Shooting at Fort Hood, TX
There are 12 confirmed dead at this time, one of them being one of the gunmen. Estimated about the same amount injured, maybe more. They are not sure what was used, one of the gunmen was in military uniform, and using a pair of handguns. They were shot while doing deployment readiness, near the 1st CAV headquarters. The post is locked down, and to be honest, getting a hold of anyone could be hard, I bet there is a shitload of cell activity.
Both shooters were soldiers, and 31 are confirmed wounded. Both soldiers are in custody now. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/33678801...me_and_courts/ Crazy. Especially since we have a member of our site at a base in TX, not sure if its hood though... |
Re: Shooting at Fort Hood, TX
Last I knew (a few hours ago) Aaron was near Austin which isn't far from Ft. Hood.

Re: Shooting at Fort Hood, TX
Fricken scary nonetheless. This is the biggest shooting I can remember with 43 total people killed/injured.

One person from MN was killed and another injured. What crap! I wish they still did a firing squad so this douche could feel what its like to be the people he murdered.
I saw the thing about the office shooting in florida too. Its really getting to be a crappy week all around. |

I like how they are trying to say it's not related to terrorism!! B. FUCKING S. it isn't!!! If this isn't a real example of domestic terrorism, I don't know what is!!
And shame on anybody who knew this guy's rap and did not say or do anything about it!!! BTW, do the math: 13 dead + 30 injured = at least 43 shots that hit their mark!!! |

Maybe we have a huge conflict of interest in the military these days. But here's an example of how a minority gets special treatment from the government through fast track programs and free education, but his superiors and friends are scared to say anything about his beliefs and how they could cause a problem for the safety of others. Even his military paperwork should have raised some red flags. But once again, nobody says anything for fear of being called a racist. Maybe his recruiter should have said, "Hey look, we know you want to fight for and serve the United States of America seeing as how you were born and rasied here, but at this time we are fighting terrorist with your same religious beliefs and this could be a major conflict of interest for you. Tell ya what, if we ever start fighting the Jews, we'll give you a call." No offense intended towards anyone here that is Jewish, just making a point. |
Re: Shooting at Fort Hood, TX
Also, another point, his deploying to Afghanistan would not have had him fighting the enemy. He was being deployed as a psychiatric doctor over there. So he would have been behind the scenes helping our soldiers cope with the stresses of combat. So his argument about having to fight his own people is out the window. They should have just let him die on the spot. Oh, but wait, that would have been inhumane, forget about the 43 victims!! He's the only victim in this!!

The people who tend to commit acts of terrorism, which this particular scenario doesn't yet seem to be proven one, more often than not are extremists. They are violently intolerant of anything other than their own views on [insert anything here]. The same extreme intolerance appears in this thread, and especially in this comment....I really hope that no one on 'Style is a bigot in this day and age. |

"Mr. Awlaki said Monday on his English language Web site that Mr. Hasan was “a hero.” The cleric said, “He is a man of conscience who could not bear living the contradiction of being a Muslim and serving in an army that is fighting against his own people.” He added, “The only way a Muslim could Islamically justified serving as a solider in the U.S. Army is if his intention is to follow the footsteps of men like Nidal.”" |

I'm not commenting on this specific incident, he very well may have been a terrorist and joined the military for the sole reason of doing this. I don't know. However, it is deplorable to support segregation of any kind. By the way, we're not at war with 'the Muslims'. |
Re: Shooting at Fort Hood, TX
Luckily in this country we all have the right to form our own opinions :) I'm also glad that I finally live in a state that generally agrees with mine.

Re: Shooting at Fort Hood, TX
Now that this guy is awake and talking they should drag him into the yard, open fire on him, and let him go tell his god face to face how great he is.
Seriously though, will he be prosecuted under TX state law allowing the death penalty or will a separate set of military law come into play? *edit* I just looked into it a bit further and it is possible he will face the death penalty. |
Re: Shooting at Fort Hood, TX
Whoopy, let's save him so we can KILL HIM!!!! :usa1:

Re: Shooting at Fort Hood, TX
I didn't read this thread for a few days because I knew what would be in it, and I was right, whenever this type of shit happens you will always different sides of opinion. However, you will always get the whiny tree huggers that will say that it had nothing to do with religion and personal background. What fucking planet are you on?
Of course it has everything to do with religion, it has everything to do with the fact that we let individuals into our military that practice the same religion as the people we have been fighting against for years. How many fucking times is this country going to get burned before we say fuck all of these assholes and not let any of them do shit, even come into this country for that matter. Sure it is ignorant to label every person that wears a rag on their head a terrorist, but at the end of the day can you blame anyone for thinking that? Look at what has happened over the years, we trust, try to be diverse, equal opportunity, free speech (religion), then in the end innocent people get fucking killed because some towel head got a calling from his god and started shooting everybody. Great he will get the dealth penalty, but thats even bitter sweet, easy way out since most of those douche bags want to fucking die anyway, there are plenty of better ways to make him pay for what he did (insert anything here). "Nidal Hassan (sic) is a hero," Awlaki said. "He is a man of conscience who could not bear living the contradiction of being a Muslim and serving in an army that is fighting against his own people." That says it all. This whole thing just pisses me off, especially people who are sticking up and feeling bad for this guy. |
Re: Shooting at Fort Hood, TX
I'm not sticking up for the guy, and I would push capital punishment for him. But I disagree with disallowing Muslims in the military. Sure we are at war with some of them right now, but if we ever go to war with a country of white people of Christian beliefs, should most of the military not be allowed to fight against them?
I know there are millions of Muslims that don't agree with the actions of terrorists; it's not acceptable in my opinion to group them all together. They don't all want to destroy our country. I'm good friends with people of different beliefs and they don't want to kill for religious differences. |
Re: Shooting at Fort Hood, TX
Kracka for President of the One United State of Texas! ;)
Along the same lines of discussion in this thread... I have a close family friend who grew up in Iraq, and hearing his views on what happened in Iraq the last 20 years really makes you feel different feelings across the board. I can understand where the feelings of this "solider" are coming from, but there is absolutely no excuse for what he did. As far as I am concerned he is a domestic terrorist and should be executed... painfully. |
Re: Shooting at Fort Hood, TX
Well said Blizz.
My question is why do these muslims live here if they hate our country and military so much? Go back to your own damn country and get blown up in some market by another whack-job. Gee, that sounds wonderful, no wonder they hate America... Oh yeah, its because we "allow" our women to show their faces in public! |
Re: Shooting at Fort Hood, TX
Yeah we just had a little talk about this at work, a buddy of mine that just got back from Iraq said that they are so desperate for soldiers that they will enlist individuals before they are even citizens of the US, once they are enlisted they rush them through the citizenship process and on they go.
It's our open door policy that is fucked up, if it were up to me I would close the fucking gates to all these douche bags that want to come to the US and fly their home countries flags and shit. If your country is so great and you are so proud of it that you want to paste your flag in the bag of your truck then GO BACK THERE! I think this country has done enough helping out for awhile, stop immigration until you can take care of your own people first, stop fighting other peoples battles and fix shit in the US first. If we stopped taking in all these fucking terrorists, through attrition we wouldn't have to worry as much about it. But with our open door policy it will just never stop, I read some stat that there is an estimated 5,000 single sleeper cell terrorists in the US at any given time. My question is HOW THE FUCK DID THEY GET HERE IN THE FIRST PLACE? |
Re: Shooting at Fort Hood, TX
Kracka and Blizzard hit it on the head of the nail!
If anybody wants to turn this country into something that models what another country is or does, why not just pack your shit and move there??? Sure seems like the easiest thing to do instead of wasting years of your life trying to change this country. See, this one thing is what really separates the liberals from the conservatives. Conservatives think YOU have the ability to take care of your self and that government should just be the "watch dog" that lays out the laws that make it fair for everybody to be on a level playing field, makes sure those laws are followed while getting out of the way and standing on the sidelines of your life. Liberals on the other hand think YOU can't wipe your own ass without them telling you what's the best way to do it while taxing you to death to support the "how to wipe your ass" agency they created to put your money into their pockets. |
Re: Shooting at Fort Hood, TX
So, let me get this straight. Based on what most of you have said here it sounds like you guys would have been in favor of the Japanese internment camps during World War 2. Do you also favor McCarthyism?
And, 1ViciousGSX, when you say "If anybody wants to turn this country into something that models what another country is or does..." who or what are you referring to? Correct me if I am wrong but I'm pretty sure this country was founded under the principles of equality for all men and freedom from political and religious persecution. Reminds me of simple quote: Those who forget the past are condemmed to repeat it. |
