Our trip through the Ozarks!

Our trip included the Texas Piney Woods, the mountains in Arkansas, and a few bits of Missouri and spanned 4 days/3 nights.

route: http://tinyurl.com/22vx4po

The roads and scenery were simply breathtaking. I don't think we were able to hit 5th gear at all on day # 2 & 3, the roads were so tight and twisty it was nothing but 2nd and 3rd gear with a few short straights allowing 4th gear.

We also found plenty of good food including some Delta-style BBQ and chicken fried steak sandwiches.

How could I forget Branson, MO:

This is basically a Nashville, but for the washed-up country music singers. This place is a huge tourist trap/destination, especially for Midwestern seniors. We actually saw quite a few Minnesota license plates while here.

Naa, it normally sits perfect, the trunk was loaded down with 2 suitcases, my full toolbox (never can be too prepared), oil and oil filter, and a cooler of soda/water/beer.

I brought along stuff for an oil change just in case; last week I was having issues getting a Wix oil filter to seal against the housing, but it must have just been a defective filter because both Purolator PureOne and Mobil 1 filters are fine.

She also used to be single, does that make us not married? We have the documentation to prove our marriage and she has the documentation to prove she's legally a Texan :D

I just think you look way hotter in that black dress/sandals pic than with the boots. Now, if you were bent over, wearing daisy duke's and being sprayed with a garden hose, that would be a different story!

That reminds me, I think we need to plan a trip back there. Anna got a haircut up here and she hates it; wants to go back to that place she went to down there.

Too bad you weren't here last night when she was trying to figure out how to use the new lawn sprinklers we bought ;)

You live in Texas, you aren't from there. Quit trying to prove something that can't be proven. :)

Correct. We live in Texas. We are currently from Texas. We used to be single, now we are married. Originally we are from Minnesota, but if you want to get technical I suppose I should also stipulate that my mom's side of the family is originally from Poland and my dad's throughout the rest of Europe.

Thank you for taking the time in my thread about our vacation to point out her misuse of one word (according to your perspective at least).

Re: Our trip through the Ozarks!

Here is a post just for Matt D's clarification:
We are currently living in Texas, we are originally from Minnesota. Legally Janelle is a Texan (driver's license) but legally I'm not too sure of my standing since I still carry a MN license yet own a house down here. I will split the difference and call myself a Texasotan.

Get over yourself Matt D! It was a joke- yes, I'm from MN. Yes, I happen to prefer living in Texas and am embracing the culture.
Not out to "prove" anything.

I completely agree with this. I am very happy we made the move and am not going to hide my emotions regarding it, just like I did not hide my emotions towards Minnesota while we were still living up there. If it irritates someone then so be it, don't read my posts and threads :) I think we both prefer the culture down here which is obviously a personal decision; if you're happy living in MN then great, I'm happy for you, but don't rain on our parade just because we found happiness elsewhere.

Since when is adventuring out and experiencing more of life looked down upon? From the sounds of it, Tom really enjoyed living in SoCal for the years he did, but decided MN was better suited for raising a family. Considering the cost of living out there I definitely don't blame him.

I call it as I see it, deal with it. :)

hobbit (n): one of an imaginary race of half-size people living in holes

Nope, try again. Hermit, maybe?

hermit (n): A person who has withdrawn from society and lives a solitary existence; a recluse.

Nope, keep trying.
