Post Dyno Day Party @ JJ's Clubhouse!
 

After the dyno day is all said and done, we're going to have a casual (but FUN) get together at JJ's clubhouse near the corner of 394/hwy 100 (just west of xenia/park place, just east of louisiana). Come as you are, the place is a dive. They have awesome nachos, cheap beer and drinks, free popcorn, tvs to zone out and watch some sports and pull-tabs to blow a few bucks on, and a fun staff that enjoys jokes like 'what's the difference between peanut butter and jam?'

No set time, whenever we finish up tear-down from the dyno day. They have a big lot, but share rides so we can get silly. Stay till whenever, no plan other than to just ahve fun. We will all be beat from the dyno day so this will be purely to sedate our battered bodies. If you need a ride or a place to sober up afterwards, post up and we'll figure it out. Plenty of safe parking if you need to leave a car there overnight. :)

Bump! And reminder, this is an informal gathering. I'm going to call and see if they'll leave a section of the place open for us, but with no formal arrival time, I'm sure they'll laugh me off!

I'll tell them we'll be there around 8. So we can finish up, clean up, then head over there. Or just head straight there from the dyno day? Doesn't matter to me!

This will decimate all... after we put about fifteen grand or more under the hood.

$15k in 2001 turns into $18k in 2010 not a huge difference but considering the turbo you could get for $3,000 in an allready fast car.

Not to mention the $10-15k they would have had to put into the body! Did you see how f'in tweeked that passenger side A-Pillar was!

but yeah you're right Dom does say that when Jesse is inspecting the car, but later on Agent Bilkins wigs out and says "That was an EIGHTY THOUSAND dollar car!" after Johhny Tran's gang shoots it IDK how they put $60k into that 2g, assuming they bought it new for $20k and if only 10k was in the engine, where'd the other 50k go? Sparco seats? It's a very inconsistent movie.... but hey its my Favorite :)

+1. I love how that guy lets a veritable stranger wreck his car and isn't very concerned about it.

Did it? It introduced a lot of young people to cars they might not have known about before. Today it's video games.

People love to crack jokes about Karate Kid but martial arts schools had huge increases in enrollment.

I completely agree with Aaron, it did ruin the scene. Suddenly every fag with a 5" muffler on their stock civic thought they were the king of the street.

That movie is single handedly responsible for closing down Red Rock
(Which had been around since the 60's without issue)


Just because it sold a few extra neonz and intakes doesn't mean it did the car culture any good.

I kind of agree with the F&F movies ruining the scene, but honestly, F&F1 got me into cars in the first place and holds a special place in my heart (not very high up though). I think I turned out alright in the end haha :banana:

But yeah, a lot of ricers have come from it too, I agree. Me and 311evo's town are filled with these kind of people.
