Projekt Owdee

2007 Audi A4 S-Line 2.0T

Current Parts/Mod List:

-35% Tint
-Stasis Cat back with 3" Test pipe
-VDO Boost Gauge and Steering Column Pod
-APR Chip
-Michelin Pilot PS-2 235/40/18 Tires

I figured its been a year since I bought the car, I should probably start a build thread.

Pic when I bought the car last January:

First thing I did to the car was get it tinted 35%:

http://img392.imageshack.us/img392/3215/audi2.jpg

After that I got a VDO Boost Guage/Pod to go on above the steering column:

http://img249.imageshack.us/img249/4418/audi3i.jpg

After that it was Exhaust time... Full exhaust with Test Pipe. Stasis Cat back.

http://i165.photobucket.com/albums/u...ida/stasis.jpg

Threw it on DB's Dyno last spring with just exhaust as mods and this is what it made:

http://img297.imageshack.us/img297/5371/audi4a.jpg

Next it was Chip time. APR stock, 91 and 93, plus valet mode was installed at Further Performance.

I had it Dynoed at MAP last fall Dyno Day and here are the results. For some reason HP and TQ broke up or wasn't read right up top. We had trouble reading the spark signal as well.

I just picked up some used Eibach Pro Kit springs and also ordered new Bilstein Sport Shocks- which I had on the M3. I will love the non boat like handling it has now, but ill probably hate how stiff its going to be. (Thats what she said)

Those will be going on this weekend hopefully and should give it a stance like this:

Ill update this once I have those installed. Woot!

Looking good! The drop will be really nice. I love my pro-kit!

Re: Project Owdee

Awesome! The Prokits + Bilsteins should still ride pretty nicely. They're more comfortable than stock on both the Evo and WRX.

Re: Project Owdee

That looks like a good drop! I have a huge soft spot for A4's, especially S-lines. What else do you have planned? How about this? :D http://www.awe-tuning.com/pages/shar...&IL=b7gt28-71r

Is this thing AWD? These have the K04 turbo right?

How bout some under hood shots?

Re: Project Owdee

Very nice. I think you will enjoy the suspension. It'll be firm, but comfortable.

Re: Project Owdee

Im definitely looking forward to the suspension, but im going to hate downtown roads even more than I do right now.

The car is AWD and was a blast this past winter with snow tires. haha Unstoppable!

It has the stock K03 turbo on it and Id love to upgrade, but the costs are just too great. The only other thing I plan to do, is make my own intake soon. I want to hear more turbos.

For a DD its not so bad.

turbotalon1g 03-19-2010 12:59 PM

Re: Project Owdee

Nice, how much power did all that stuff improve over stock?

I don't know about the boost gauge on the column might take away from the pimpness.

Thats a big car.

A//// Guy 03-19-2010 01:19 PM

Re: Project Owdee

The boost gauge actually looks pretty factory. Ive been asked about it being stock. haha

WHP from stock is up about 60 and WTQ is up about 100 maybe? Im out of fuel, there isnt much I else I can do without upgrading the fuel pump- $600-1000. Id get maybe about 20hp if I did that alone. The tiny turbo is what is the limiting factor after that.

Re: Project Owdee

Thanks dudes!

Finally got install and after suspension pics. Sorry for the crappy phone pics.. Ill get better ones later.

I looooveed working on non rusty bolts. Got this done in about 5 hours. The rears were a bitch. They make you drop the whole rear subframe to get the rear springs out... but I got the rears out with a long 2x4 and some prying and pulling. :)

Ma rimz is jacked yo!

Looking good! Sucks about taking the sub frame out of the rear. How do you like the ride?

Kracka 03-25-2010 11:13 AM

Re: Project Owdee

I like the drop! Maybe a touch lower in the front would be perfect.

scheides 03-25-2010 11:18 AM

Re: Project Owdee

I love it! I say don't worry about the front, it's a nice drop and I bet its comfy as hell. Looks perfect to boot! No JDM rake needed.

Kracka 03-25-2010 11:29 AM

Re: Project Owdee

JDM rake FTW :D I prefer even fender gap front and rear, but even so the Prokit drop looks nice.

Me likey.

Re: Project Owdee

Seems like a lot of Euro cars always look like they have less gap in the rear, its an illusion though. The M3 looked the same way but the front end was actually lower to the ground than the rear.

Id prefer it to be lower up front too, but im not swapping the springs out again. haha

It rides nice and firm, close to stock but with less bouncyness, sticks to the ground better. I wanted firmer, but im sure Ill prefer this once its winter time and the roads are horrid again.

oh wait, you don't drive and Evo X...

Nice and beefy!

Re: Project Owdee

That front bar is a monster! On an awd car, shouldn't the rear be the same size or close to it? Audi's might be different with how far forward they like their engines....

Kracka 04-15-2010 08:55 AM

Re: Project Owdee

DSM's and Evo's have thicker front bars too.

Evos dog leg in slow sharp turns without stiffer suspension, and from the factory cars are designed to understeer and not oversteer.

Re: Project Owdee

Holy crap nice! Glad you're abiding by the 2-week rule for the cruise ;) Looks like an easy install though, good work.

A//// Guy 04-15-2010 10:50 AM

Re: Project Owdee

Haha I figured there was no tuning or fluids to spill and leak out, so the 2 week rule could be altered to two days. :P lol

The front bar was cake, the rear bar took some effort to try and remove without dropping the entire exhaust. Had to pry it out of there like a puzzle.

You have to install both bars with the car on the ground, so that made things trickier.

How the F did you get under the car?

I used ramps with some cardboard on the floor! haha Wasnt so bad.

Re: Project Owdee

Well ive been having part throttle drivability and boost loss issues at high RPM during long pulls, so I did some research and bought a PCV revamp kit.

It eliminates some of the emissions and puts a cap on the intake manifold for the PCV piping going to a stock plastic contraption that usually leaks.

Before with the old parts sitting removed:

http://img504.imageshack.us/img504/535/pcv4.jpg

After:

http://img704.imageshack.us/img704/4166/pcv1.jpg

It fixed my low drivability issues, as well as made the car feel alot stronger in the low end. So I eliminated a few leaks that way, but the high RPM boost issue is still there. So Ill be picking this up tonight:

That revamp kit makes things look a lot cleaner!

Re: Project Owdee

Looks alot better with the new kit!

turbotalon1g 05-11-2010 02:30 PM

Re: Project Owdee

clean.

U think u will be able to resell that thing easy with all the mods you are doing?

A//// Guy 05-11-2010 02:51 PM

Re: Project Owdee

Def looks cleaner! But you cant see it anyway because the engine cover sheilds all that. haha

I dunno if Ill find a buyer easily with the mods. Id probably take all those parts off though, and sell them on owdee forums to gain money back. Cant sell the chip though.
