Even Jalopnik had it listed as such during the Forza car pack voting, lol.

That intake tubing seems somewhat familiar, like it was on my car before or something... :D Good luck with that thing, should be a beast once you get it all squared away.

I think it'd be cool to find a way to hide that FMIC a little more. Not sure how, but then it'd really suprise people.

Re: Mitsubishi Mirage Pics

Put all the gauges out of view, not too many cars can pull a sleeper look these days you could make that shit famous esp. if you can hide that FMIC a little better.

Good luck.

Put the tube back on the bov. It is there for a reason. No vta on it.

I gave jake a 2nd front bumper the the evo 3 fmic sits in side of. He just needs to find the right fenders to put it on the car.

Also the fmic is also mount realy close to being right on the lower core surport there is no way to get back any more than it is. Also the coupe bumper cuts way back on the bottom and is a few in's from the core surport.

Ihearrtdsm 02-09-2010 04:37 AM

Re: Mitsubishi Mirage Pics

takes some parts, welding, and cutting like in TKR's thread to make it awd. Also depends on what gen.

I replaced my thermostat today because i didn't have any heat. The thermostat wasn't the problem :angryfire:. So anyway one of the flanges cracked off were the bolt goes through on the housing so i have to sit around(:wank:) and look for a used/new one of those and fix the gas leak before it comes back outa the garage.

Halon 02-09-2010 10:12 PM

Re: Mitsubishi Mirage Pics

gas leak?

How bad did the housing crack? If it's not horrible, maybe one of the local shops could weld the crack, just a thought.

it is a 1995 mirage ls.
it started out as a 1.8 auto.
when I bought it it had really bad rod knock. So I started to swap it then it just got out of hand on what I was doing to it, but I had 90% of the parts laying around to start with.

Sweet!

I believe the 2 door mirage is the lightest car you can swap a 4g63 into. It should be a fun car!

mirage hatch 89
mirage coupe 93-95
mirage sedan 93-95 ( a evo III is 2777lbs for a gsr Power and sunroof)

Alright i have to get back up on this

First off the car is still going good and i just passed 1000 miles.. WOOT!
I fixed the gas problem and finally stopped trying to be HULK and got in a T. stat housing without cracking it. I also redid the gas plug. The boost gauge is going in tonight because i finally found my single gauge holder. Since i last posted i hit a pot hole and popped the tire ( soon found out i bent the rim). I just got the rim fixed last night from some grimy looking dude that only charged me 10 dollars and also special thanks to Pete(polishmafia) for putting on another tire for me.

Just thought i would let everyone know whats going on.

I like the 2G airbox, very factory looking. I tried getting one to work on my 1G last night, no bueno. Looks like yours has more room there.

It just fit. I had a hard time to get it in there. The mirage engine bay is tiny compared to a dsm. I had to cut out the full flex section of the stock intake tube to get it all to fit in there. But it worked out just fine and it was only a beer for spaz to get the intake tube, air box,and drop in k&n filter.

Alright now i think either the water pump or alternator is bad because it is making some annoying ass humming sound. Next i am almost positive i got a bad lifter or something wrong with a valve because it has a little bit of a knocking noise.

Twitch 04-10-2010 11:28 PM

Re: Mitsubishi Mirage Pics

Ok so i know a lot of people think i might be being rude to mark and sayin that it could not have been mark that made my engine throw a rod but i have proof that it was in fact mark. Recently i purchased a new block from Iceminion. He insisted that he help me take my old engine apart and put my new one back together. When we were taking the old engine apart we found chunks of RTV blocking oil squirters. the RTV was put on in large amounts around the oil pan and sucked up through the pickup tube so my motor was getting little oil. Also the 14b turbo he gave me (which he had taken apart and did god knows what to it before he put it on my car) was shot and had 1/4 of shaft play. I was told thats what mad the whining noise so i also had to buy an Evo III 16g.
