It held power good on the 562 run, looks like when he turned the boost up on the 581 run that it didn't like it up top.

Yeah, exactly what we were seeing a couple of weeks ago. Shane, do you have those link logs by chance? I'd like to look through those and see if I see anything. I'm guessing MAF overrun, I don't think we were running out of fuel at all.

Could be MAF overrun. I remember the DSMlink logs were maxed out at 4000hz flat though. I can find them, if you remember what day it was.

Here is mine.
Not sure why power dips at 6200 each time, my logs didn't show knock or anything out of the ordinary. I love how the torque maxes around 4300 and just stays pretty level. |

Each run I tried a different tune to see how the car would respond. I've settled on the 3rd since it made the most power with the hottest coolant and intake air temps (and probably a heat-soaking FMIC). I think there is more power just waiting to be had with a better FMIC!

Shane and Steve, you both have nice numbers! Now I know what to shoot for next year. Did you both see about a 15% difference from the DB dyno?

Mine was about 12% higher on hp, but my torque was considerably higher; I think my boost started higher and gradually tapered off to about 22-23, where last time it spiked and then went down right away (but still was about the same on top end -- 22-23). I can hardly imagine wanting a different turbo, 16g's are so amazing -- awesome spool and torque, yet good power too. I just wish it would hold a little more psi on top end. The street I like around 20psi, but on the dyno it would be nice to have 26 or more.
Modern's wideband showed leaner than mine, and showed leaner than DB's did on my cousin's car. Mine showed 8.3:1 yesterday ( about 12.45:1 gas). DB's was like 11.6 on my cousins, and then I leaned it about .2. My car must have an iffy coil or something, that last run it misfired a little, which it does randomly on the street once in a great while. http://www.rohnerautosales.com/pics/dynojet.jpg |

It's common for Dynojets to show leaner than what you see on the street or a loading dyno.
These 16Gs nowdays are amazing. You could make some more with a 50-trim or whatever, but you are going to gain a shit load of lag over what those things can do. |

Your car holds top end really good, i want to upgrade to a HX35 close to 16g spool with better top end.
But i really don't want to let go of this 16g goodness. |

At DB, I had em rev it to 8 grand the last pull, and from 75 to 8, the power didn't drop off. I wanted it revved to at least 7500 this time, but oh well; not like it pays to rev past 7 anyways. At the 1/8 mile I shifted at 7; I wanna try 65 or 67 once to see how it does though.
I think it pulls ok to 8 grand when I have the boost down to like 18-19 or so. I have ran it to 8500 a couple times just to see if my tranny would actually shift at that rpm; one time i miss-shifted racing someone a couple years ago and it hit 9700 (when I had an safc2 so I actually knew my highest rpm). |

Mine really nosedives after 6400rpm or so. I think my HKS cams are way too small for this combo.

It takes some big cams, big intake manifold and ported head to get a 2.3l/2.4l to hold power up top like a 2.0l. Most people with the usual aftermarket cams and aftermarket intake manifold usually have peak HP around 6500 on the strokers.

I know the strokers and 2.4's peak and dive in the low 6k rpm range, but I'd like to see my peak hp hold til around 7000rpm so I have more of a window. I've already got the big intake, piping and lightly ported head. I think the cams are holding me back. I'll have to read up on the FP3x's again, there were some good comparisons out when they hit the market. Guess that will be my winter project to find that table top dyno sheet.

Steve what cams do you have now? I went with the FP4R cams, when I got my tune at DB the power maxed around 6500 and didnt start dropping much until 7000. I was going to go with the FP4 or FP3x but didn't want to install dual valvesprings, I just stuck with my Crower singles.
