Apparently someone died in a crash on the street on friday night?

http://buschurforums.com/forum/showp...&postcount=124

"Actually burnouts in the hotel parking lots would be FOR THE LOSS. How many times do we have to ask you guys to act like adults?

The wreck with the 2g, there was a male passenger that died in that crash. The driver is being held in jail for Vehicular Homicide, Vehicular Assault and Failure to control.

Last, our dyno was calibrated perfectly except for the two FWD cars we dyno'd at the end. I forgot to switch the dyno settings from AWD to FWD, so the two FWD cars read higher than they should have. Just because someone THINKS they have a better combination doesn't mean they actually do.

I'll be posting the information for the shootout within the next few days. It was the largest, best event to date."

Re: Post shootout pics/stories here!

"I'll put it simple with little details because I am not getting involved in this. I am just an eyewitness to what happened. There was an SUV in front of the EVO that the EVO had to slow down very fast for. When he did he came into my lane (left lane) a little while stopping. David tried to slow down in time and was unable to. He swerved to the right to miss the EVO and had to swerve even further because there was a black EVO parked along side the road which made him veer into the grass on the side of the road and losing control. He then slid out in front of other cars and slid into oncoming traffic where he narrowly avoided a semi and was T boned by the SUV. I think if he would not have been hit they would have rolled over the embankment and they would all be dead."

Crazy.

Very crazy... Just to think everyone would have been much better off if he would have just rear-ended the SUV! :(

The driver is a pretty nice guy. I've talked to him many times on AIM. I really hope he doesnt get those charges pressed against him. I'm sure he feels horrible already.

I wouldn't be so quick to judge that the accident was caused strictly by people acting stupid. Here's the story that was posted up on the DSMLink forums. Very sad, and I will be donating money to the funeral, and would encourage others to do the same. From what I gather, all those involved in the incident were decent people, and this could have happened to anyone of us.

Ok. To fill everyone in here. I am still in Norwalk. David is Healthy and safe- Billy, a close friend and family member of ours is no longer with us. We thank everyone who participated in the moment of silence at the track today. I'm sure Billy would be very greatful. Billy doesnt have much, and the few family members he has also do not have much. His friends (us) are going to do everything we can do for the funeral. If you would like to donate anything to help with the funeral costs it is greatly appreciated. He will have to be taken care of here in Norwalk and then transported to Maryland for the remaining procedures and funeral.

-This is the story-

Me, Haley, Steve, and Ron were riding in my evo. David, Chrissy (his gf), and Billy were riding in his talon. Our two cars left Best Western in search for food. Every year we head to Sandusky for a decent dinner. This time our trip to Sandusky ended tragically. David was following me while traveling down route 250. I was in the right lane and a Cavelier was traveling to my back left corner. David was behind the cavelier and attempted to switch lanes to get directly behind me. At the same moment the car ahead of me was stopped in the road suddenly. I braked suddenly to avoid collision. At this point David was changing lanes behind me, saw my brake lights, and then swirved to the right of my car to avoid collision with me. A disabled car happened to be in the shoulder when David swirved into the shoulder. He locked up his brakes and swirved into the dirt/grass to the right of the shoulder to avoid the disabled car. The car lost control and started sliding sideways. David tried to control the car without much luck. The car slid sideways infront of me and surrounding traffic. His talon continued to slide into oncomming traffic, with a few cars avoiding him. A black toyota four-runner was unable to avoid collision- David's car was "t-boned" on the passenger side. The toyota rolled several times before coming to a stop.

***David was not driving recklessly like some reports say. Nobody was street racing or doing anything abnormal. It could of been any of us. ***

David had a few cuts and scrapes but Chrissy and Billy were injured fairly bad. Two helo's flew them to St Vincents Mercy Hospital for treatment. Both Chrissy and Billy were in critical condition. One second the doctors told us Billy was doing great. He seemed ok at the accident but had some leg injuries. The next second the doctors informed us that we lost Billy due to internal bleeding. Steve and Billy are cousins. But Steve is his father figure. He lives with him, feeds him, clothes him, etc. The loss of Billy is like losing a son to steve. And a very good friend of ours.

Chrissy (Davids gf) is still in critical condition but her healing process has already started. Her family is with her and we are visiting her periodically. Chrissy is a very strong girl and will pull through great. So far she is doing really well and I hope everyone will pray for her recovery.

As for all of us. Friends and Family of Billy- its hard. Its honestly the hardest thing I have ever had to deal with. I can speak for my friends and say the same. Please keep us in your prayers. Pray that Chrissy will continue a solid, healthy recovery.

Thank you all in advance for everything. The DSM community is like no other, and an event like this tears me apart. It seems like a bad dream, but I cant seem to wake up...

Re: Post shootout pics/stories here!

There's also reports of these two cars lane jumpin and cutting people off as they left town, and personally passing people to get right behind your friend is considered aggressive driving. It IS too bad what happened and I can see anyone of us doing something similar, just the situation was really really bad time to do such a thing.

Let this serve as a reminder why we like to have fun on our cruises, but not *too* much fun, if you know what I mean. Seems like there was a line that was crossed and the price has now been paid. It's really too bad and very very sad.

Well the shootout was a good time for me.

MAP ran their car and it was great to watch and I think they were all really pleased with it, but I will let them tell you all everything. Here is a few pics of it on the line and racing.

As for the crash, we were all on our way to Steak and Shake when it happened. We got there right after the first police arrived. It was very sad and we learned about the death at the track on Sunday.

Besides that, the trip was fun and once I go through my pictures I will post more.

I'll let them explain, but its going to be soo much faster than that. I bet they could have a 8 or 9 sec car on their hands. It was a lot of fun to watch them run and just fly past the other car once theirs got going.

I'm going to say the car should trap around 180mph all said and done and possibly run close to 8.00 for et. Of course this being once the car is on full power. I believe the 154 was on low boost....... ;)

Well, ok, they weren't street racing or driving crazy, but that story in blue didn't say how fast they were going, which must have been pretty fast for them to slide that far and cause the vehicle that hit them to roll several times. I'm not trying to agitate anyone here, but this wasn't a case of completely innocent people, I'm sure they were very nice, but alot of people are very nice, yet drive poorly and suffer/make others suffer from their lack of responsibility.

What the hell kind of "girls" pictures are those? it's a bunch of dude's girlfriends who have no idea they are being sniped with a camera from behind? NO thanks!

That's a different perspective. My first thought was they were racing, because that's what everybody does there AND the kid is a teen to boot. But after reading this, it really can happen to anyone, so I hope the driver is acquitted of the charges and he can deal with what happened. Very sad.

And I'm with Fatty, the shootout is not where I'd go to snap pics of chicks. Yikes, miniskirts aren't for everyone.
