Finally!
My girlfriend and I have been going back and forth about where we're going to live once our lease runs out of our current apartment. After some deliberation, I convinced her to move to nice townhome instead of another apartment. So, instead of paying $850 for a small 2 bedroom apartment with no garage, and outdated cupboards and appliances, we'll be paying $1050 getting a 1600 sq. ft. two level 3 bedroom townhome with an attached two car garage! :D
It's a bit more space than we need, but because I snore like a mofo she wants her own room in case my snoring gets out of hand haha. Plus we'll have a third bedroom to either have a spare or turn in to an office. I'll be paying more than her since I'll be using most of the garage for the talon and my tool box, but either way I'm pretty excited to finally have a nice place to work on my car! Things might actually get done! |

Re: Finally!
Congrats! Apartment living sucks donkey balls.

Re: Finally!
Yeah, apartment living does suck. My stove's only large burner has been broken since August...Filed multiple work orders, told the property manager and what do you know, STILL doesn't work.

Re: Finally!
good luck on it.
we are moving out of our townhouse because of the fucking rules on working on cars. I get letters from the town house association and the city of maple grove about working on my car and other peoples cars from style all the time. so just be careful |

My girlfriend kept finding listings online. I'd call them up, get the basic info, ask what their policies are on working on cars. Turns out not many town homes like that. haha |

^^^Hey, you gotta do what you gotta do! $1800 for a 1br?! Where was this?! Did it come with free hookers and a fully stocked wet bar?
|
Re: Finally!
as long as the owners are fine with it and there rules are not as bad as ours here that will be great for you 2.
tpunx99GSX-thanks for the offer but we are looking a a place on 10 acers and has a 6 car garage and a barn in prior lake right now. Other than that I dont give a crap on what they send me in the mail since we are going to move any way |

California in general is WAY too expensive to live. I have grandparents in San Jose, cousins up in Sacramento, and a few friends in the LA area. And they all say the same thing. It's a beautiful place to live, but it's way too overpriced and over crowded. I always say I wanna move out of state to somewhere warm, but ya know, in some messed up way, I never wanna leave MN. |

Re: Finally!
A normal garage would be nice. I wasn't that into cars when I bought my condo. I couldn't imagine pulling a motor in the communal garage. haha. Was it a standalone?

Re: Finally!
Congrats!
I dont mind apartment living at all, if you live in a nice place. Heated parking and all the other amenities are so nice. Ill eventually have a house, but for now its cheaper to rent. |
Re: Finally!
Congrats thats awesome.
My association is a pain in teh ass about the number of cars and cars without motors but to be fair I think I had 7 to my household alone at one time. I just tell them to eat shit cause they suck. Never buy a home from sharper homes. My cousin lives in the lakes too and she has big house and they are under association too, I couldn't have a house and be under an association. Where is the new place? I didn't see it, even if u posted it up already. |
Re: Finally!
The new place is about a mile away from us in Mankato. She's a full-time student at MSU, and I work. Ideally I wanted a house. There are a few nice 3 bedroom houses for rent for ~$800/month with either an attached or detached 2 car garage. But we decided on the townhome because a) they do all snow removal and lawn care b)if something like the water heater or a/c goes out they'll send someone in to fix it at no charge c) townhome built in 2005, house built in 1960? haha
No pictures yet, my camera is broke. But once we move in I'll get some good pictures up! As far as apartment living goes it CAN be nice. It all depends on the owners. I like my apartment now. For my 1 bedroom I'm paying $600/month w/o utilities, It's damn near 750 sq. ft. and it's a corner unit. I don't like the owners though. Douche bag comes to mind when describing them. And like I mentioned earlier my large stove burner has been K.I.A. since last year. I'm really excited to get in to the new place, but I fucking hate moving. Moving stresses me out. So does trying to find a new place. There were nights were I'd just lay in bed all night thinking about what the hell we were gonna do. I'm glad it's over. |
Re: Finally!
Nice, yeah my townhome was brand new finished a couple months before I got into it and new appliances.
Congrats you will love it. |
