I believe the idea is that the ground will be hard... there may be some snow, but probably not much.

What's the least amount of ground clearance one would want? My car isn't slammed by any means, but it isn't stock ride height either.

Re: Rallycross School--December 12-13th

I can measure where my car is at, my car has more than enough ground clearance. Stock DSM height.

Re: Rallycross School--December 12-13th

High enough that it'll clear any ruts that form. And I don't think you have to worry about that when the ground's frozen.

Put on a skid plate and you'll be fine!! J/K!!

Shouldn't be too bad. Stock 1st gen talon height will clear it. My stock height 85 MR2 had no problems all year (except when the ground was muddy!!). The only issue I had was when I got off of the racing line and into the fluffy dirt.

Well, the link in the original post has been updated with the details about the classroom session on saturday night. I believe it will be at the Arden Hills Davanni's from 6-9pm. But check the link to make sure.

Hope to see some DSM's out competing this up coming season. We will be having a planning and scheduling meeting coming up soon. I'll get more details out when they become available.

They also spent a good deal of time out there grooming the course for the school. They tilled it and then packed it down so it should be pretty good.

with recent weather events, i'm thinking this is gonna be a whole lot more fun now :) Assuming it won't get canceled because there is snow on the ground

It won't get cancelled for snow. My first rallycross many moons ago was in a field full of 8-10 of fresh powder that fell the night before. It was a blast!! Ask Allan! He should still have the video from it. I have it on my Myspace page.

If you go to the video section (tab at the top of the page here) and look at the March 2003 Rallycross video, that was the snow one. The video above it that says April 2003 was the same field one month later. Fun times man!!

BTW, Allan was the one that put those videos together back then. I still love watching those things and remembering back to then. Man did we have fun that summer!!

I really put my car through its paces yesterday, gave it hell. Bounced it off the rev limiter more yesterday than I have total up to this point :) Also ran it into a snowbank and cracked (I think) my intercooler.

That's part of the fun, replacing the broken shit. Means you get to go bigger.

I didn't make it out, a couple other things came up that I felt were more important, but it would have been nice to get out with the camera for once this winter.

Re: Rallycross School--December 12-13th

Relief. Found out the problem was my boost gauge. The little inline filter was cracked (appeared to be intact) but I was yanking around on it and it just completely broke in half. I think it was leaking. Put a little fuel filter in there, and the car is registering normal boost! Was wondering why the car still seemed to drive normal (though, when I noticed boost was low, I drove like a granny till I could get it figured out)
