The bike chain one is something else. I can't imagine being calm enough to stop and take pictures of the carnage. All I can say is wow...

All are fails except for the Bugatti crash, which was a success. A successful insurance scam.

Oh man, I will not be eating breakfast this morning, after reading the bike chain thread. Apparently gixxer guys and miata guys are ruh-tards, the both made this list twice lol.

You might think they would consider hooking onto the frame not the rear wheel to tow the car... just a thought.

Um, who cares? It was already a write-off.

might be a little easier since they broke a strap or chain or whatever trying to pull it as an anchor. I could give 2 shits less if they wreck something, just easier to get done if they let it roll...

Guessing Bob the tow truck driver forgot his scuba gear.

Yea, I didn't understand there towing methods. Dragging an awd (that looks to be in gear) supercar onto a flatbed doesn't seem like the best option.

What do they care? They get paid the same whether its a Bugatti or a Geo. Not to mention, after driving into a lagoon I think towing methods are the last thing to be concerned with.

Re: Top 10 Auto Fails of 2009

I dont know if I told anyone here this, but I was replacing my front crank seal this past summer. Well I had reinstalled my timing belt and was about to rotate the engine a few times to make sure the belt tensioner was adjusted correctly. Well I had my key on listening to the radio, started to turn the crank and the engine fired, and pulled one of my fingers right through the crank sprocket and timing belt. Finger nail turned black and lost it within a few days.
