I have good healthcare, Im not going to march to have it taken away.
|
Re: March for health care!
Go to the local VA and report back if you still support government ran healthcare. It might take you a couple weeks to report back though if you actually decide to wait to see the doctor before reporting back.

Re: March for health care!
A govt run public option... I'm down for that. I can pay for it with my money thats insured by the FDIC or mail my payments using the USPS!
Oh wait... USPS is going under, and so is your govt insured money. |
Re: March for health care!
Yes, let's march for something we know nothing about!
Obama, our pied piper. |
Re: March for health care!
You Guys are so typical when it comes to your conservative views. The Government will not take away your current healthcare and never has stated that. Im fucking getting sick of all the obama haters. I mean seriously get fucking over it. HE IS YOUR PRESIDENT and that will not change.

Re: March for health care!
Tom, do some research on how health care in Canada and the UK works. Or, actually, doesnt.
You can be all for obama, I dont care, but Goverment control of health care is just scary. |
Re: March for health care!
Government control of the roads and highways isn't so bad, you all seem to like it fairly well. Everything that Obama has done so far has been met with great criticism and hate, yet when implemented, people don't really have a problem with it because it doesn't take away from their lives or impact them negatively (at least not anywhere near as much as fox news or rush limbaugh would have you believe). Yes, I know it's still is early in his presidency, but that's how it seems to me.

Its like the speech he is planning on doing at schools and once he announced he was going to schools republicans were like "OMG HES TRYING TO BRAINWASH OUR CHILDREN!!!" And then he releases the agenda and its all about telling kids to stay in school. And they come out and say "Well... um no matter what i dont want him speaking to my kids" Republicans are not even giving him a chance to suceed, AS WELL AS THE PEOPLE ON THIS BOARD, you know who you are. Give the man a break and let him at least try. To a/// GUY, I have done much research on the subject at hand, and there are always two sides to every story. Some people love the healthcare in canada. Austria and Germany are also two countries whom i have spoken with people from both of those countries and both agree that Austria and German have SUPERIOR healthcare then america. Dont fucking give in to the voices on talk radio "BRAINWASHING" you into thinking the Universal Healthcare is going to take away your current healthcare plan, Assign death panels to decide who must die and who shall live, and that your government will run your life. (more than it already does) The Health care plan is not about taking away, its about giving every american the right to live a healthy life, investing in preventative healthcare, allowing for clinics to open that are all about preventative screening of cancers, and other diseases. Socialised healthcare will only help those who are willing to let it. To the rest of you keep your overpriced healthcare. Just dont get sick, you wont be covered. |

Plain and simple, I just don't agree with this plan. I don't like how Social Healthcare works in any of the other countries that do it, and I don't like how our own goverment runs it's current medical programs (again VA hospitals ). So I don't like the idea of it expanding it's control to a larger scale. That's it, no Obama hate from me. Just don't agree with this idea. |
Re: March for health care!
Having died twice already I can say I'm greatfull that I had care through my company and not the goverment. People are coming here from Canada to get treated because of the wait!!! Oh I love crusing in my remix eclipse thought I would talk about cars just because.

Re: March for health care!
My wife just had a baby three weeks ago, and it couldn't have been a better experience as far as healthcare is concerned. As is every visit I've had for years and years. The system right now works perfectly well for those who work for a living and pay the costs. Could we make it less expensive for everyone? Absolutely, start by opening it up countrywide instead of just within individual states, take away regulation that says insurers have to cover abortions and all the other BS that only a very few people need, then get some real tort reform so doctors can do their job instead of waiting for the next welfare recipient to try and get rich by suing a doctor. This really isn't that hard, and to try and completely revamp a system which already works great for 95% of America is just plain stupid. If you want to pay the healthcare premiums for illegal aliens, sign right up on the dotted line. Personally, I'd rather just pay for my family's needs.
Oh, and the stuff about that he's trying to reach out to Republicans? Try opening a newspaper and read up on how Pelosi and Reid wanted to ramrod this healthcare plan through before summer session and also trying to rebuff the constitution and push it through without the proper amount of votes. Reaching out, my ass. Reaching around maybe. They're all in bed together. |

Re: March for health care!
^^ Don't confuse the military with the government (i.e. the VA)
The military can't take care of shit because there is too many people that do things by-the-books instead of doing things using some common fucking sense. |

Oh, and about the Obama visiting schools thing. He's trying to push curriculum through (which the federal gov't is NOT empowered to do) that asks questions like, "In what way does President Obama inspire you?" If you can't see that as propaganda, then I'm sorry. |
Re: March for health care!
in my opinion the health care system is fine, it just that the government isn't getting their money back due to all the state appointed healthcare programs and all the people that use these "free" healthcare programs to their advantage, which gives them a huge debt, even though tax payers are paying for it. So in all reality i feel that they used the people to screw themselves, and now they are just gonne screw it up more.

Re: March for health care!
There is a certain logic to the public plan that I like. Larger pools of insured lower premiums for everyone. Also you'd have coverage if you lost you job. It really hits home to me because my small employer just raised our premium contribution by $100 a month. The boss said he had to do it, drop health insurance all together, or go out of business. I don't know if any of you have had the unfortunate situation of having to get health care whilst unemployed, but the cheapest plans go for $100 a month with $5000 deductibles. How are you suppoed to afford a hospital visit costing $5000 while unemployed? Plus if my boss didn't have to pay high premiums he could afford to give all the employees the raises we've forgone for the last few years. Boss told us he spends $20000 on each of us for healthcare. So by no means think that you get "free" healthcare from your employer. It's costing you a whole lot in wages.

I agree with some of your points about how expensive coverage is for employers, but about this...
