Swifty's never-ending project thread!
ah..when is the last time my car HASN'T been to a damn dyno day? huh? That's right.
It's tuning that's usually holding me back. Fuckers. -A. Swift |
Re: Name change!
So actually fully 100% tune the damn thing! You've been needing a tune for the last 3 years. We have multiple competent tuners in the area and I know none of them are booked solid right now.
|
Re: Name change!
hence why I got tomorrow off to make the upper ic pipe, clean up some wiring, check grounds, finish the timing belt and cam gears, start to put it all back together. WG is ordered and on the way, injectors are in, i just need to take out the old gas, get e85, and hcange the map around..anyone know when MN goes back to the "good" mix of e fuel?

Re: Name change!
seriously? Arg..
I know you are joking but still..I don't wanna tune on bad shit, ya know? -A. Swift |
Re: Name change!
e70 is not that bad. Just compare it to pump gas and it's awesome.
Aaron was running over 30psi on his 16g, I'm running about 26psi on my DD, it's still good gas. |
Re: Name change!
true, but i dont have an ECU tat will automatically map shit for me..like stock ones, or link or safc's, all using a stock one. So, I wanna tune to get the most outta my setup
-A. Swift |
Re: Name change!
Oh yea, you'd have to get a tune for both... sucky.
Anyway, back on topic, thinking of tasks for Peter to perform at the dyno day! |
Re: Name change!
Yea, I'd say get me coffee, but then again, that takes away my shot at driving scheide's evo..arg.
-A. Swift |
Re: Name change!
You have an ECU that can automatically adjust for different A/Fs more than a stock one/DSMLink, it can have it do it at full throttle if you want. It just won't adjust quite as well for knock or learned knock(octane value).
|
Re: Name change!
see, i didn't know that. I guess that's why you tune em..and i drive em.
-A. Swift |
Re: Name change!
You need to have a wideband wired into the AEM. Most DSM and Honda guys seem to be too cheap to setup their AEM properly, while almost every Supra, SC300, Viper and Mustang guy seems to have all the right stuff.

Re: Name change!
Here is a good E85 mix chart. http://www.e85mustangs.com/regions123.html
|
Re: Name change!
ya so say i tune in april, with class 3 (70%) then how will it adjust for class 1?

Swifty's never-ending project thread!
Goddamn it swifty, you keep dragging other threads OT with banter about your car! Post info here about what is going on with it or I will ban you.
I'll get you started with info from another thread. |
Re: Swifty's never-ending project thread!
lol. pics?
|
Re: Name change!
The most common method for dealing with mix changes has been pioneered by Jim Hayek the last few years. I believe he calls it the Let'R Buck tuning method.
|
Re: Swifty's never-ending project thread!
I fuking told you I have a camera you can HAVE! It was sitting in front of the microwave and anna hit the button to open the door and thwack! cracked went the screen. It still takes pics just fine. Rosey has the charger for it, or you can buy your own for a few bucks. It's got a small SD card in it, but those are cheap as hell ($10 @ microcenter)!

Re: Swifty's never-ending project thread!
ya ya ya...i suppose. if peter shows up give it ho him and then he can give it to me.
|
Re: Swifty's never-ending project thread!
Shows up to what?
|
Re: Swifty's never-ending project thread!
bees. im still waiting on john.
|
Re: Swifty's never-ending project thread!
Are you drunk? Wtf are you talking about?
Sure, I'll give it to peter...ummmmm ok. |
Re: Swifty's never-ending project thread!
Reading this thread makes me want to ban Swifty right now.
|
Re: Swifty's never-ending project thread!
not drunk..peter was going to stop by to bees tonight before coming out to fridays..so there!
Currently, the car is bumperless, timing belt less, fuel injectors, and etc. John is redoing wiring and moving the MSD, fuse box, and mocking/making my 3" upper ic pipe. I ordered a new red tial wg, got my electric exhaust cutout, and then i gotta put it all back together. JMF DRAG manifold is on the car, but for mock up. The new q45 tb i got i can actually fist..it's serious. So, that's the plans/car as of right now. Once done, it's tuning and paint. -A. Swift |

yea, pushit is. I HATE HATE HATE wiring, so he is doing it. And, I can't weld aluminum, so there ya go.
-A. Swift |
Re: Swifty's never-ending project thread!
Wow, my head hurts.
|
Re: Swifty's never-ending project thread!
So you are actually going to fully assembly and wire in everything this season?
The 500+ you made last year at 24psi wasn't that bad at all considering the issues you still had and well...how the car was put together. A little polishing and tiddying up loose ends and you should be good to go this season. I already told you the AEM can comp for changes in afr if that wideband is wired into the aem and calibrated correctly (as well as accurate). It is the octane swings related to timing that I was worried about (as Shane mentioned above). In the end its your car and whatever makes you happy. Post up completed pictures when you are done. |

Check it out swifty! I can post the pics you emailed me, like magic!
Click goadvanced to reply, then click 'manage attachments' then pick the files I want to upload (I saved your pics to my local computer!) Then once they're uploaded, you can either just leave them be (thanks to the new nifty shadowbox feature) OR you can right click on the links to the images and copy the link, slap it between some IMG tags and you're set: http://www.mitsustyle.com/forums/att...1&d=1234456172 http://www.mitsustyle.com/forums/att...0129091358.jpg http://www.mitsustyle.com/forums/att...0130091551.jpg http://www.mitsustyle.com/forums/att...0211091942.jpg Add some comments like: "Progress pics. manifold off. fuse box m s d and etc removing and relocating. cam gears installed. pipes mocked up. etc. -A. Swift" And you're set. Please continue :D |
Re: Swifty's never-ending project thread!

wow I had a headache before reading this thread and now I have a migraine..good luck with project hope it makes it to the dyno day!!!!!
|
Re: Swifty's never-ending project thread!
~8 actually. it was the catch can pff maps rxfdsm thing. sheides can you clean ip the thread a bit so i dont get a headache?
|
Re: Swifty's never-ending project thread!
OMG! pictures!!! Still want that mojito? lol
|
Re: Swifty's never-ending project thread!
This thread sucks, haha.
the bigger the catch can lines, the more oil it can catch. |
Re: Swifty's never-ending project thread!
yea, but higher boost will raise crankcase pressure..look what happened to the RX7. Hence why they needed a bigger can. MY can hasn't been filled much at all, and I remember what happened with the old can and NO vent hole or filter for it..wow..smoke like no other! This seems to work well for me.
I got the exhaust cutout today, and the WG should be here soon. Sat, John will come back over to continue the wiring process, check grounds ( must be a wiring issue, as to why it didn't rev last year) and to degree the cams. -A. Swift |
Re: Swifty's never-ending project thread!
