GheyrodX - bigger, fatter, gheyer!
 

This morning I picked up a brand new 2010 Wicked White Evo X GSR SSS! My local dealership had to do a dealer trade to get this exact car for me so it originally is from Oklahoma City. It has 35% window tint, the dealer interior and exterior "protection" stuff, and the optional wheel locks. All those things were dealer-installed prior to the dealer trade so I got it all for no cost. I also negotiated the Sport Interior Package into my deal but they had to order those things for me and they'll be in Monday (aluminum shift knob and e-brake handle that say "EVOLUTION" on them). The SSS package includes the 700-watt Rockford Fosgate system with a 10" sub in the trunk and Bluetooth integration, HID headlights, the larger rear wing, and the FASTKEY sytem (just keep the fob in your pocket).

More or less :) I've actually been planning on selling my IX and picking up another S2k for a while now, but then my IX got T-boned and gave me plenty of opportunity to test-drive all sorts of stuff. Scheides plus many others took the opportunity to toss me their keys to the X insisting I'll love it...they were right. I decided that I would miss the room and power of the Evo if I went with a S2000. I have been browsing the used ones for a few weeks now, but the few I actually liked were way over-priced and it seemed stupid when I could just pick up exactly what I wanted brand new with the 0% financing deal.

I've also been quietly gathering parts so I already have quite the pile of stuff here awaiting GheyrodX's arrival:
-Ultimate Racing dual-exit catback (with midpipe mini-muffler option)
-Perrin turbo inlet hose
-AFE Stage 2 intake system
-Tactrix 2.0 cable
-a whole pile of bushings and other misc. stuff I ordered from MAP yesterday
-Scheides is also supposed to pick up a DB MBC for me today from Shane

God damn all the "features" on these things are ridiculous! I just spent 20 minutes out in the garage getting the settings right so when I walk up to the car all the doors unlock rather than just the driver's door. The FASTkey thing is pretty neat though, just gotta walk up to the trunk and push the button (where a keyhole normally would be) on the trunk lid and it opens, no need to fish out the keyless remote.

Welcome to x ownership, the little things are what make this car enjoyable.

Just be sure to replace the battery in the fob before it goes dead, it will start doing funny things, dont ask me how i know.

Congratulations! I'm glad that you stayed true to the Mitsubishi community. I remember talking to you on at DB Dyno day and you said you were contemplating purchasing a S2000. Good thing you didn't get that! :score009:

Thanks guys! I missed a few turns last night coming home from a meet because I was too busy playing with all the buttons and features. I would say the feature I love most thus far is the Bluetooth integration, it just makes talking on the phone so easy while driving. The car drives incredibly smooth too, it just begs to cruise at 90-100 mph down the hwy. If anyone cares, the gearing is very similar to the IX 5-speed.

I also spent a few hours outside this morning washing, clay barring, washing again, then waxing the car. I wanted to seal in the newness :D

No doubt dude! A month ago I would have told you you're nuts for telling me I'd own a X...but a few extended test-drives was all that was needed for me to really appreciate this car and realize it is still a real Evolution underneath the extra comfort, smoothness, and quietness. I am also really happy that Janelle likes it too! She was none too excited about me getting another Mitsu, but when she first sat in it at the dealership yesterday she was very impressed and said she really likes it. She is still a bit sad I didn't get another S2k though :)

Congrats man, i agree with Swood its the little things that make the big difference and with all those features and the practicality of the X it sounds like a good choice.

LOL I did tell her to sell the WRX if she wants another S2k so badly...then she said if she sells the WRX it will be for the new 2011 STI. In all honesty though we're going to keep her WRX for at least a few more years and just enjoy having a paid-off vehicle.
