Spring Dyno Day 2009 Results
Thanks TON for all who helped. I have forgotten how much I rely on Anna and her bad-ass organizational skills to make dyno days a breeze (she's sick, and was only there for a few minutes today). Thanks again to all our sponsors, vendors, and of course our awesome members!
Please post dyno plots as well as pics here! |
Re: Spring Dyno Day 2009 Results

Re: Spring Dyno Day 2009 Results
I made 315hp and 315 torque on the ebay 16g, e85, jmf smim, bc 280s, 1600s. :p
Boost spiked to 32psi @ 4800 then fell quickly down to 24 @ redline. I was hoping for an extra 10hp, but I'm satisfied with the results. Odd, my wideband was running high 11 afrs compared to db's which hovered around mid 12s. |
Re: Spring Dyno Day 2009 Results
well thank god for the omni, otherwise my car would have made lowest power....whew!!
thanks for the rides again kracka and janelle! I had an exhaust gasket go out between the cat and the catback so it rumbles way nice now. all the more reason to get that downpipe now!! |
Re: Spring Dyno Day 2009 Results
^ Unfortunately that can happen depending on the brand of wideband and where it's mounted. Great power man!
Today was a freaking HAPPY day for me. My car puked coolant all over the dyno and I felt like a big jerk, but at the same time it looks like I have unlocked the power it's been missing for some time! Freaking riot, I did a little irish heel kick I was so pumped! Time to FIX the coolant pushing issue and then get it on the dyno for a better tune. http://www.scheides.com/albums/sprin...0002.sized.jpg Pump Gas only: 375whp/323wtq @ ~24psi Pump+ 50/50 Alky/water: 394whp/371wtq @ ~29psi AFR's in the mid 11's on all runs Once issues are resolved who knows what will happen. Maybe I can gun for 400whp on pump gas? Head will prolly have to come off again to do a new headgasket, maybe I should get it ported..... :D who knows, I'm freaking ecstatic. The goal for anna's car since I got it was 200whp/240wtq on DB's dyno. I'd say we've reached that goal: http://www.scheides.com/albums/sprin...0006.sized.jpg 197whp/236wtq @17psi, tapering to 11psi @ redline. AFR's in the high 11's, perfect. Anna was sick as a dog but she told me she dished out some smack talk to Craig and Peter on her way out, "197 bitches, eat it (pointed at craig) and eat it (then pointed at peter)". I LOL'd, her car is about on par with a stock evo! With a high pressure direct injection fuel pump and retune she should be up another 15-20whp, I dunno if the car really needs it :D Highest WHP Mitsu car beat out a few others! Bill Tschada w/ a prototype stock-appearing turbo put down 414whp in his evo8 on E85: http://www.scheides.com/albums/sprin...0388.sized.jpg (I'm grabbing his ass right here, LOL!) Pull-off champions Brandon and Blageo http://www.scheides.com/albums/sprin...0389.sized.jpg Smallest tshirt award, brownman: http://www.scheides.com/albums/sprin...0390.sized.jpg Pic of hot chick in schwag to send back to donating shops (in hopes of more of course!): http://www.scheides.com/albums/sprin...0391.sized.jpg The final list (yes there's a few missing, sorry): http://www.scheides.com/albums/sprin...0393.sized.jpg Haley WON name-dat-powa vs shawn's omni. She claims she had no help from her dad (Danny @ DB (I think?)): http://www.scheides.com/albums/sprin...0359.sized.jpg I took super random pics the rest of the day. http://www.scheides.com/albums/sprin...0361.sized.jpg This is mid-pull, thus the scrunched faces from the exhaust: http://www.scheides.com/albums/sprin...0362.sized.jpg http://www.scheides.com/albums/sprin...0363.sized.jpg http://www.scheides.com/albums/sprin...0364.sized.jpg http://www.scheides.com/albums/sprin...0366.sized.jpg http://www.scheides.com/albums/sprin...0368.sized.jpg http://www.scheides.com/albums/sprin...0369.sized.jpg http://www.scheides.com/albums/sprin...0370.sized.jpg http://www.scheides.com/albums/sprin...0372.sized.jpg http://www.scheides.com/albums/sprin...0373.sized.jpg http://www.scheides.com/albums/sprin...0374.sized.jpg http://www.scheides.com/albums/sprin...0375.sized.jpg The black biotch! http://www.scheides.com/albums/sprin...0376.sized.jpg http://www.scheides.com/albums/sprin...0385.sized.jpg |

Re: Spring Dyno Day 2009 Results
What happen to all the 1g's? I just pulled mine out of storage and got 2009 tags yesterday to make it to this event. The only other 1g was Tou's.
Had a great time and met some people I have not seen in ages. Can't wait for the Mitsu meet in the fall! Scheides keep up with the great work! |
Re: Spring Dyno Day 2009 Results

Re: Spring Dyno Day 2009 Results
Thanks everyone for the awesome Dyno Day.
Scheides doesn't need a new motor but needs to get a new headgasket. He will get 400+ out of that setup easily! :D Mike Erickson technically wasn't part of the dyno-day but he had Shane tune his car afterwards and he made some promising power with the Red before running out of fuel. Also, I have a nice Perrin air filter for sale! ;-) Fun day for sure |
Re: Spring Dyno Day 2009 Results
Thanks everyone! That was alot of fun, glad i could finally make it out fo a dyno day! Hopefully next time I can get my car up on the rollers! Thanks to cbrd for my ...er i mean Rachaels new hat!

Re: Spring Dyno Day 2009 Results
Not to mention Jim finally replaced his damn spark plugs and picked up what, 45whp he had lost along the way? :D
|
Re: Spring Dyno Day 2009 Results
Thanks for the fun day. I haven't been around in a bit and it was fun seeing the old dsmers. I didn't recognize most though. It would have been nice to see a few more dsms. Pretty happy with what the Viper got considering it is stock aside from catbacks that I just finished installing before driving there. I will need to take them off and install plugs in the rear 02 bungs to get rid of the leaks though.

Re: Spring Dyno Day 2009 Results
Thanks to everyone who donated or lent money for me to dyno my car, haha! Too bad it wasn't all warmed up, it probably would have made that extra 10 hp and tq it's missing. I laughed at that picture of me getting blasted by my exhaust, damn I'm ugly! I just realized that.

Re: Spring Dyno Day 2009 Results
Great time, glad everyone came out and made the event what it was.
Sorry that I am not a small and in the pic you posted it looks like I am yanking myself with an extremely small shirt on. Also learned something today. |

Re: Spring Dyno Day 2009 Results
The white board says my name for the Viper but it is actually James (slowbubblecar). Definitly suprised that nothing was able to beat the viper for HP but very supprised at the tourque figure as his car can hook in first gear. That means I must be pushing 500 or something is quite different in our rear ends as I cant hook in 2nd.
Little more HP and tourqe and he may be able to beat a 16g car (huh Aaron???). Nice to see that some of the evos made good power but wonder where all the other dsms were. When I would go to these 4 years ago, there would be all 1g and 2g dsms with a couple making 500 whp (nash and john). That was on a 2wd dyno and it required some work to convert. With the AWD dynos, I would figure everyone would throw their car up on the rollers. Sounded like a good time, I will have to try and make the next one. |
Re: Spring Dyno Day 2009 Results
The 1Gs are now in the same class a Starion/Conquests was 4 years ago.
|
Re: Spring Dyno Day 2009 Results
Haha funny, I never noticed the typo on the board, I talked to James for a bit but not sure what happened when the name went on the board!

Re: Spring Dyno Day 2009 Results
fun time yesterday, let me know what i needed to do with the fiero which is add a bunch more fuel to the thing which we did once we got home. Nice to find the car got about 22 mpg cruising down the freeway.
A for the mini it gained about 15hp from last time it was up there even thought the stupid unichip was making it go lean as hell so i ripped it out of the car when I got home so now it runs really rich. once my lil hangover goes away I'll look for the charts and put them up. |

Also you jokers need to be able to know how to drive the thing. The one i beat made 408 and 430TQ no correction at LSE. Gorgeous car though that color is hot. What was bills turbo? that thing spooled insane. |
Re: Spring Dyno Day 2009 Results
Actually, the last think I raced was a viper before my turbo blew in the 1g..it wasn't even funny. touche. How much do those cars weigh?
