone.

Re: 6 cylinders & 2 turbos, for now

MAP ECU is a piece of junk. MAP ECU 2 is a little better, but it's still not very good. I haven't done an AEM FIC on one, but it should work better than a MAP ECU 2 and does have the ability to clamp the MAF or totally remove it.

Love it, as I told you 2 weeks ago. Yummy.

Re: 6 cylinders & 2 turbos, for now

I will be reading up on different tuning software but more then likely just going with something that the tuner (Shane) like tuning with the best.

What is up with this thing is that it is a slow project car and wont be done over night. I picked up a bunch of little stock interior and exterior parts that were missing when I bought it which were not cheap even used. I wont be able to build this thing well like you can a DSM so it will take a little time and way more money. I did pick up a set of rota bronze wheels for it today. They are 18"x8.5" fronts and 18"x9.5" rears.

Awesome wheels! When you sent us that text message, I told Aaron right away that they looked like some other Rota's I was considering. I think they will look great!

Kerry get the new nitto nto5r drag radial you will LOVE them. My buddy mark has them on his turbo cobra(puts down over 900hp, you know what mark I'm talking about).

Re: 6 cylinders & 2 turbos, for now

^you mean OUR friend mark, Kerry knows him too. lol

I was telling kerry we had to be pretty close to your place. That supra is awesome and it isn't some cheapy DSM people, it is a project needs some stock body pieces, but its clean.

Nice wheels man, I like that you texted us right after we left, but I'm disappointed I'm second in your list. :o(

lol (brandon told me to say that)

Hit me up when its wrench time.
