Re: Little. Blue. Different.
I just JIZZED IN MY PANTS.

Re: Little. Blue. Different.
Why the blue compressor wheel? It's not like you'll be able to see it.
|
Re: Little. Blue. Different.
Scheides, you need a clear intake pipe now!

Re: Little. Blue. Different.
Heh I have no idea why its blue. Marketing gimmick I guess? Not a green or a red...cool thing is, once the intake pipe is on you cannot tell its not a stock turbo. FP puts little plates on the outsides of theirs, this one just says TD05HR-16G6C-10.5T, just like the one I have on the car. So therefore its just a 16g right? ;)

Re: Little. Blue. Different.
So we can just anodize the comp wheel on stock Evo turbos blue and sell them on eBay as BBKs?

Re: Little. Blue. Different.
So, this is CBRD's BBK, produced by Blouch:

Re: Little. Blue. Different.
I'm going to get mine anodized gold. For the hunnies.
Did you send in your turbo or is it a core replacement thing? Because I know you ported yours a bit, at least to match the manifold. I hope you had them enlarge your ported one. |
Re: Little. Blue. Different.
Is that the new Mutt turbo?

I know it's snowing, but I didn't think hell froze over!

Re: Little. Blue. Different.
Heh well you were so sure adding some bigger intercoolers would school me during some testing and comparing on the spring cruise, but you forgot that my car has some room to grow too :D
|
Re: Little. Blue. Different.
The Borg will still consume you. Resistance is futile.
About time you upgraded tho, congrats. |

Re: Little. Blue. Different.
GST in cali made 445whp/415wtq with this with E85 on a pretty basic modded evo (linked above), but my goals are not nearly that high, I just want a little more than I have now, but not enough to push any limits. Just good, reliable, fun...I mean power :)
|
Re: Little. Blue. Different.
^thats still not as much as a local dsm with a E316G on E85.
lol good on you buddy. Maybe next time you can get a real turbo upgrade. Lol. (now watch you hand me my ass in everyway possible.) |
Re: Little. Blue. Different.
Show me an E316g dsm that makes 445whp on a mustang dyno...or even maybe 'just' 400whp on dyno dynamics. I know you made 415 on map's dyno but if you can do that at the spring dyno day at DB, I will personally make you a cheesy bacon wrap.
|
Re: Little. Blue. Different.
I'm sure you'll put up some respectable numbers with it though. Your turbo is pretty much what's limiting you right now isn't it?
|

You stay wrapped up in the numbers I will keep on sticking it to people. :Banane55: oh and running 1/4 times and other crap. :rollinglaugh: I no longer have E316G. sorry. I think I would of made maybe 380 at DB that is consistent with the airflow and some other calculations in link. Anywho enough about old dsms. When is this thing gonna be on? |
Re: Little. Blue. Different.
Never, Turbo (his dog) just ate it! :D
|
Re: Little. Blue. Different.
Damn it!! NNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!
|
Re: Little. Blue. Different.
Nice!! I was kinda wondering why you ordered all that turbo stuff from Brookdale.
|
Re: Little. Blue. Different.
Just dropped it off at MAP for a wicked port job. Got all the gaskets and stuff that I need from brookdale yesterday, so all I need now is time *rolls eyes*

Re: Little. Blue. Different.
out with the old!
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3165/...2e8d057444.jpg Stock comp outlet (BBK comes the same)...this will be hogged out soon :) http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3341/...7c293bc0aa.jpg Anyone want an IX turbo? Shaft play is minimal, but I believe its leaking air past the bearings, I'll be testing this out soon. Comes as pictured above, no oil/coolant lines or outlet pipe. |
Re: Little. Blue. Different.
I'm accepting donations! :)
|
Re: Little. Blue. Different.
Hey, this should make for a really fun car! Enjoy it!
|
Re: Little. Blue. Different.
Im looking forward to seeing the results for this, Im still thinking of ditching my setup for the red. I just like the stock frame turbo setups. If you make good power with this, I will see what a 2.3 can do with one.
|
Re: Little. Blue. Different.
oh man, less than 24 hrs right?
|
Re: Little. Blue. Different.
The test-drive should be happening by 11am tomorrow morning :)
|
Re: Little. Blue. Different.
that is sweet, can i come?
|
Re: Little. Blue. Different.
Got the turbo back from Bob @ MAP/FFPerformance. He had assured me it would be done tonight, so I pushed him a little to make that happen. I was originally going to get my turbine housing coated black then silver to match my buschur coated manifold and SS O2 housing, but he had a wedding to get to and could only do one coat, black. Well, I didn't want a silver manifold and o2 housing and black turbine housing, so I ran them over to him and he got them all re-done in black. He got it done, and the quality is truely exceptional. I went over a bunch of details with him ahead of time and he came through on all of them like it was a no brainer.
I took some pics as best I could, but with the black coating it makes it tough to see the detail. I'll try more in the morning before I put it in the car. I'm really pumped to see what this thing will do :) |
Re: Little. Blue. Different.
i dont like black turbo parts ;)
|
Re: Little. Blue. Different.
lol, nice.
Good luck tomorrow. |
Re: Little. Blue. Different.
I'm suposed to get up early and pick my parents up at the airport, but I couldnt sleep. So I figured I'd take pics before it went on. There are about a billion, I was trying to take some detailed pics of the port work.
All pics here: http://www.scheides.com/gallery/evo-bbk/ Old vs new: http://www.scheides.com/albums/evo-b...9633.sized.jpg Ported compressor outlet (goes waaaay up in there!): http://www.scheides.com/albums/evo-b...9634.sized.jpg Stock turbine: http://www.scheides.com/albums/evo-b...9652.sized.jpg BBK turbine + ported outlet (portmatched): http://www.scheides.com/albums/evo-b...9653.sized.jpg Its gasket matched: http://www.scheides.com/albums/evo-b...9656.sized.jpg O2 Housing matches gasket as well (bob touched it up, normally there is a small lip that doesn't match): http://www.scheides.com/albums/evo-b...9655.sized.jpg Stock scroll #1 (I had done basic portmatch already): http://www.scheides.com/albums/evo-b...9650.sized.jpg Ported scroll #1 (there's a big wall that got cut WAY down in this scroll, this was one of the points I pushed bob on, and I'm glad I did.
