I read the post from MNSC, I would love to hear more about his 6262 setup.

Why did he stop at 29psi?

Re: Since he hasn't posted. Another 500+ HP dsm

It was just a base tune. It has ALOT more in it.

Re: Since he hasn't posted. Another 500+ HP dsm

yeah a 6262 @29psi only doing 520hp seems pretty low on power. At 29psi you should have no problem hitting over 600whp.

I'm assuming full blown has a dynojet? At least that's what I recall

cudvig 06-01-2010 08:02 AM

Re: Since he hasn't posted. Another 500+ HP dsm

I think it was a highly conservative tune. It was its first time on the dyno and he didnt want anything blowing up. Haha he is having ALOT of fun with it though.

Im nit saying Ross socked at all anywhere, everyone should remember..just because the turbo is capable of x power, doesn't mean the rest of the setup will allow the turbo to do so. There could be a weak spot or something that explains the "lower" numbers. That being said, congrats to him and a fun car. It still makes more then 90% of this and most boards.

Re: Since he hasn't posted. Another 500+ HP dsm

The motor was put together by DB so I have no doubt that it is assembled correctly. It has eagle rods and wiseco pistons. The head is a SBR stage V and it has kelford 272s, and nicer springs and valves I believe? I wouldnt doubt he could rev to 9000 if his shep stage 3 tranny could hold it and shift it.

His intercooler is an ETS that supports 700-800 HP.

I would say maybe his spark is the only thing holding him back. He is on stock wires still but is planning on switching to COP sometime.

I'm with schieds, more info.

Weird to see that DB built the motor and he went to LJ for a tune. Either way seems likea fun car

Re: Since he hasn't posted. Another 500+ HP dsm

I just think he went to the tuner that could get him in since he wanted to drive it so badly.

I should add that he is tuning with DSMlink and 1600 on e85.

Car pulls like a beast.

I don't understand why 520 at 29 psi is low for a 6262. Please explain further? Maybe a compressor map.

That's a funny thing about the best guys in town...they get awful busy. lol.

I had heard that FB had a dynojet but didn't know who they had for a tuner. What's the scoop?

LJ from full blown tuned it.

I havent looked at any of his logs from link but probably will later today. Just to see how things are running.

Full Blown has a 2WD Dyno Dynamics dyno, but I had heard that they are getting or have already gotten an AWD dyno, unsure which kind. LJ (owner) is a competent tuner, he's had an S2000 and a few other Hondas there that put down good power.

Someone had told me at DB's dyno day that FB had taken delivery of an AWD Dynojet. I just don't see anything on their website about tuning services.

I thought LJ was the guy I spoke to when I bought my pump housing so I guess they are a small company.

VERY small, the shop is an old corner gas station. Unsure where the dyno is going, but he posted a teaser picture on MNSC a while ago.

Re: Since he hasn't posted. Another 500+ HP dsm

I know its an AWD. I think its a dynojet too.

They are now located in apple valley and no longer in bloomington at that gas station. He tunes a lot of evos and some hondas but I think DSMs are newer to him.

520 is ok, but Fullblown has an AWD Dynojet, so it's like making 445awhp on my dyno, which is good but nothing crazy for a 6262.

Hi I'm Ross. I love the car and hopefully i can make some more power out of the car soon. LJ at FB did a great job with the tune the car was a S.O.B. to just get tuned. They have a AWD DynoJet. Just wondering why these numbers are low?

Shane@DBPerformance 06-01-2010 11:23 AM

Re: Since he hasn't posted. Another 500+ HP dsm

They might not be low, it's hard to say, you never know from one car to the next. It's just making the same or lower numbers than guys with an FP3065 or SC61 might make, while you have a bit bigger turbo with a big exhaust housing. Looks like Full Blown was using STD mode also, which jacks the numbers even higher than SAE mode. STD is usually 2-4% higher than SAE on a Dynojet.

Congrats to you, the car must be a lot of fun looks like you have some good parts in there.

12.7 seems a bit lean though for a street car, unless you like it that way.

Re: Since he hasn't posted. Another 500+ HP dsm

This was a very conservative tune. We were battling with issues all day saturday and did not get too spend too much time to actual tune it. The a/f mixture on the graph is the max a/f on the run. That includes spoolup. The actual a/f of wot was around 11.5. We could of ran it leaner and definately use more timing but thats in the future. Hey Ross let if you want to crank her up and milk the power out. LJ

Thanks bro, Ill be coming by here more often. We just installed an awd dynojet at our new location. I used to own an evo but sold it. I wish I never sold it but we just purchased an evo x with a blown engine and we are going to rebuild it for some good power. Ill try to post up pics of some of the stuff weve been working on.
