I'm sure most you have seen this video of John Shepherd throwing down insane run in his 1g. The best part about it, is that he beat a mustang:woohoo1:

OMFG did anyone notice the homo in the comments saying that the Talon is not an import......Jesus the faggotry will never end in the world..

Re: If you haven't seen this, and own a DSM, then where have you been?

In one of the other shep videos, some douche with a mustang, was talking shit about shep, saying that it was not that impressive. I couldn't help but tear into him about driving his 4.9l.....dude didn't even know what the CID of his motor was, and hes trying to rip on me and my (former) dsm....pisses me off.

It's only impressive because it's a four cylinder. Yeah it's not that cool in the V8 world...

Re: If you haven't seen this, and own a DSM, then where have you been?

I understand the crazy numbers v8's put out, but real car guys should respect something that actually is pretty amazing.

sleepydsm 09-29-2008 02:43 AM

Re: If you haven't seen this, and own a DSM, then where have you been?

It all depends on your point of view. Yes, making a four cylinder do that is impressive.

Those comments and arguements that people wrote blow my mind.

Agreed, some people should just never touch a keyboard. There lack of knowledge really angers me.

i dont consider them an import seeming they are built in the us

also mustangs for the most came with a 5.0 or 4.6 no 4.9

Re: If you haven't seen this, and own a DSM, then where have you been?

I can't believe people think DSM's were imported. :|

I don't know why people have to argue one car against another like that. A mustang has a motor at least twice the size of a DSM, so no shit they have/can go faster.

Why don't those nut swingers take a v6/I4 camaro or mustang and try going as fast? They know they can't, and would rather stick to the same old technology that has been used for many years, instead of being pioneers.

Some prefer to follow than lead I guess.

Halon 09-29-2008 10:35 AM

Re: If you haven't seen this, and own a DSM, then where have you been?

I don't think there's much Pioneering left for DSM's at most of our levels.

And who cares about engine size, etc. A fast car is a fast car, who cares what platform it is. Just choose what you like, and let others do the same.

ford didnt do their math right, the mustang came with 302ci motor, comes out to 4.95l approx. They got lawsuits pinned against them for that.

Re: If you haven't seen this, and own a DSM, then where have you been?

That is basic math there. You don't say 4.95L. What does 4.95 round off to? You got it 5.0. Not to hard to comprehend. EVERY manufacturer does it, regardless if it is cars, bikes, snow mobiles or what have you. Ford did do their math right. Get a clue.

Re: If you haven't seen this, and own a DSM, then where have you been?

+1.

4g63 is a 1.997L engine, aka 2.0. Granted, that's a little closer than 4.95, but still.

I call false advertising! LAWLZ

It actually comes out to 4.94889l, idk, I just like being a a-hole sometimes to the guys that cannot stop ripping on 4 bangers.

They are not imports. Built in the US with under 30% japanese parts. They were never RHD, they were never sold in japan, A few were EXported to Great Britan, but thats about it.

The most important parts were imported. (The engine and transmission)

Mustang 7.86 - Shep 7.70

I looks alot like he losses but by looking at the times he did not. Either way the mustang had him by a car and he came back on the top and and beat him.

He said he didn't feel safe in the car anymore. And took this season (that's soon to end) off to make safety adjustments.

If you watch any of his recent videos (like the one posted) he's turning the wheel all the way down the track.

He may have ran a faster time, but he might not've crossed the finish line first, which I believe would be a loss unless it's a time trial run.

The Mustang crossed the finish line first, which matters more than the time in drag racing. Watch the incar view and you can see the Mustang ahead the whole run. http://www.shearerfabrications.com/v...%20@%20191.wmv

And not just small adjustments. In the in car posted by Shane and Matt it's over an 1/8 turn over, at ~170MPH. Crazy! I have seen another that looked closer to 1/4 turn, that's a insane correction to be putting in at those speeds.

And the Mustang won. In real (professional) drag racing your reaction time counts as well at the ET. RT + ET = win or lose.
