Just thought i'd let everyone know at the end of summer i built a 2.4, put 300 miles on it driving around mnpls, had shane tune it and then drove 1780 miles back to az. :)

It didnt burn a drop of oil either :)

Wow. I'd love to have the confidence in mine to do that. I just never trust a car. I'm the kind of person that will pull over and check shit out if I hear a stick snap under the tire..

You got balls man, balls.

It didn't make enough on 91 octane to be worth posting about. It just needed to drive back to AZ.

Total BS. Poeple need to know what combos work/don't work or whatnot. Even if it was 'only 300whp' it's cool to post so your friends know whats up. I've been trying to cure floppy of his apathetic attitude all summer, never got him to make it out to a meet or anything :(

You left off the *sigh* :P

srsly, what engine guts? What turbo, fmic, cams, etc etc?

Super Bleeder!! 08-28-2008 11:04 PM

Re: Now thats confidence

engine: reciprocating gasoline 4 stroke spark ignition

turbo: radial compressor actuated by turbine

fmic: aluminum; bar and plate

;)

I'd say it probably most likely traps about 121-124 mph on pump.

Wait wait wait, you stuck a HONDA engine in it, didn't you! No wonder it's reliable! K24 woot!

You can't compare different cars though, unless they are close to stock. With old ass DSMs and throwing a built motor into the mix, things get too skewed. Half the guys out there with built motors in DSMs would have made more power with a stock motor because they raised the compression too much, or got some stage 5 ported head that makes less power than a stock one, or created some flow problem/hot spot that causes detonation to early, or the motor is so noisy that it constantly sets off the knock sensor, or some other weird problem. And then there are the fluke setups that just make stupid power compared to others for no obvious reason.

I can tell you that if he was out east that it would make a decent amount more power with some good pump gas. Or on E85, it would make a shiet load o'power.
