|
Re: J Vo's GSX Spyder
Nice car! Hope to see you around the area this summer, I live in St. Cloud
|
Re: J Vo's GSX Spyder
Very nice. That is how I bought my 98 spyder new as a 2.4 auto.
|
Re: J Vo's GSX Spyder
Why not just have gotten a manual shell and save some time? They are really easy to come by and pretty cheap...
Then keep the 7bolt 2.4L, throw on a 7 bolt turbo head, awd.... muahahahahahhahahahahahahahaha |
Re: J Vo's GSX Spyder
it wasn't really that hard to convert. i bought a donor gsx manual. used all of those parts for the swap. juust another thing to add on my list of things i've done

Re: J Vo's GSX Spyder

ok so it has been a WAY long time since i have updated this. but the car is up and running. the only problem i have run into was leaking oil pump gasket and the transmission axle seal on the passanger side. other then that everything is working great!!

|
Re: J Vo's GSX Spyder
Why did you bump your project thread?
Neat project. You should get Evo Brembos! |
Re: J Vo's GSX Spyder
Looks good man! I agree, get some evo brembos, I can hook you up with some too :)
|
Re: J Vo's GSX Spyder
You should get this thing done so someone actually drives their awd spyder other than kerry when he had it. I love the white with black top

Re: J Vo's GSX Spyder
i do actually drive this thing. lol. but them my ambition to do something overwhelms me and i dig into it! i drove it last year to one of the cars and coffee events. but that was about it. and im hoping to get it done for Proving Grounds!!!! So if you see my car there. just drop by. im sure ill be around it! :) and what would a evo brembo conversion cost me if ya have everything for me?
|
Re: J Vo's GSX Spyder
i thought it would bring it up to the top.. but i just firgured out if you just update it, it brings it back up to the top. :) learn somethin new everyday!

Re: J Vo's GSX Spyder

|
Re: J Vo's GSX Spyder
What is a "e.b." shave?
|
Re: J Vo's GSX Spyder
^ Engine bay duh...
|
Re: J Vo's GSX Spyder
You were at the Proving Grounds correct? I remember right before I left I rolled up while Brandon was checking out your car. (I had the red 2gb GS-T). Nice car BTW!
|
Re: J Vo's GSX Spyder
I love the shave and tuck! Looks really good. Only thing I would like to see if new nuts on the shocks and upper control arm. Go to a junk yard and take apart an interior and use all those nice clean bolts to replace the underhood ones. It sounds dumb but it helps a ton.
You ever get that wiring figured out? |
Re: J Vo's GSX Spyder
Or you can simply just buy new ones. They're not that cheap.

Well its been a while since this thread has been revived. as im currently working on the 240. this is the last update for a while. since i last posted on the spyder there have been things small that ive done to her. i purchased some hids, awesome sick stickers. some more carbon fiber. fixed some pesky leave (which involved me re timing the whore). lowered/rolled fenders. found out the head gasket is out. I donno must have messed up somewhere doing the rebuilt. o well learn from your mistakes. cleaned up the dash a little (de whitening/shaving). here are some pics. its a little dirty.
